"And have you thought about giving me a reward for doing a good job picking your dress?" Lucas teased but April didn't get the idea of what Lucas was asking for.
She first thought about giving him money, but thinking twice, Lucas is one of the top richest men in the country, what would her little tip do in his account so she decided to ask what he wanted.
"Wh- wha- what do you want? I don't really have much money to give you but you can tell me what you want and I'll make sure to give it to you when I have it" April said softly staring at Lucas for an answer.
Lucas then smiled to himself as he had just trapped April into promising him a reward and that way he would be able to demand whatever he wished from her.
Knowing how teasing Lucas can be 😈😉he's sure up to something dirty and he knows April isn't aware yet.
But before he replied to April, Lucas quickly brought out his phone and asked April to call her account number to him but April immediately became confused and wondered why he needed her account details.
Lucas on the other hand just remembered that since they registered their marriage, he has never given April money. So he sent some money into her account without wasting time.
When April received the notification on her phone and checked what it was, her eyes widened in shock;
"Lu- Lu- Lucas! This? This is too much" she stuttered with her eyes still staring at the phone in her hand. Lucas just sent fifty thousand dollars into her account which had April in shock.
She wasn't even expecting him to send any money to her not to talk about that much amount. Her eyes were already glistening with unshed tears when Lucas quickly used something else to distract her attention.
"Wifey! As for the reward you promised me, I'll let you know when I need it" he whispered softly into April's ears with a husky thick voice.
April blushed afterwards as Lucas's voice made her ears ticklish. While they were in the car on the way to the restaurant he booked for their date, April couldn't stop glancing at her husband as if that was the first time seeing him.
She wondered in her mind how Lucas behaved so different from Jake Steele her ex-husband who maltreated before. After everything that happened to her during the marriage with Jake, she always thought all men were cruel and gruesome but Lucas was different.
Even though his cold words and demeanor sometimes make him look like a bad person, she could somehow feel he wasn't the same as Jake.
Back then, Jake never allowed April to enter his car for any reason. He didn't even give any allowance to get herself anything she needed personally. And since he didn't allow April to work, she couldn't have her own personal money to get things.
Sometimes, it was her mother in law Madam Steele that provided daily necessities to her.
Flashback to one time April had a terrible period cramps and couldn't even stand up to her feet properly, Jake Steele made her press all of his shirt through out that day while standing.
Jake didn't feel any remorse about making her stand and work for a long time despite the pains she was feeling. That day April cried silent tears till she finished at night while enduring the pains in her lower abdomen.
Madam Steele, her ex mother in law watched her in silence and worried for her health.
Thinking about everything she had gone through in the past marriage experience compared to the things Lucas had done for her and how he has treated her in the past few days, her heart began racing in excitement.
Without hesitation, April took Lucas's right hand and interlocked her fingers into his while his left hand remained on the steering wheel.
Lucas was taken by surprise but then he didn't raise any weird questions so April wouldn't be embarrassed as he thought it's good that she is beginning to open up her heart bit by bit.
Soon, Lucas pulled up in front of a big luxury French restaurant as he quickly rushed down from the car to open the door for April.
Swiftly they both strolled in gently and took the elevator to the main restaurant space while holding hands. The attendants quickly showed them to their private room and gave them the menu.
Lucas booked for a private room instead of sharing spaces with other people because he thought April would be shy and embarrassed around too many people. Besides, he also wanted them to have a good conversation without any hindrance.
April looked around well with her eyes glistening with excitement "I've never been to this type of place before, it's so beautiful" April said softly glancing around.
"That means we need to go out more often, and I'm glad you like it" They both sat facing each other while the waitress waited for them to order what they wanted.
April flipped the menu from the first page to the last page and couldn't understand the names of the dishes making it hard to make a decision.The next minutes, she pouted her lips and blinked her eyes cutely before asking Lucas to help.
"Lucas can you help me with the order, I'm kind of confused about which one to pick" she whispered to Lucas so the waitress wouldn't hear what she said.
Lucas let out a slight chuckle and understood what his wife wanted. He didn't ask any questions and just went ahead to order the same meal for the both of them.
"We would have Salade Niçoise, Ratatouille and Pot au feu with a bottle of Burgundy, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Chambertin". Lucas said to the waitress as he noticed April was staring at him.
"What's wrong wifey?"
"Yo- you– really speak French so fluently" April blushed
"It's nothing much, I only picked a few during business meetings" Lucas chuckled softly.
