"What do you mean pick a few? You sound so fluent when you speak French." April noted as her eyes brightened
"Would you like to learn from me? I can teach you personally if you want." Lucas smiled seductively
"Really! I would love to learn. When can lessons begin?" April exclaimed smiling widely at Lucas with her dimples very visible
"And not so fast with that." He smiled and raised his brows seductively
"What will be my reward if I teach you? I can't do it for free, I have to earn something in return at least."
"Are you making this a give and take? You were the one that suggested to teach me initially, why are you asking for a reward?" April's eyes dulled
"Well, if I remember clearly, professional teachers don't do it for free. And I'm here making a better offer, don't you think I've tried?" Lucas chuckled
"it would be best if you take the offer before it's too late. I'm a business man and I don't waste my time when making offers" Lucas teased with a smile.
April frowned slightly thinking about what he said before giving a reply.
"O- ok! You can tell me what you want, I'll– give it to you when I have it" April muttered almost as if Lucas couldn't hear what she said.
"That's a deal then!" Lucas smiled seductively while staring at April dodging his stare.
And with that Lucas once again tricked his innocent wife to promise him a reward.
Soon, the food was settled on their table and immediately the waitresses left the room, Lucas expertly opened the bottle of wine and poured a glass for April and himself.
They both took a sip after clinking their wine glasses. Immediately they dropped the glasses, April couldn't help but compliment Lucas for doing a good job picking the smooth and rich fruit taste wine.
Few minutes into eating their meals in silent, Lucas decided to bring up a conversation;
"So, I'm curious, why did you choose to study fashion and designs? I mean, there are various courses you could study out there, what brought about your interest?" Lucas asked sipping his wine
"When I was young, I loved dollling myself up with different types of designs and accessories. So I thought studying fashion and design would be a great fit for me"
"But I don't really see you doing much of that now. Why is that?"
"Tha-that's because — it's— because" April got lost in thought at the question, remembering the things of the past and was almost in tears. Thankfully, Lucas noticed and knew what she wanted to say, so he quickly asked another question to distract her.
"So, when are you graduating?"
"Hmm!" April quickly adjusted herself "I'll be graduating in two months time" April replied with smiles.
"That's great! I'm rooting for you wifey! He said with smiles
"Tha- thank you" April blushed softly
Moments later, they both finished their food and the waiter came to pack the plates.
"Come, let's go to the next location" Lucas said standing up from his chair as he went straight to help April adjust her chair to the back.
"Where are we going?"
"Somewhere interesting," Lucas smirked.
But April felt uneasy about 'somewhere interesting' he said and pondered in confusion.
As they entered the car, April continued to ponder in confusion where they might be going again after eating at a restaurant.
He never mentioned anything when they left the house, so she thought at least a heads up would do but who knows what Lucas has planned.
Immediately Lucas fired up the engine of the car, his phone began to ring with the caller ID showing on the center display.
As Lucas saw it was his mother, he didn't wait a second before swiping it away.
April looked at his face in shock and wanted to say something but remembering the things that happened a few days ago about the marriage quarrel, April didn't say anything and lowered her head as she continued to blame herself in her mind.
Not much longer, Lucas pulled up the car in front of a luxury boutique.
"We are here!" Lucas said and came down to open the door for April.
April looked at the building with confused expression with her brows raised so Lucas had to quickly explain what they were going there to do.
"You mentioned some of your dresses were not your size and too short, so I thought you could pick out a few dresses by yourself. I think that's much better than what Andrew picked out" he explained while leading her through the door of the boutique.
"Welcome back! Mr Brook. We have some exquisite pieces on display today. How can we assist you?" The female attendant smiled at Lucas but after she noticed April was behind him and she frowned a little bit. But she quickly covered it up with a smile.
"There'll be no need for that. My wife needs something special, assist her in every way you can" Lucas immediately made his orders clear but the female attendant had her eyes widened since she wasn't expecting April to be Lucas's wife and Lucas actually introduced her as his wife without any added feelings.
"Please come this way ma'am" she led April towards the female section of the boutique where it has every female clothings and accessories including jewellery.
April looked around with her mouth slightly opened with her eyes brightly appreciating the boutique's building design and the luxury clothing set.
While April strolled in gently, checking each dress, the female attendant stood at a corner and took a few pictures as she quickly sent it to one of her contacts.
After doing that, she quickly ran to April with a bright smile as she suggested dress designs to her while covering up her frown.
April really didn't pick much of the dress and picked a few night wears that had long jacket so she could cover her body. But she didn't know Lucas was watching with a seductive smile.
He knew what April was trying to do, but he kept quiet instead and continued to smile.
After picking a few night wears to her satisfaction, she turned towards where the cashier was to pay when Lucas crossed her path and whispered some words into her ears softly.
