Sun Zhewen nodded, a hint of worry in his eyes. "Of course. If it's broken, you won't be able to wear high heels anymore."
Hearing this, Liu Ruyue hesitated, then finally took off her shoes. She carefully tried to remove her socks, but yelped the moment her foot was touched. "No, it hurts."
Seeing this, Sun Zhewen gently comforted her, "Don't worry, let me help." After speaking, he placed her foot on his thigh and gently removed her socks. Seeing that her foot was slightly swollen, his brow furrowed even more.
He tentatively pressed down, and Liu Ruyue immediately sat up, her hands tightly gripping Sun Zhewen's arm. The pain caused him to cry out too, "Ouch, ouch, ouch!"
Liu Ruyue realized she had lost her composure and quickly let go, a hint of embarrassment on her face. "Who told you to press it? It hurts so much."
Sun Zhewen rubbed his reddened arm and smiled wryly, "Okay, I won't press it. And you don't pinch me anymore. We're even."
Liu Ruyue couldn't help but laugh, and the tense atmosphere eased considerably. Sun Zhewen took out his phone, turned on the flashlight, and carefully examined her foot. He found it was only a slight sprain, and he breathed a sigh of relief. "It's okay. It should just be a sprain. It'll be fine after a few days of rest. But you should still go to the hospital to get it checked when we get back."
Liu Ruyue looked at the man in front of her with sparkling eyes. Her heart was a little chaotic, as if a lake had been gently caressed by a breeze, creating ripples. She didn't pull her leg back, nor did she tell Sun Zhewen to go to the front. The two of them sat in the back, and the air in the car seemed to become warm and soft.
In the evening, she drank two bottles of beer and was starting to feel sleepy, her eyelids growing heavy. She whispered, "Zhewen, I want to take a nap."
Sun Zhewen was slightly taken aback, then gave a gentle smile and nodded. "Okay, go ahead and sleep."
Liu Ruyue suddenly had an idea, and said half-jokingly, "I want to use your leg as a pillow."
Sun Zhewen was stunned for a moment, a blush creeping onto his face, but he still nodded. "Ah, alright."
Liu Ruyue carefully drew back her legs, afraid of touching his ankles. She rested her head on Sun Zhewen's leg, feeling the warmth of it, and a sense of inexplicable peace filled her heart. Before long, she fell asleep, her breathing becoming steady.
Sun Zhewen looked down at her sleeping face, a warmth welling up inside him. He reached out and unconsciously brushed away a few strands of hair from her forehead.
Liu Ruyue didn't sleep soundly; perhaps the car seat wasn't comfortable. She tossed and turned occasionally, eventually hugging Sun Zhewen's waist, as if she had found the most comfortable position. Sun Zhewen's heart rate quickened from her embrace, and the blush on his face deepened.
This woman, she's really a vixen, he thought to himself.
Liu Ruyue had never been this close to a man before, but it didn't repulse her. Instead, she felt a greater sense of security. She smiled faintly in her dream, as if she were having a sweet dream.
Outside the car window, the night was as dark as ink, dotted with stars. Inside the car, the hearts of the two young people gradually drew closer, their warmth intertwining in the quiet night, forming a strange understanding.
Time seemed to stop at this moment, and both of them were immersed in this warmth and tranquility. Liu Ruyue's breathing was steady and gentle, while Sun Zhewen's heartbeat became increasingly rapid.
Liu Ruyue woke up during a turn, slightly opening her sleepy eyes and finding the man beside her still asleep. The corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up, and a warmth welled up in her heart. She gently leaned over and softly kissed his lips. The man was awakened by this sudden tenderness, opened his eyes, and seeing Liu Ruyue's eyes full of affection, couldn't help but kiss her back.
After a moment of intimacy, they finally got up and started to tidy their clothes. After they were done, they found that the tow truck hadn't arrived yet. Liu Ruyue leaned against the man and whispered, "I never thought I'd kiss you. And in the middle of nowhere."
"I never thought the Chairwoman would favor me either," the man replied with a smile, his tone teasing.
"Ugh, stop calling me Chairwoman," Liu Ruyue said coquettishly.
"Hmm? Then what should I call you?" the man asked, pretending to be puzzled.
"Call me Ruyue." Liu Ruyue's voice was soft and warm, like a spring breeze caressing the heart.
"Mm." The man nodded, his eyes full of affection.
"Call my name." Liu Ruyue requested playfully.
"Ruyue." The man called out softly, his voice magnetic and gentle.
"Mm." Liu Ruyue hugged the man she was holding even tighter, as if she wanted to merge him into her body. A wave of happiness surged through her heart, but also some doubts. After hesitating for a moment, she finally summoned her courage and asked, "Zhewen, tell me honestly about something."
"What is it?" Sun Zhewen sensed her tension, and a hint of unease crept into his heart.
"Do you and Chen Qingyan have... that kind of relationship?" Liu Ruyue's voice trembled slightly, her eyes filled with both anticipation and worry.
Sun Zhewen was silent for a moment, his thoughts racing. How can I put this? He had just been intimate with her, and now she was asking about another woman. At this moment, Liu Ruyue's gaze became sharper, and she snorted, "See, you must have done it. Your wife doesn't know, does she?"
"Heh," Sun Zhewen chuckled dryly, trying to defuse the awkward atmosphere.
"You idiot. I won't tell your wife," Liu Ruyue said, a little relieved by his reaction, but still somewhat displeased.
Sun Zhewen touched Liu Ruyue's face, trying to soothe her with a gentle gesture.
Liu Ruyue caught his hand, her voice taking on a serious tone. "Zhewen, you should stay away from that woman. Don't you know she's the Local Tyrant's woman? How dare you provoke her."
"Ugh, I don't know what to say," Sun Zhewen sighed, feeling somewhat helpless.
"Forget it, I won't nag you. You need to be careful, okay? How are things with your wife?" Seeing his state, Liu Ruyue dropped the subject and turned to his marital status.
"It's alright, I guess," Sun Zhewen replied vaguely, seeming distracted.
"What do you mean 'alright'? It's either good or bad," Liu Ruyue grumbled, her eyes showing a hint of reproach.
"We're married by agreement, not in reality," Sun Zhewen finally confessed, a hint of helplessness in his voice.
"Ah, you're not really… Why?" Liu Ruyue widened her eyes in surprise, clearly not expecting this.
"I'm a shield for the child in her womb," Sun Zhewen said in a low voice, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes.
"Oh, I see," Liu Ruyue nodded, her feelings for him becoming even more complicated. She sighed softly, leaning against his shoulder, her thoughts swirling.
