The night was deep, and stars dotted the sky. Only Sun Zhewen and Liu Ruyue's car remained stranded on the side of the road. They had been waiting for several hours, but the tow truck still hadn't arrived. Sun Zhewen picked up his phone again and dialed the tow truck company, but the only sound he heard was the cold busy tone. He sighed helplessly and tossed the phone onto the dashboard, turning to look at Liu Ruyue.
"Looks like we're sleeping in the car tonight," Sun Zhewen raised an eyebrow, trying to lighten the mood with a casual tone.
Liu Ruyue nodded, whispering, "Mm." Her voice was soft, but carried a hint of fatigue.
The air inside the car seemed to thicken, and an ambiguous atmosphere quietly spread. Liu Ruyue subconsciously grabbed Sun Zhewen's hand, her fingers trembling slightly, appearing a little uneasy. Sun Zhewen felt her tension, and his heart skipped a beat, a smile playing on his lips.
"Don't move around," Liu Ruyue warned in a low voice, a blush creeping onto her face.
Sun Zhewen chuckled, feigning innocence, "Who told you to seduce me?" His words were laced with teasing and playfulness, trying to ease their mutual awkwardness.
Liu Ruyue glared at him, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but lift slightly. "I didn't seduce you!" she retorted, her voice tinged with a hint of coquettishness.
Sun Zhewen gently squeezed her fingers, whispering, "Then why are you holding my hand right now?"
Liu Ruyue was momentarily speechless, the blush on her face deepening. She released Sun Zhewen's hand and turned to look out the window, trying to hide her embarrassment.
The car fell into a brief silence, only the sound of the wind outside and the occasional passing vehicle breaking the tranquility. Sun Zhewen looked at Liu Ruyue's profile, a wave of tenderness washing over him. He knew she was actually very nervous, but unwilling to show it.
"Ruyue," Sun Zhewen said softly, "Are you cold?"
Liu Ruyue turned her head, met his gaze, and gently shook her head. "No, I'm fine." Her voice was still gentle, but there was a hint of warmth and a touch of playfulness in her eyes. Her cheeks were slightly flushed, as if a little shy, but more of an indescribable sweetness.
Sun Zhewen held Liu Ruyue in his arms tighter, their breaths quickening. The car swayed in the night, the soft light inside the car casting a warm and romantic atmosphere over them. Liu Ruyue's long hair fell over his shoulders, emitting a faint fragrance, and Sun Zhewen couldn't help but take a deep breath.
"Don't tell anyone," Liu Ruyue suddenly said, her voice carrying a hint of pleading and a hint of threat.
Sun Zhewen smiled, a hint of cunning flashing in his eyes. "How could I tell anyone?" He gently blew on her ear, making Liu Ruyue shrink her neck, and the blush on her face deepened.
"How did I end up like this with you, you rascal." Liu Ruyue's cheeks were slightly flushed, and she muttered, but there was no blame in her bright eyes, more of an irrepressible helplessness and full of doting. She gently stretched out her slender hand and gently punched Sun Zhewen's sturdy chest, the movement was like coquettishness, with a bit of coquettishness, to vent the complex and subtle emotions in her heart.
Liu Ruyue lowered her head slightly, strands of hair falling on either side of her cheeks as she softly said, "Still groping around. Sigh, we won't be seeing each other as much in the future." Her words carried a hint of sadness and reluctance.
Sun Zhewen held Liu Ruyue's hand in his palm, speaking gently, "Whenever you want, I'll come and be with you." His eyes were filled with determination and deep affection.
Liu Ruyue raised her head, letting out a small hum, "Hmph, don't you have your wife, Secretary Chen, to keep you company? What am I?" A trace of jealousy and resentment involuntarily leaked from her words.
Sun Zhewen's lips curled into a slight smile, teasing, "Are you jealous?"
Liu Ruyue turned her face away, chiding, "Hmph, of course not. Don't flatter yourself." But the panic in her eyes betrayed her true feelings.
Sun Zhewen gently turned Liu Ruyue's shoulders, making her face him, and said seriously, "Ruyue, in my heart, you're different from them."
A hint of confusion flashed in Liu Ruyue's eyes, and she murmured, "So what? What we're doing is ultimately wrong."
Sun Zhewen embraced her tightly, saying, "I know, but I can't control my feelings. No matter what the future holds, I just want to be with you right now."
Liu Ruyue sighed softly, "But how long can a hidden relationship last, and where do we go from here?"
Sun Zhewen was silent for a moment before saying, "Trust me, I will handle everything. Just give me some time."
Liu Ruyue looked at him, her eyes filled with both anticipation and worry. "Really? But I'm afraid... afraid of losing you, and also afraid of getting hurt."
Sun Zhewen caressed her hair, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Suddenly, a knocking sound came from the car window, startling them. They quickly separated. It turned out the tow truck had finally arrived.
Sun Zhewen smiled awkwardly and got out of the car to negotiate with the tow truck driver. Liu Ruyue sat in the car, tidying up her emotions and hair.
After the car was towed away, Sun Zhewen and Liu Ruyue followed the tow truck back into the city. Standing on the side of the road, the cool night wind blew over them, sobering them up a little.
Sun Zhewen looked at Liu Ruyue and said, "Let me take you home."
Liu Ruyue nodded. They walked slowly under the moonlight, their hands occasionally brushing, only to recoil as if they'd been shocked.
Reaching the building where Liu Ruyue lived, Sun Zhewen stopped. "Get some rest. I'll contact you tomorrow."
Liu Ruyue hummed in agreement and turned to enter the stairwell. Sun Zhewen watched her back disappear before turning to leave.
Back home, it was quiet. Li Zhiyan was already asleep in bed. Sun Zhewen quietly lifted the covers and got in, but even though he was careful, he still woke her. She mumbled sleepily, her voice filled with discontent. "Why are you only just getting back? What time is it?"
Sun Zhewen explained as he lay down, "The car broke down on the road. It was in a remote area, and it took ages for the tow truck to arrive. It was a long night."
Li Zhiyan rubbed her eyes, complaining with a hint of morning grumpiness, "Ugh, it's annoying. I just managed to fall asleep, and you woke me up again. I have to get up early tomorrow."
"Alright, go back to sleep. It's late," Sun Zhewen comforted, reaching out to embrace Li Zhiyan.
However, Li Zhiyan dodged him, sniffing the air suspiciously. "Something's not right. What's that smell? Who were you with? It's not my sister's scent."
Sun Zhewen's heart clenched. He forced a calm tone, saying, "No, I don't think so. Don't overthink things."
"Hmph, don't try to fool me. You have that smell on you, and the smell of a woman." Li Zhiyan sat up abruptly, her eyes filled with suspicion and questions.
Sun Zhewen gave an awkward smile and said, "You really do have a nose like a bloodhound, you're so sensitive."
Li Zhiyan frowned, her expression disgusted. "How disgusting. Go wash it off before you come near me again, or don't touch me."
