Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: I got a cheat code in another world

This is a mysterious otherworld.

[Vampires, werewolves, technology, magic potions, ghosts, cyborgs, divination, puppets—every terrifying element imaginable exists in this world.]

You must carry a lantern when going out.

Cannot go far.

[Ten meters beyond the gate, the darkness outside will engulf you.]

[Whether it's a human, a ghost, or a stitched monster coming to see you, you must stay calm.]

If you are not calm, it will be hostile to you.

By the worn-out table, Lynn held a quill pen and worked by the lamplight.

The diary is filled with the rules he has followed since he arrived in this world two years ago.

Lynn! Time's up! Hang up the sign and get ready to open for business!

A hoarse, bone-chewing sound came.

Lynn shook his head. The voice belonged to the owner of their pharmacy, the very teacher who had saved him two years ago, while he himself was the shop assistant running this medical establishment in the alternate world.

"Here!" Lynn shouted.

But at that very moment, a cold synthetic voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

[Beep! Your Blood Saw Madman teacher issues a mission: Open the shop and hang the Soul Lamp at the entrance. Rewards: 10 Skull Coins, 5 Base Experience Points, and 100ml of Pure Human Blood.]

Lynn was taken aback.

Is this the system?

Could it be that after two years in this world, I've finally awakened my golden finger?

But he did not study immediately, because he knew that if he did not act immediately according to his teacher's orders, he would die.

Lynn quickly walked out of the dim attic.

Right in front of us, his teacher was dragging the corpse of an unidentified creature, severed in two, toward the adjacent operating room.

The crimson blood left a long trail on the mouldy floor.

Pip—pup—

In the operating room, the piercing sound of a chainsaw soon rang out.

The hoarse chewing sound came again.

After opening, sort out all the expired medicines from yesterday and feed them to the little ones in the backyard. Hurry up!

[Beep! Your Blood Saw Madman teacher assigns you this task: Collect expired potions and feed them to the [Little Baby] in the backyard. Rewards: 10 Skull Coins, 10 points deduction from Little Baby's affection, and 1 point increase in Housework Skill.]

Lynn was shocked.

really .

He was right.

This must be your own system. Could it possibly turn every experience you encounter into concrete tasks for the system?

As she heard the sound of chewing behind her, Lynn's expression grew calm.

Chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chir

The creaking of the wooden floor underfoot, long neglected and worn.

Lynn entered the front hall, retrieved the oil lamp from the corner, and twisted its winding mechanism. Drops of crimson blood began to trickle from the lamp's interior onto the fire.

Huh—

A crimson flame lit up.

If you listen closely, you can even hear the faint, piercing screams emanating from inside the oil lamp.

Lynn opened the door carefully, her expression calm.

The outside was shrouded in darkness, with a faint mist swirling around. Occasionally, eerie laughter could be heard from the shadows.

 ,

He remained calm, hanging an oil lamp on the doorpost to illuminate the dilapidated sign nearby.

Blood Saw Pharmacy

[Clink! You've earned 10 Skull Coins, 5x base experience, and 100ml of pure human blood.]

Lynn immediately turned to head back to the pharmacy.

But at that very moment, a low, sinister laugh echoed from the darkness.

Hey there, young man... Good morning! Got any useless junk to give to me, this old lady? I'll pay you handsomely for it, hehehe.

In the dark.

Dim lights flickered as an old woman, hunched over and wearing tattered linen, pulled a cart out of the shadows.

It had a kind smile on its face.

But Lynn clearly saw.

It holds a human-skin lantern in its hand, and the rusty car she pulls is a living appendage on its arm.

[Clink! The Human Skin scavenger offers you an optional quest: Give the [Useless Trash] to the scavenger. Rewards: +10 Scavenger, +20 Skull Coins, and x1 Scavenger's reward.]

Lynn remained calm.

Sure, please wait a moment.

Lynn turned around and hurried back to the pharmacy, grabbing two black bags from the doorway.

In the dimly lit room, the pungent stench of blood from the bag could be detected, and something inside the bag seemed to be struggling, emitting low, hoarse groans.

Lin calmly placed the "useless garbage" into the old woman's car.

"Thank you, young man, you are a good heart."

The smile on the old woman's face has never changed.

She slowly reached out her withered hand and gouged out two bloodshot eyeballs from her own eye sockets.

Young man, this is the reward the old woman gave you.

[Clink! You've earned: +10 Goodwill for the scavenger, +20 Skull Coins!]

[Click! You can accept the reward from the scavenger or refuse. Refusing will reduce the scavenger's好感 by 50.]

Lynn gazed at the two steamy eyes, calmly took them in her hand, and said:

"I took it. Thank you."

The old woman's smile was radiant, yet her hollow eyes were eerily unsettling.

"Good, good!"

Then, under Lynn's watchful gaze, the old woman pulled the cart and slowly disappeared into the darkness.

[Clink! You've earned the scavenger's reward: 1 eyeball from the tailor shop owner, 1 eyeball from the pork shop owner, and +20 scavenger goodwill.]

Lynn stayed calm, but secretly breathed a sigh of relief before heading straight back to the pharmacy.

He learned from his teacher that the tailor shop cut human skin, the pork shop sold human flesh, and both were located across the street from their pharmacy.

Yet the scavenger held the attention of both their bosses.

This is another rule of the world he has summarized.

Never try to offend the walkers in the dark.

Lynn turned around, her expression forced to stay calm.

He sorted through the expired black-and-red bottles on the counter, placing them in his portable medicine box, then turned and headed toward the backyard.

As I walked past the operating room, the rhythmic crunch of surgical blades still echoed in my mind.

Lynn knows.

At this time, he should not disturb his teacher.

If you go, it's not certain who will be on the operating table next.

Lynn came to the backyard.

When I opened the cellar door, a pungent stench hit me instantly, like the stench of long-rotten flesh and excrement.

Hiss—Hiss—

The cellar was filled with mysterious sounds.

Lynn knew the creature in the cellar was the 'little treasure' his teacher had spoken of, though only his teacher knew its true nature.

Lynn poured all the chemicals from her suitcase into the cellar.

[Clink! You've earned 10 Skull Coins, 10 points deducted from your baby's affection, and 1 point added to your furniture mastery.]

roar ——

roar ——

The cellar soon echoed with piercing, furious roars, as waves of blood-soaked air surged toward the face.

Lynn immediately shut the cellar door.

He breathed a sigh of relief.

This is the daily task he does every morning since he became a clerk at this pharmacy.

The key to his survival was his obedience to his master—acting without question. The disobedient servant had already been dismembered by his master and fed to this little treasure.

Lynn composed herself and asked cautiously:

" system ?"

And in that very instant, a panel suddenly appeared before Lynn's eyes.
