Leonardo's POV
"Let's get married again. Joseph remains yours—full custody. And I'll be yours too."
I laid out the clearest path forward for her.
She could have our son back immediately if she just said yes!
What more could she want—the child and husband, both hers for the taking!
"I only want Joseph."
Veronica made her position crystal clear. Her future had room for our son, but not for me.
"Don't you want me at all? I'm healthy now, functioning like any normal man should... you know how good we were together. Why won't you take me back?"
I wasn't backing down. However I'd lost her before, I'd do whatever it took to win her back.
She turned toward me, her stare cutting right through me.
Without warning, she leaned closer.
I instinctively pressed back against the seat, watching her gorgeous face approach mine.
My breath caught. Was she really going for another one of those car kisses?
