"I know... but Mr. Nelson, everything I said is true. Veronica is Trish."
"But she doesn't want to admit it. The result of the test you saw might not even be true. I'm not lying, Mr. Nelson. You can investigate it yourself..."
Right now, I couldn't even begin to describe the shock tearing through me.
The bombshell that "Veronica is Trish" hit me like a freight train—too massive to wrap my head around.
"Fine! I'll investigate it myself! If I find out you're lying to me, I will make sure you vanish without a trace!"
My voice came out ice-cold, dripping with menace. I flicked my hand dismissively. "Take her away!"
"Yes!"
Aarav snapped to attention, motioning his men to drag Kitty out.
I slumped into the single sofa, my brain spinning out of control. Images of Veronica's breathtaking beauty crashed against memories of her cold, arrogant attitude—how could she possibly be the same person as Trish?
Trish had been so sweet, so compliant!
