Chapter 40 - Bonus Chapter 40: Thunder God Falls from the Sky

Everyone present knew who Loki's "thundering guy" referred to.

It was, of course, the focus of everyone's attention: Thor, the God of Thunder.

Crackle, crackle!

At this moment, the scene cut to a vast, stormy sky with lightning and thunder, as a Quinjet flew through the clouds.

Suddenly, a figure descended from the sky and landed directly on the jet.

With a red cape, long golden hair, a rugged face, and a physique as perfect as a bodybuilder's, it was none other than the caped hero who had made a fleeting appearance during the Battle of New York.

This was consistent with everyone's earlier guesses.

"That guy is indeed Thor!"

A glint flashed in Nick Fury's single eye as he murmured, simultaneously fixating on Thor's appearance to commit it to memory.

He planned to draw a portrait of Thor upon his return, preparing for future searches for the Thunder God.

Bang!

As Thor landed, the Quinjet shuddered violently, as if struck by a large rock.

Inside the jet, Captain America and Iron Man stumbled, nearly falling to the ground.

Iron Man immediately put on his helmet, then walked to the cabin door, pressed a button, and opened the jet's hatch.

He clearly intended to go out and investigate the situation.

Bang!

The jet shuddered again, as Thor flew directly in from outside, crashing heavily onto the floor.

Iron Man was about to stop Thor, but before he could do anything, he was knocked to the ground by Thor's hammer.

Thor then grabbed Loki, spun his hammer rapidly, and flew away, carrying Loki with him.

"That guy just shows up out of nowhere!" Iron Man, who had been knocked down, got up and complained.

"Another Asgardian?" Black Widow, who was piloting the jet, turned her head and asked.

"Is that guy one of us?" Captain America also speculated.

"It doesn't matter. Whether he frees Loki or kills Loki, the Tesseract will be gone." After saying this, Iron Man prepared to fly out of the jet to pursue Thor.

"Stark, we need a plan!" Captain America called out to Iron Man from behind him.

"I have a plan: attack!"

Iron Man dropped this line, ignored Captain America, and flew out.

Captain America looked helpless but could only pick up his shield and jump out of the jet as well.

From this conversation, it was clear that this event was taking place after Loki had stolen the Tesseract from S.H.I.E.L.D.

Evidently, Loki had hidden the Tesseract somewhere, and although S.H.I.E.L.D. had captured Loki, they hadn't been able to get him to reveal the Tesseract's whereabouts.

However, at this critical moment, Thor suddenly appeared and took Loki away.

On the screen, the scene continued.

After Thor took Loki, he threw him on a mountainside, and his first question was a demand: "Where is the Tesseract?"

Clearly, Thor knew everything Loki had done on Earth.

"Long time no see, brother." Loki, however, dodged the question.

"Do I look like I'm here for a reunion!" Thor shouted at Loki, his face filled with anger.

"After the Rainbow Bridge was destroyed, do you know how much dark energy Odin had to use to send you back to your beloved Earth?" Loki sat up from the ground. "So you should thank me."

"The Rainbow Bridge, the bridge in myths and legends connecting Asgard and Midgard. I can't believe it's real," Nick Fury sighed softly.

Even with Nick Fury's extensive knowledge and experience, he couldn't remain calm upon learning that these familiar myths were actually true.

"Midgard?" Black Widow didn't immediately react.

"It has another name, which is Earth," Iron Man calmly explained.

He hadn't been so knowledgeable about myths and legends before, but after the first quiz, he had caught up on a lot of information.

Black Widow nodded.

"'Beloved Earth,' it seems Thor might be worth trying to contact," Black Widow then added.

From Loki and Thor's conversation, it was clear that Thor's attitude towards Earth was completely opposite to Loki's.

"Loki, I thought you were dead!"

Thor, somewhat agitated, grabbed Loki and said.

"Did you mourn for me?" Loki remained unmoved.

"We all mourned for you, and so did our father!"

"Your father!" Loki emphasized, then retorted, "Did he tell you about my origins?"

"We were both raised by him, we grew up together, played together, have you forgotten all that?" Thor shouted.

Nick Fury and the others exchanged glances. From the sound of it, Loki didn't seem to be Odin's biological son, but rather adopted?

If Loki could be chosen and adopted by Odin, he must be quite extraordinary.

"I've always had a shadow in my heart, I've always lived in your shadow!"

"I'll never forget that you threw me into the abyss!"

"Who am I? I should have been king!"

Loki launched into his accusations against Thor, his voice filled with immense grievance and anger.

"So you want to conquer the world to compensate for your inexplicable inferiority complex?" Thor countered, questioning him sharply.

"No, I will definitely protect the Earth I cherish!" Thor solemnly declared to Loki.

"Hahaha, you're a very thorough protector indeed!" Loki began to mock him mercilessly. "Humans are slaughtering each other in droves, and you stand by idly! I want to rule them, and you think I can't?"

"Do you think you're stronger than humans?"

"Of course!"

"You don't understand what it means to rule, brother! The throne makes you restless!"

"So~" Black Widow shrugged, "Now it seems Loki might have invaded Earth because he suffered some injustice in Asgard? Like... failing to win the throne?"

Although the full context of the events wasn't clear, Loki's accusations still revealed some information.

"Because Loki failed to win the throne, he wants to rule Earth to experience being king. That sounds reasonable."

Nick Fury also said with an extremely grave expression.

Everyone had always wondered why Loki, an Asgardian, would help the Chitauri invade Earth.

But now, they seemed to be grasping at something
