New week bonus chapter
...
Although the limited information prevented everyone from reaching a definitive conclusion, at least there were clues to follow.
Loki's decision to invade Earth was very likely due to his failure in the struggle for the throne in Asgard, leading him to target Earth as an outlet for his frustration.
Thinking of this, a certain idea in Nick Fury's mind became even more resolute.
Earth was still too weak.
So weak that a dispute between Asgardian princes could bring about Earth's destruction!
This situation had to be broken!
"I have seen worlds you have not, and during my exile, heaven's eyes were upon me, and I witnessed the true power of the Tesseract! When I control it..."
Loki's voice continued, and he began to sound full of vigor and ambition.
"Who showed you? Who is the mastermind behind this?" Thor questioned Loki with a grave expression.
"I am the king!" Loki roared excitedly.
"Stop dreaming, hand over the Tesseract, and give up these absurd fantasies!" Thor sternly shouted at Loki.
"It's not with me," Loki shook his head. "You need the Tesseract to take me back, but it's gone. I don't know where it is."
"Listen to me, brother!" Thor pointed at Loki with a serious face. "I..."
Whoosh!
But before Thor could finish his sentence, several dazzling lights pierced the dark night sky, streaking across like meteors.
It was Iron Man flying from a distance, tackling Thor and carrying him away.
The two of them fell from the mountainside to the bottom of the cliff.
"Try touching me again?" Thor rose from the ground, glaring at Iron Man.
"Then don't touch my stuff!" Iron Man was not intimidated in the slightest.
Everyone understood who "stuff" referred to—it was clearly the captive Loki.
A god from Asgard, no less, being called "stuff" by Iron Man.
Such arrogance and conceit were indeed very Iron Man-like.
"Do you even know who you're talking to?" Thor was already enraged.
"Uh... a theater actor? Does your mom know you stole her cape?" Iron Man said with a venomous tongue.
Nick Fury and Black Widow couldn't help but shake their heads repeatedly, utterly speechless. "Iron Man, are you sure you're not here to cause trouble?"
They privately thought that even if they were in Thor's position, they would be tempted to punch Iron Man.
"Sir, I'm starting to wonder if letting Stark join the Avengers was a mistake," Black Widow couldn't help but quip.
"Did I say something wrong? Doesn't he look like a theater actor?" Iron Man shrugged, completely unconcerned.
"Mind your own business, tin man!" Thor said to Iron Man seriously at this moment. "Loki will be judged by Asgard!"
"As long as he hands over the Tesseract, everything is up to you, but before that, you'd best not get in the way!" After Iron Man threw these two sentences at Thor, he turned and left directly.
It looked like he intended to capture Loki.
But Thor was, after all, a prince of Asgard, and being so brazenly challenged by an Earthling, how could he possibly endure it?
Moreover, Thor couldn't possibly let Iron Man take Loki right under his nose.
He directly swung his hammer at Iron Man, smashing him away with a bang.
"Okay!"
The usually arrogant Iron Man, having been hammered, wouldn't just take it. He fired an energy blast from his palm, hitting Thor directly.
He also sent Thor flying, crashing hard into a large tree.
Then Iron Man shot into the air with a whoosh, kicking Thor.
Thor was sent flying, breaking the large tree behind him.
Such an attack would have killed an ordinary person many times over, yet Thor was completely unaffected, perfectly fine.
He casually got up and began to fight Iron Man.
During this process, Thor's immense power was fully revealed.
He could actually engage in hand-to-hand combat with the Iron Man suit, deforming its arm with his bare hands and denting its helmet with his head.
He could also effortlessly summon lightning with his hammer, controlling it to attack Iron Man.
He was incredibly powerful.
"Is this Thor? He truly lives up to being from Asgard." Black Widow was utterly stunned; she had never seen anyone so powerful.
"He is very powerful," Nick Fury nodded, but without much emotional fluctuation. "But I've seen someone even more powerful."
Thor was undoubtedly powerful, but compared to Captain Marvel, he was still far behind.
"He can hold his own against me; he's not bad," Iron Man also gave a high appraisal.
Indeed, for Iron Man to say "not bad" was a high compliment.
Boom boom boom!
Bang bang bang!
Iron Man and Thor fought from the ground to the sky, then rolled over the mountain peaks, a truly fierce and spectacular battle.
However, just as the two were fighting fiercely, a shield flew from the side, hitting both Thor and Iron Man, separating them.
Then, like Thor's hammer, the shield, after such complex maneuvers, automatically flew back.
Physical laws seemed non-existent.
It was caught by a person.
On a tree branch, Captain America stood overlooking them.
"You two, that's enough! Stop!"
Captain America spoke to Thor and Iron Man, then jumped directly from the high tree branch.
He walked in front of them, gazing at Thor, and asked in a deep voice, "What is your purpose here?"
"I am here to stop Loki's schemes!" Thor also said in a deep voice.
"Then prove it to me! Put down your hammer!" Captain America said to Thor.
"That's not a good idea. He really loves his hammer..." Even at this point, Iron Man still wasn't serious, complaining from the side.
Bang!
But before he finished speaking, Iron Man was smashed away by Thor's hammer.
"You want me to put down my hammer?"
Thor also seemed to have a short temper. He glared at Captain America, leaped several meters into the air, and brought his hammer down on Captain America's head.
Captain America, however, at the critical moment, swung his shield upwards, directly blocking Thor's hammer.
Clang!
A deep, prolonged metallic clang echoed, and a terrifying burst of energy instantly erupted.
Thor was immediately sent flying, and the surrounding trees were pushed down in swathes by the energy impact.
A flat clearing was actually leveled out in the forest.
The power was truly terrifying.
"Are you all done now?" Captain America said after they all struggled to get up.
The few of them looked at each other and called a temporary truce.
The scene ended there.
