Nick Fury knew Iron Man was telling the truth and didn't dwell on it much, immediately starting to inquire about Iron Man's space technology.
"Stark, have you actually developed space technology?" Nick Fury asked, surprised and with a solemn expression.
"No, I didn't develop it, this did." Iron Man held up his "All-Purpose Capsule Pendant."
"All-Purpose Capsule?" Nick Fury was speechless.
He had always thought the All-Purpose Capsule was just a capsule.
He really was too naive.
"Alright, Stark, now that your palladium poisoning problem is solved, can we discuss how you're going to help me investigate Hydra?"
Nick Fury quickly composed himself and began discussing serious matters with Iron Man.
"Nick Fury, I'll develop a set of miniature drones for you, only the size of a fly, but equipped with cameras, capable of recording, filming, surveillance, and even anesthesia. How does that sound?"
Iron Man poured two glasses of red wine, placing one in front of Nick Fury.
"Excellent, thank you for your support, Stark!" Nick Fury raised the red wine in front of him, made a gesture to drink, and then took a small sip.
"Don't thank me, because if you thank me, I'll have to thank you." Iron Man sat down in front of Nick Fury and said unceremoniously, "Where's your plasma lightsaber? Did you bring it?"
This was something Nick Fury had already promised Iron Man, so the Egghead Hero naturally had nothing to hesitate about.
He immediately took out the plasma lightsaber and handed it to Iron Man.
Iron Man's eyes immediately lit up.
In the time that followed, everyone became busy.
Iron Man was researching the plasma lightsaber while also developing those miniature drones for Nick Fury, practically staying cooped up in Stark Tower all day long.
Nick Fury was secretly recruiting suitable personnel to monitor Hydra members in the future, and also overseeing the investigation of the secret base where the Winter Soldier was imprisoned.
And there were many other S.H.I.E.L.D. matters, which goes without saying.
Captain America was getting used to modern society while secretly investigating the bald commander.
As for those on the Project Paperclip list, Captain America didn't have the energy to investigate them yet.
He could only officially begin once Iron Man's drones and Nick Fury's secretly recruited personnel were in place.
Everything was proceeding in an orderly fashion.
A month and a half later, Black Widow brought good news.
"Sir, I've found the exact location of this base."
Black Widow appeared in the office, placing a stack of files in front of Nick Fury.
Nick Fury's spirits lifted. He picked up the file and flipped through it. Not only the exact location, but also some more detailed information was marked on it.
"Sir, we now know where the Winter Soldier is being held. What do you plan to do next?" Black Widow asked, staring at Nick Fury.
"This matter requires careful consideration. Now is not the right time." Nick Fury said with a serious expression after a moment of contemplation.
Through Black Widow's investigation and Nick Fury's clairvoyance, the situation inside that secret base had long been thoroughly understood by everyone.
The defensive forces inside were still quite formidable.
Trying to snatch the Winter Soldier from such a place would definitely not be an easy task.
And Nick Fury didn't know the extent to which Hydra had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. at this point,
Naturally, he dared not act rashly.
Moreover, that base was the only Hydra base Nick Fury had managed to get a hold of so far, to be used for long-term surveillance and to uncover more of Hydra's secrets.
This was the correct way to approach it.
Not to storm the place and expose the base.
Nick Fury actually already had a general idea of how to handle it.
First, remain inactive. Once Iron Man's drones are developed, use them to secretly monitor the base around the clock.
Nick Fury believed there would definitely be great rewards.
As for the Winter Soldier?
The best time was not to break into the enemy's base and forcibly snatch him, but to wait until the Winter Soldier went out on a mission before taking action.
However, the only thing to consider was that they didn't know when the Winter Soldier would carry out a mission or how long they would have to wait.
Whether Captain America could wait that long.
"Sir, there's something you'll definitely be interested in."
Just as he was discussing matters with Black Widow, Coulson also came before Nick Fury. "A meteorite landed in a small town."
"And?" Nick Fury spread his hands.
"Then everyone discovered that the meteorite was actually a hammer." Coulson said, placing several photos in front of Nick Fury.
The photos clearly showed a huge crater in what appeared to be a rural area, a crater created by a meteorite crashing into the ground.
However, at the very center of the crater, it wasn't a meteorite, but a hammer.
"It's this hammer!"
A sharp glint flashed in Nick Fury's single eye.
In the relevant footage from the Q&A system, there was footage of Thor fighting Iron Man, so Nick Fury naturally recognized Thor's hammer.
And the hammer in the crater was exactly the same as Thor's hammer.
"It's Thor's hammer, sir!" Black Widow also said with some surprise.
She knew that Thor would descend to Earth during the future Battle of New York, but she hadn't expected it to be so soon.
"Indeed, it is this hammer."
Coulson also nodded. He had also seen Captain America use this hammer in Endgame, so he naturally recognized it.
"This hammer has a magical power; no one locally can lift it, and some people even tried to drag it with a truck, but it didn't work."
Coulson continued to explain to Nick Fury.
"This is Thor's hammer, so of course not just anyone can pick it up. So where's Thor? Have you found any trace of him?"
Nick Fury asked, staring at Coulson.
"I think he should be in the hospital." Coulson shrugged. "A few locals accidentally hit a homeless man, and then responsibly took him to the hospital."
"It turns out the homeless man has mental issues, constantly saying he's Thor, son of Odin, and so on."
"Currently, he's being treated as a mental patient and is confined in the hospital."
