The atmosphere in the hall became a bit strange, and Nick Fury and Black Widow exchanged glances, both feeling an extreme sense of exasperation.
"Coulson, are you saying that lunatic is Thor?" Black Widow asked, somewhat incredulously.
"Yes, that's what I'm trying to say," Coulson replied seriously, placing a few more photos in front of Nick Fury and Black Widow.
The photos clearly showed a young man in a hospital gown, and that young man looked almost identical to the portrait of Thor provided by Nick Fury.
Such a coincidence couldn't exist in the world, and although it seemed incredibly unbelievable, everyone had to admit the fact.
That "lunatic" was indeed Thor.
But precisely because of this, everyone felt even stranger.
That was Thor! In the video, he utterly crushed Iron Man with such might, so how did he end up in such a miserable state?
A "homeless man," a "lunatic," hit by a car, and his Mjolnir was somehow lost. This was truly too tragic!
Nick Fury and the others couldn't bear to listen anymore.
It was too embarrassing. No, it was too embarrassing for a god.
"Nick Fury, what are you thinking?" Black Widow quickly made a judgment. "Could this be Thor's passive arrival on Earth, and this is when Thor met Dr. Selvig?"
This was consistent with everyone's previous deductions.
Whether it was failing to win the throne or being banished by Odin, whatever the reason, this downtrodden image certainly fit the hypothetical condition of a passive arrival.
It was also under these circumstances that Thor might have met Dr. Selvig, formed a friendship with him, and confided his true identity.
"It's possible!" Nick Fury nodded, then made a decision. "Coulson, Romanoff, prepare yourselves. Let's go meet our fallen prince."
Without further ado, everyone made a series of arrangements and quickly headed towards the small town.
In the afternoon, Nick Fury and his companions appeared at the entrance of the town.
"Is this it, Coulson?"
Nick Fury surveyed the unremarkable, even somewhat backward, town and asked casually.
"Yes, sir, this is it," Coulson nodded.
"Immediately cordon off the area and don't allow anyone near that hammer," Nick Fury gave a crisp order. "Romanoff, you come with me to the hospital."
Just as they were about to split up, an incredibly flashy luxury sports car drove straight towards them.
It immediately drew everyone's attention.
In such a small place, cars of this caliber usually wouldn't appear.
And the person driving the luxury car was quite arrogant, not slowing down even when they were very close.
It wasn't until they were almost upon them that the car executed a sudden, elegant drift and emergency brake, stopping steadily right in front of them.
It kicked up a cloud of dust.
Bang!
The car door opened, and a figure that didn't surprise anyone at all emerged from the car: Iron Man.
Iron Man had been continuously monitoring information related to Thor's Hammer, Thor, and other relevant details via J.A.R.V.I.S. Therefore, when someone in this small town shared the strange hammer on social media, J.A.R.V.I.S. detected it immediately.
And so, naturally, Iron Man also arrived here.
"Agent, miss me?" Iron Man, wearing sunglasses, asked Black Widow with a flamboyant air.
"Stark, you're everywhere," Nick Fury said, quite exasperated and with a hint of defeat.
S.H.I.E.L.D., such a vast intelligence agency, seemed to have no secrets from Iron Man, who always managed to run into them during their operations.
"Alright, enough talk. You're here for Thor too, right? Then let's go. With you guys, I'll have less trouble!"
Iron Man unceremoniously beckoned to Nick Fury and the others, then got straight into his luxury car and started the engine.
He truly didn't treat himself as an outsider at all.
"Let's split up!"
Nick Fury then waved to Coulson and Black Widow, and they also got into their respective cars.
Before long, Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Iron Man appeared inside the town's hospital.
Nick Fury and Iron Man, the two bigwigs, chatted idly while Black Widow was tasked with the legwork.
For example, negotiating with the hospital to take Thor away.
This was a piece of cake for Black Widow. Nick Fury and Iron Man hadn't even exchanged many words when Black Widow returned with a doctor.
"Officer, the patient's emotional state is very unstable right now, and he has severe violent tendencies. Now is not the best time to take him away," the doctor kindly told them.
"It's fine, just take us to him," Nick Fury said, glancing calmly at the doctor.
The doctor didn't say much more, leading the officers to a ward on the third floor.
"Let me go!"
"Do you know who I am?!"
"How dare you treat me like this!"
...Before even entering the ward, they could hear angry roars coming from inside.
That voice was identical to Thor's voice shown in the video, so Thor's identity was practically beyond doubt.
After casually dismissing the doctor, Iron Man, Nick Fury, and Black Widow pushed open the door and entered, coming face to face with Thor.
They saw Thor currently restrained on the hospital bed, struggling and roaring, wearing a hospital gown, twisting his body powerlessly against the restraints, but to no avail.
There wasn't a single trace of the Domineering (dominance/awe-inspiring presence) Thor should have, truly no significant difference from an ordinary mental patient.
"Nick Fury, I think we might have made a mistake, haven't we? Is he really Thor?"
Iron Man looked at the disheveled man on the hospital bed, unable to reconcile him with an entity like Thor.
It was simply too incongruous.
"Mr. Thor," Nick Fury, however, ignored Iron Man's complaint and walked directly to Thor's side.
"I'm Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.D. I know your true identity, and we're here to take you away, so please calm down, alright?"
Nick Fury walked towards Thor with a serious expression.
