Chapter 2 - Departure

Opening my eyes, I saw a white floor with beautiful patterns in front of me.

I lay like that for about 5 minutes.

And then, at that moment...

*Dzyng*

Like lightning to the head, someone else's memories came. Someone else's, not mine, but someone else's, which I never had. Who were they? I didn't know them, and these memories forced their way into my head. The pain was sharp, as if you'd been hit with a sledgehammer. That pain... I almost screamed, since I didn't know where I was, and it was dangerous.

And so about another 5 minutes passed until the pain finally subsided, and I realized that I had ended up in another world, and this world was my novel, because from the memories I saw it.

Ast Academy is an academy for heroes. Anyone could apply and take the test, but few passed it because it was very difficult. This academy was famous for producing the strongest masters, such as Sword Masters, Spear Masters, and Magic Masters.

"Ahhh," I groaned. This was the most terrible pain I had ever experienced in my life.

When the pain subsided, I looked around and realized I was in some kind of house. There was only a wooden bed, made of wood, that was clear because my back hurt from lying on it, and a fireplace. It was visible that the fireplace had recently died down because it was still a little warm. I was lying on the bed, wrapped in a jacket. The jacket was an ordinary black jacket, most likely a winter one.

So, I got up and went to the window. And what I saw there shocked me.

Blood, blood, and blood. Everywhere there was only blood.

Ah, no.

There was also snow.

It was as if I was in the north.

But in the north lived... them.

The demons.

The demons lived in the north because from there they began their conquest. They came from Antarktida.

Antarktida is the coldest land. Few set foot there; it was dangerous, and the terrain was not fully explored because many died from organ frostbite and couldn't deliver information, or they were met with disaster—death by demons.

Today is November 25, 2099. Soon it will be 2100, and the main character will enter the academy named Ast. Alex.

"Hmmm," Leon's voice sounded.

I don't know who I possessed. From the memories, there was only one battle. He killed those demons that were lying outside. Severed limbs, heads missing, blood soaking the snow. The air smelled of blood; the smell was like that.

And he also had a family. The family ordered him to leave because he was a disgrace to the family. He left this family several months ago, more precisely in July.

And all this time he was alone. He fought against demons, lost friends because he went north, found friends, but lost them because he was weak.

These memories weren't mine, but it was sad to watch them. And the most important thing: he wasn't in the novel. He was just an extra, not a secondary character, but just an extra who was supposed to die. And yes, he died, because I possessed his body, most likely he died, but from what exactly remains a mystery.

After thinking a little, I turned and started looking for paper and a pen. After a minute, I found paper and a pen. Sitting down at the table, I started writing.

The events that should happen this year and next, and so on. Since he was the author, he remembered the moments. Having written down the important things, he folded it and put it in his pocket.

"Okay, so if it's November now, that means the nearest event will be the demons. I remember how the main character went north to find a person. He went there because his family ordered him to find and save a person, more precisely, his father. He gathered people, an army, and went towards the north, and possibly he is already moving here," I thought.

And in the north, he will find someone... but I must take her before him, because she was useful, and the main character simply killed her. Because of that, it happened that in the academy arc she appeared and destroyed almost half of the academy. She is a disaster, you could say. The most terrible disaster. And I would like to save her because her death was so sad. Some readers didn't like it, and me neither. But I couldn't change the plot because of her. So yes, she died. But since I will go to the academy, I'll submit an application for admission, and if I pass... I don't want to die by her hand.

Weighing all the pros and cons, I stood up.

And set off on the path to the demons' castle.
