A wave of invigorating sound echoed in his ears. Having just completed his daily good deed, Xu Fan let out a long breath of relief, a smile appearing on his face as he carefully felt the strengthening of his body.

"It's been over ten years since I came to this world, and I've finally reached level twenty! Maybe with just one more awakening, I'll be able to master magic!"

Xu Fan's thoughts moved, and a light screen only he could see appeared before him, displaying his digitized body data.

Xu Fan:

Level: 20

Stamina: 2000 / 2000

Mana: 1200 / 1200

Physical Attack: 350

Magic Attack: 400

Awakened Spells:

Gold: None

Wood: None

Water: None

Fire: None

Earth: None

A few simple lines of data appeared, and Xu Fan smiled. This interface was far too familiar to him.

It was from his favorite childhood online game in his previous life. In that game, a character could only master spells from one of the five elements.

Even so, each element contained offensive, supportive, and obstructive spells—truly a "Full-Time Mage" experience.

But perhaps due to the rules of this world, Xu Fan could feel that he would be able to awaken all five elemental spells.

When he first transmigrated into this magical world, Xu Fan was still level zero. After eight years of gutting fish at Darunfa, along with doing good deeds consistently over the years, he had finally reached level twenty.

His intuition told him that level twenty was a special turning point, and reaching it before Awakening Day would surely bring enormous benefits!

Xu Fan looked towards the back mountain. A few hours earlier, his neighbor Mo Fan had run in that direction as if possessed.

Even though Xu Fan had tried everything to stop him, it seemed Mo Fan's transmigration was predestined, and even he, another transmigrator, couldn't change it.

"Xu Fan, where did Mo Fan run off to again? Uncle Mo is looking for him everywhere!"

A light, gentle voice sounded behind him. Xu Fan turned to see a delicate girl slowly pushing her wheelchair toward him.

He quickly went behind her and began pushing the chair.

"Don't worry about him. That guy loves running to the back mountains. He'll be back by dinner!"

Xu Fan chuckled. Mo Fan was about to undergo his "pauper-to-prince" transformation. He wondered whether there was another Xu Fan in the world Mo Fan came from.

Xu Fan didn't know why he suddenly transmigrated into this magical world. In his memories, a woman had abandoned him and Ye Xin Xia to Mo Jiaxing.

Thinking back now, that woman must have been Ye Xin Xia's biological mother, Salang. He just didn't know where she had picked him up.

However, Xu Fan knew clearly that he and Ye Xin Xia shared no blood relation. After spending more than ten years together, while Xu Fan still fantasized about the "little forest" outside, Ye Xin Xia's familial affection had already begun to shift.

"Uncle Mo has been under a lot of pressure lately. You know Mo Fan's grades. Today, Uncle Mo even said he wanted Mo Fan to follow you to Darunfa to gut fish!"

Ye Xin Xia gently patted Xu Fan's hands on her shoulders as she spoke helplessly. Although Xu Fan had been earning money to support the two of them since he was young, he was still just an ordinary person. Sending Ye Xin Xia to school was already his limit.

"Don't worry. Not long ago, Mo Fan had his fortune told by that mystic under the bridge. He said Mo Fan has the 'Hidden Dragon' fate and might be about to soar!"

Xu Fan laughed as he pushed Ye Xin Xia home.

Sure enough, as dusk fell, Mo Fan's howling came from next door.

"Xin Xia, you eat first. Leave the dishes when you're done; I'll clean up later!"

Xu Fan estimated the time accurately, put down his bowl, and spoke. Although Ye Xin Xia was curious about what Xu Fan was going to do, she didn't ask, trusting him completely.

Just as Xu Fan stood up, a sudden knock came from outside.

"Xin Xia, Xu—Xu Fan, are you home?"

Mo Fan called out nervously. He had accepted that he had transmigrated into a parallel world, but Xu Fan's existence filled him with uncertainty.

"I'm here. Mo Fan, what brings you here so late?"

Xu Fan responded as he strode to the door. After stepping out, he didn't invite Mo Fan inside but closed the door behind him and stared at him.

"The weather's nice today. Let's take a walk."

Xu Fan said mysteriously, leading Mo Fan down the street.

"You… you knew I would come looking for you?"

Mo Fan felt uneasy at Xu Fan's unusual behavior and quickly followed.

Xu Fan remained silent. Though anxious, Mo Fan could only follow.

Just as Mo Fan was about to ask again, Xu Fan finally stopped.

"I once had a very good friend. Even though he lived in a world that believed in science, he firmly believed in magic. He even created a mysterious world all by himself."

"He once told me that he was originally from a world of magic and suddenly found himself in a technological world!"

"Planning to 'pretend to be weak to strike hard later,' he instantly became a real weakling instead. Fortunately, he was extremely intelligent and quickly adapted!"

"At the time, I thought he was just making things up. After all, chuunibyou stories are everywhere. But then I accidentally came to this world… and met him, the one who wanted to 'play the pig to eat the tiger'!"

Xu Fan turned to look directly at Mo Fan. His sharp gaze made Mo Fan tense up.

"And that friend… is named Mo Fan."

Xu Fan smiled, but his words sent chills down Mo Fan's back.

"Then aren't you some kind of old monster?!"

Mo Fan's thoughts jumped wildly in the worst possible direction.

"Material conditions determine consciousness. I can feel that my mind and physical age are the same."

Xu Fan said with a strange expression. His past-life memories didn't affect him much, aside from giving him more knowledge.

"Ahem, alright, let's not dwell on useless things. Next… it's time for our secret code!"

Xu Fan grinned, and Mo Fan finally relaxed. Meeting someone from his own world in another world gave him a strange sense of security.

"Odd changes, even doesn't!"

Mo Fan swung his arms, squatted into a horse stance, performed a "Wild Horse Parts Its Mane," and shouted loudly.

"Sign depends on the quadrant!"

Xu Fan's heart stirred. He stood on one leg in a "Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg" pose while spreading his arms like a "White Crane Spreads Its Wings."
