Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: Rotating Magnetic Field!

"In theory, I can let you tap into a portion of Magnet Release right now."

Magnet Kiyohara spoke up.

At its core, Magnet Release is the product of using and fusing Wind and Earth chakra simultaneously.

A simple statement—but a chasm in practice. Very few shinobi ever crossed it.

"?"

Kiyohara practically felt a question mark pop out of his forehead.

"Then why didn't you say that earlier?"

"If I did, you wouldn't grow. A true shinobi must be more underhanded, more ruthless, and more domineering than any Mist ninja."

"…"

Good thing Kiyohara hadn't decided to hand everything over to Magnet Kiyohara.

Even without his help, he had other ways to escape that last exchange.

Your future selves… wouldn't always be reliable.

Right now, he understood that very clearly.

What if someday a future "him" showed up who was anti-shinobi world—and whose last wish was to carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan? Or join Ōtsutsuki Kaguya in ruling the world?

Would Black Zetsu just get himself a new "father"?

"So how are you going to help?" Kiyohara asked, looking into the fog.

With the mist covering them, he could safely reveal a bit of Magnet Release without being spotted.

He already had Wind Release, and had been training Earth Release. That was enough to plant the right seeds.

After all, the Academy didn't test chakra natures. They only taught the Three Basic Techniques; graduation was based on those.

In the original story, Naruto didn't know his chakra type at all until three years after graduation—when Kakashi showed him chakra paper.

Because even Kakashi hadn't known.

With Magnet Kiyohara's help, Kiyohara had already learned Subterranean Voyage at high speed. Everyone would just assume he naturally had Earth affinity.

In that case, revealing Magnet Release eventually was just a matter of timing.

"Like this…" Magnet Kiyohara said.

He slipped into Kiyohara's body and guided his chakra.

Suddenly, Kiyohara felt something new surge within him.

Magnetism.

He understood instantly.

This wasn't just guidance in shaping chakra.

Obito had managed to pass Mangekyō power to Kakashi even after death; Dan Katō had refilled Tsunade's Strength of a Hundred Seal from beyond the grave.

Souls carried power.

Even if Magnet Kiyohara wasn't exactly a soul—more like a spiritual "data copy"—he still carried traces of his living strength.

"Get a feel for it. My Magnet Release isn't like anyone else's," Magnet Kiyohara said.

As he spoke, Kiyohara felt the magnetic force wrap around his body and stretch outward.

"My style works by tugging on the surrounding magnetic field," Magnet Kiyohara continued, explaining what he'd developed.

Each Magnet user had their own domain.

Shukaku, the One-Tails, had Magnet Release.

Most likely, that was the original source—a power adapted from the bijū into a human-usable version. Son Gokū of Iwa had learned Lava Release from the Four-Tails in the same way.

The Third Kazekage had taken Magnet Release to its peak, using Iron Sand—earning the title "Strongest Kazekage."

After he disappeared, chaos threatened, and Suna rushed Rasa into the seat as Fourth Kazekage.

Rasa also had Magnet Release—controlling gold dust, which conveniently solved a lot of Suna's financial problems.

Later, the method spread, and Kumo's Toroi also awakened Magnet Release.

Magnet Kiyohara had studied the real-world concept: magnetic fields created by moving charges and magnetic materials.

For ninja, though, it was all still chakra nature.

Wielders of Magnet Release or certain secret techniques could transform chakra in their bodies into a force that mimicked or generated powerful magnetic fields.

"And my development… is to apply magnetism to the body itself. I call it: Magnet Release: Rotating Magnetic Field," he declared.

Listening to him, Kiyohara couldn't help feeling like he was listening to some amateur scientist.

Did this really line up with physics?

Still—Magnet Kiyohara was a master in this field. It was worth trying.

In the next moment, Kiyohara felt a crushing weight settle over him.

Like he'd put on a suit of iron armor. Breathing grew difficult.

"My jutsu links the local magnetic field lines to you, drawing in and aligning with the planet's existing magnetic field. In other words—we're using 'borrowed power'," Magnet Kiyohara explained.

Kiyohara felt it.

Within a few meters around him, the magnetic field shifted.

The planet didn't just hold "world chakra."

It also had a magnetic field.

Through special jutsu, if you rotated that field in the right way, you could tap into some of its residual energy.

Just a little.

But when he moved his body, the power made the air crack with sound.

That borrowed power came with a cost—without constant magnetic jutsu control, his body would tear itself apart. Bones would shatter instantly.

No matter what, the spell's effect was limited. In the end, the body's durability still mattered most.

But right now, it was enough.

"Hss… ha…"

Kiyohara exhaled.

A white mist slipped from his mouth and curled backward past his cheek.

He leaned into the feeling.

At the moment, Magnet Kiyohara was maintaining everything. Kiyohara himself couldn't control this power yet.

Not until he fulfilled that future's last wish.

"Good thing I inherited some of Rogue Kiyohara's physical strength. Otherwise, I probably couldn't move at all," he thought.

Every step felt heavy.

But he still had Leaf Body Flicker.

In an instant, he vanished.

Schk! Schk!

Two more bursts of blood sprayed.

This time, the sounds were deeper, heavier.

If before it was like slashing a neck, this was like smashing it off with an iron bar.

The sheer force twisted the air into rotating currents.

Magnet Release: Rotating Magnetic Field.

"What kind of monstrous jutsu is that? Or is this his true strength?" Mei's face drained of some color.

She assumed Kiyohara had simply gotten much stronger in the month or two since she'd last seen him.

She had no idea this was the power of substitution.

Right now, he was like a runaway dump truck rampaging through the fog.

The Mist technique had become their cage.

The last two or three Mist shinobi clenched their weapons.

Regret crept in.

Why hadn't they picked a different landing route?

Like Mei, most of them had no Wind affinity.

Even if they forced out a Wind Release, it would barely scratch this situation.

Outside the fog, Kakashi could see the turbulence through his Sharingan.

But from out here, they couldn't feel the full impact.

"Kakashi, what's happening?" Rin asked, worry tightening her face.

"Kiyohara's safe for now. Looks like he's got them pinned," Kakashi said, frowning.

The lime fog hampered them as well.

"That guy… feels a bit different somehow," Masaru muttered, scowling.

He still couldn't see anything—fog pressed in on all sides.

But the Kaguya's battle instincts screamed at him.

Something had changed.

And in a way that did not favor him.

The Kaguya were a clan of pure fighters. Masaru trusted his instincts absolutely.

"Mei, get ready to use Wind Release," he ordered.

Mei didn't have Wind affinity, but as a prodigy, she'd picked up plenty of off-element ninjutsu.

"Understood," she said with a firm nod.

Masaru turned his gaze back toward the fog.

His blood was boiling.

Yes—this was the kind of opponent he wanted.

"I'm going to bring you down!" he shouted.

Mei stood ready beside him, forming seals.

She could feel it. Bonds—between comrades, for once.

Together, they'd take Kiyohara down.
