Chapter 6 - always with you

Jace's eyebrows shoot up, and he leans in, intrigued. "Ooh, a secret admirer?"

Han rolls his eyes, answering the phone. "Hello?"

A smooth, low voice comes through the line. "Hey, Han. My name's Evan. I hope I'm not calling at a bad time."

Han's expression is neutral, but Jace can tell he's not interested. "What can I do for you, Evan?" Han asks, his tone polite but distant.

Evan's voice is like honey, and Han can practically hear the smile on his face. "I just wanted to introduce myself. I saw you around, and I couldn't help but notice how captivating you are."

Jace's eyes widen, and he mouths "captivating?" to Han, who shoots him a warning look.

Han's voice is firm but friendly. "Thanks, Evan, but I'm not really looking for anyone right now."

Evan's voice doesn't falter. "I understand, but I think we could have something special, Han. Would you like to grab coffee with me sometime?"

Han's about to decline, but Jace jumps in, grabbing the phone from Han's hand. "Hey, Evan, sorry to interrupt, but Han's not interested. Please don't call him again."

There's a pause, and Evan's voice is tinged with surprise. "And who is this?"

Jace's grin is back. "I'm Han's protector. Trust me, you're not his type."

The line goes dead, and Han looks at Jace, a mix of amusement and annoyance on his face. "Jace, what are you doing?"

Jace shrugs, handing the phone back to Han. "Just looking out for you, Han. You deserve better than some random guy hitting on you."

At night

The moon casts a silver glow over the quiet neighborhood as Taejoon stands shrouded in shadows, his eyes fixed on Han's sleeping form. The dark aura surrounding him seems to pulse with an otherworldly energy, a stark contrast to the peaceful scene before him.

Han stirs in his sleep, sensing a presence. His eyes flicker open, and he sits up, his gaze scanning the room. He feels it – that unmistakable feeling of being watched. His heart beats a little faster as he throws off the covers and pads to the window.

He looks out, his eyes searching the darkness. The street is empty, the houses quiet. For a moment, he thinks he must have been dreaming, but then he sees it – a fleeting glimpse of a figure disappearing into the shadows.

Taejoon's eyes lock with Han's, all han could see is dark shadow, for a split second before he vanishes, leaving behind only the faintest hint of his presence. Han's breath catches, and he leans forward, his face pressed against the glass.

But there's no one there. The street is empty, and the silence is oppressive. Han's eyes narrow, wondering if he really saw what he thought he did. Or was it just his imagination playing tricks on him?

He shakes his head, chuckling wily, and returns to bed, the darkness outside forgotten – for now. As he drifts off to sleep, a faint smile plays on his lips, and he whispers a name: "Taejoon..."
