Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Jealousy and Friendship

Today's hunt went surprisingly smoothly; they returned to the tribe with plentiful spoils.

Upon returning to the tribe, many Omeginas ran out to welcome the Beastmen, discovering Rowan really returned with them.

They couldn't help exclaiming in surprise: "Is there really an Omegina who can confront Beastmen and go hunting? I thought this morning's words were all rumors."

"Hmph, who knows if the Beastmen let him win. Which Beastman in the tribe would hit an Omegina? Surely he just followed Leo and everyone out, causing them more trouble," Arnold said sarcastically.

Ever since his confession was rejected by Leo, Arnold had remained unwilling to give up, especially when Leo always sought out Rowan, which made him unable to let it go.

Those Omeginas who witnessed it with their own eyes in the morning couldn't stand hearing this; wasn't this insinuating they were lying?

They argued with Arnold in unison; Yanan also interjected in a small voice from the side: "I think Rowan really has ability."

Arnold felt the fire of jealousy flaring up in his heart; unable to contain his anger, he turned and left.

This little drama overshadowed the joy of the tribe's bountiful harvest today.

Leo led the Beastmen to distribute the prey, specially keeping some for those Beastmen who contributed the most today. Of course, there was also a share for Rowan, and the Beastmen had no objections.

This Omegina truly surprised the Beastmen greatly, completely overturning their perception of Omeginas; they wondered what Rowan's background actually was.

Rowan didn't accept that special reward, only taking the portion Leo usually gave him.

"Give this to Uncle Asa; distribute the rest to the Omeginas in the tribe. Just this much is enough for me." Rowan's original intention was to lend the tribe a hand, considering it repaying Asa's care for him.

Seeing this, Leo didn't refuse; anyway, with him here, he wouldn't let Rowan go hungry.

Rowan took the prey and left; on the way back, he always felt a pair of eyes staring at him. Actually, when hunting with the Beastmen, he already had this feeling.

Rowan returned to his cave, only to see an unfamiliar Omegina squatting in front of his door.

Before he could ask, that Omegina said arrogantly: "What method did you use to seduce Leo? Didn't you know I liked him first? Stay away from him for me."

Hearing this, Rowan was stunned; only then did he realize he had been misunderstood. He almost forgot he was considered an Omegina here; close interactions with Beastmen easily caused misunderstandings.

Rowan explained: "Leo and I are just friends, not the relationship you think."

"Hmph, I'm not that easily fooled. Recently Leo has been bringing prey only to you, and even said something about not accepting any Beastman's confession anymore; I see he only accepts you. Truly a green tea bitch." Arnold was angry; another green tea Omegina seducing Leo.

In the tribe, accepting prey brought by a Beastman meant that Omegina had agreed to the Beastman's pursuit. But Rowan was an outsider, suffering a loss for not knowing the tribe's unspoken rules.

This was the first time Rowan experienced the troublesome feeling of an Alpha encountering an Omegina, unable to explain clearly even with reason.

But he knew he had to yield to this haughty Omegina, so he said according to his wish: "Alright, in the future, I will tell Leo not to bring it anymore. He just conveniently brought a portion for Asa and handed it to me by the way."

Arnold was momentarily choked by Rowan's gentle attitude. Shouldn't he be arguing endlessly with him right now? According to past experience, it was so.

"Then why did you follow Leo hunting today? Don't you know doing so will cause more trouble for the Beastmen? Hunting while making Beastmen distract themselves to take care of you, truly insensible." Arnold found a point to criticize.

Rowan went along: "Fine, I won't go with them anymore."

Arnold was truly furious to death, feeling like punching a bag of cotton. How could an Omegina argument have the other person yielding step by step, giving him the illusion of being coaxed by a Beastman.

"Then you'd better remember what you said today, otherwise... hmph." Arnold left a threat and walked away arrogantly.

For the first time, Rowan felt General Orion's words were very useful; Omeginas truly had to be coaxed, no wonder he was a wife-slave.

Returning to the cave, Rowan started training as usual. From today's results, it could be seen that daily practice still had an effect. After practicing, he rested immediately.

Nothing happened that night.

Rowan had always been very keen with his intuition; he really didn't know how long that person intended to hide.

Today Yanan came directly to find Rowan, inviting him to his house for a meal.

"Do you remember you said you would come to my house to play... Yesterday Genia hunted a wild boar; come to my house to eat?" Yanan opened his mouth somewhat hesitantly; he was afraid Rowan would refuse, as their relationship wasn't very close yet.

"Okay, I'll go over with you." Rowan gave up the idea of trying to hunt alone today, accepting Yanan's invitation.

Rowan found it a bit hard to refuse Yanan; every time this Omegina spoke to him, he was a bit reserved. He hoped Yanan could be more open and magnanimous.

His personality was truly too timid, easily bullied.

Hearing this, Yanan smiled immediately: "That's great, I cook very well; Genia praises me often. You can taste my cooking skills."

He somewhat shyly led Rowan to his house; on the way, quite a few Omeginas looked at Rowan curiously.

Yanan knew what they were curious about; being able to befriend such a formidable Omegina made him feel honored by association. Usually walking with a stoop, now he held his head a bit higher.

Just returning to his familiar cave, Yanan immediately relaxed his whole body, telling Rowan to sit aside and wait for him to cook.

"Did you really go hunting with the Beastmen yesterday? How did you manage to beat a Beastman? That's amazing." Yanan couldn't contain himself, asking, his eyes looking at Rowan filled with admiration.

Rowan casually helped add some firewood, thought for a moment, then said: "Just skills I figured out myself; winning against a Beastman made them agree to let me go along."

"That's so good; I never thought an Omegina could challenge a Beastman. You really are too strong. If only I could be like you." Yanan couldn't help sighing.

"Actually, it's not hard; you can also strengthen your body through exercise." Rowan had seen Omegas with very good physiques before.

"Really? Then can you teach me a few moves? If I master them, can I also go hunting with Genia? That way Genia won't have to work so hard anymore." Yanan looked at Rowan expectantly.

Rowan shook his head: "No, teaching you to exercise and strengthen your physique is fine, but hunting is too dangerous."

He couldn't let an Omegina do such a dangerous thing.

"Alright then. Exercising is also good; that way I won't get sick easily." Yanan knew his small body couldn't go out to hunt, but still held a little hope.

Just like that, Yanan chatted with Rowan while cooking. Before long, the aroma from the stone pot wafted out.

Rowan felt a bit hungry just smelling it.

Yanan scooped the cooked meat soup for Rowan, watching him taste it.

"Very delicious, really good." Rowan praised. Yanan immediately beamed with joy: "Then let's eat."
