Cassian walked into the packhouse. Despite his large strides, they weren't hurried. He moved with effortless grace that came naturally to him.
At the side, the servants that saw him stepped to the side, their heads bowed, but instead of Cassian responding to their greetings. It was Kevin who smiled at every one of them in his stead.
Soon, they stood before a pair of large double doors. Numerous voices could be heard inside. Unsurprisingly, they were arguing.
"He said he would come. Just calm down and wait a little more, Julius," one of the elders said.
"Don't tell me to calm down. When is he getting here? We have waited long enough…"
Elder Julius protested, but his words were cut short when the door opened, and Cassian stood at the entrance. Whatever warmth he had in him before he got here disappeared into oblivion.
He walked inside, his gaze sweeping the entirety of the room. No one spoke. They just remained silent, staring back at him and some of them fidgeting.
