Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: A Good Hunger for Losing Weight

Of course, there were Beastmen who sympathized.

Mia had just finished speaking.

A tall figure emerged from the crowd, holding a piece of roasted meat, and walked straight towards Cynthia.

The man had a tall and slender build, his features were exceptionally beautiful, even more so than a woman's, with blood-red lips and slightly upturned eyes, carrying a hint of allure.

Yet he didn't appear effeminate; the animal skin wrapped around his waist added a wild beauty.

He was very attractive, impossible to look away from, and the object of admiration for many females in the tribe.

This was the original owner's third Beast Husband, Kian Sterling, whose true form was the Nine-Tailed White Fox, a Fifth-rank Beastman.

Luna remembered that the Nine-Tailed White Fox Clan was very powerful on this continent and even ruled the entire Beast King City, considered aristocracy.

She didn't know if Kian had any ties to the Beast King City or why he had joined The Wolf Tribe.

The only certainty was, that every year when the tribe's Beastmen went to trade salt with the Beast King City, Kian never went.

As Cynthia pondered these things.

Kian's footsteps had already stopped in front of her, handing her the roasted meat, he said with an indifferent expression, "Take it."

Without any emotion.

This scene stunned the Beastmen and females present.

Including Mia, who looked at Kian in disbelief as if unable to understand why he did such a thing.

Doesn't he also dislike Cynthia very much?

But then, remembering that the meat Cynthia usually ate was also given by him, she felt stifled again.

Kian indeed disliked Cynthia but never failed to give her meat, being considered a very responsible Beast Husband.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have become this plump.

Cynthia glanced at him, reached out with a smile, took the roasted meat, and said, "Thank you."

Her voice was crisp and pleasant, like a nightingale, completely at odds with her ugly, acne-covered face full of sores.

Kian looked at her strangely; it was the first time he heard the word "thank you" from her mouth.

Every time he gave her meat, she always took it for granted and never said thank you.

If the meat was less or of poor quality, she would even curse with a bad attitude.

Though he found her behavior strange today, he didn't dwell on it.

He was about to turn and leave.

But recalling her usual demeanor, he quickly added, "I just don't want people to think I can't even provide for a female."

With that, he turned and left.

Mia heard this and burst out laughing, her gaze mocking.

Before she could say anything sarcastic.

A few pieces of meat flew from different directions, landing at Cynthia's feet as if throwing rubbish.

A total of three pieces, from different animals.

She looked towards where the meat had flown from and found it was thrown by Rhys Blackwood, Zeke Veridian, and Merrick Arcanus.

Corbin Crowley didn't offer any; he sat alone eating roasted meat, not appearing to have any issues, leaving the handling of the aphrodisiac fruit's effects unknown.

Luna knew Corbin loathed her, unwilling to even make a façade of goodwill.

But she didn't mind; she'd used the aphrodisiac fruit and kicked him, yet expected him to offer meat—how could that be possible?

Though the one who used the aphrodisiac fruit was the original owner, it was no different from her own doing.

Mia looked on, her jealousy nearly unconcealed, coldly mocked, "It's just charity from them."

Cynthia looked at her coldly, saying nothing.

Mia was correct; those three pieces of meat were indeed charity from them, thrown like trash to a beggar.

Her expression chilled, wishing to hurl the meat back at those men's faces.

But having struggled through the apocalypse, she valued food's worth, deciding not to refuse it.

Though the act was somewhat insulting, the meat was of good quality, clearly fresh.

Being hungry makes one truly uncomfortable.

She was about to bend down to pick up the meat.

A man's voice, laced with anger, suddenly rang in her ears, "Don't pick it up."

Cynthia paused, looked sideways, and saw a man with an angry face striding over.

His ordinary features were somewhat determined, his tall body only covered by an animal skin at the waist, his feet bare, skin a healthy wheat color.

This was the original owner's brother, Mason Sutton, a Fourth-stage Beastman.

In The Wolf Tribe, his strength was quite impressive, second only to her five Beast Husbands.

Likewise, he disliked the original owner, ignoring her mostly, though why he suddenly got worked up now was unknown.

He came to stand before Cynthia, his face turned unpleasant seeing the three pieces of meat on the ground. He glared at the three men and shouted, "What do you three mean by this? Is this how you treat your female?"

Though he also disliked Cynthia, she was his biological sister, which made the disrespect shown to her embarrassing too.

If the original owner's father and Matron were here, they'd feel the same shame.

Rhys Blackwood, Zeke Veridian, and Merrick Arcanus said nothing, as if unaware.

Their attitude infuriated Mason more.

He turned his ire onto Corbin Crowley, eating roasted meat leisurely on his own, his face darkened, "Corbin, don't forget my sister is your female; as her male, you have the responsibility to care for her. Giving her no food—do you intend to starve her?"

Mason's loud voice drew all Beastmen's attention to Corbin.

Corbin paused, his silver eyes shifted toward Mason, his handsome face cold, "Do I need to report to you when I provide my female with food?"

Mason stiffened under his icy stare, his presence diminished but still insisted, "Giving her food, no need to report to me. Yet offering her none—do you mean to starve her? Remember, no matter how poor she is, she's still your female."

Corbin curled his lips scornfully, his gaze shifted to Cynthia, blatantly disdainful, "Look at her size; being ugly is one thing, but she's fat as a sow. A bit of hunger might do her good."

"Hahaha..."

Laughter erupted around the square, agreeing with Corbin's words.

Especially the females, their eyes filled with envy for Cynthia.

Envious she had five outstanding Beast Husbands yet never satisfied, constantly courting trouble.

Now she was as fat as a pig, with an ugly face, turning stomachs—no wonder she tried to sneak aphrodisiac fruit, for who could bear to sleep with such an appearance?

In the Beast world, females admired for strength, but there's a gap between fat and strong.

Listening to the laughter and peculiar glances, even with a thick skin, Cynthia felt embarrassed.

Her gaze turned to Corbin, her expression vengeful; this man, truly malicious with words.

Was this revenge for the aphrodisiac fruit and the kick? Never mind, she resolved to lose weight—she herself couldn't stand her image.

Mason appeared awkward, his mouth moved to retort.

But seeing his sister's acne-ridden, pitted face and considerable size.

His mouth twitched; not just Corbin, even he found it hard to look.

Yet she knew to bathe now, showing some change.
