"I've been... okay! Are things going smoothly in the village?" he asked.
"There were some issues, but they're all resolved now!" Tian Xin said, pretending to sound relaxed.
It had been a long time since they'd seen each other, and Lin Zhou hadn't changed a bit. Upon closer inspection, aside from a few more signs of maturity between his brows, he looked just like he did back in school. When they made eye contact, she seemed to see a starry sparkle in his eyes.
"I knew you could do it!" Lin Zhou said with a smile.
Walking side by side, Lin Zhou was a head taller than her. From time to time, she looked up at him, and her pretty profile would break into a slight smile, making her look even more radiant.
"How did you know?" She turned her head to look at the road, unconsciously clutching her coat hem.
