In the distant Ember Isles, Mr. Fushi sat alone in his wheelchair near the edge of a weathered cliff. The evening wind drifted through the island as waves crashed far below, their echoes blending with the silence around him. For a long moment, he simply stared toward the horizon before a quiet laugh escaped his lips, as though he had just witnessed a future nobody else could see.
"I already knew it..." he murmured softly.
His smile remained, but there was no joy behind it. Instead, it carried the weight of someone who had spent years watching the world move toward an inevitable fate. His eyes narrowed slightly as he gazed at the darkening sky above the sea.
"They're coming back."
The wind suddenly felt colder.
"And if they fail..." he continued, his fingers tightening against the armrest of his wheelchair, "...this won't be a story about saving the world anymore."
For a brief moment, silence returned. The waves continued their endless rhythm below the cliffs while distant clouds slowly gathered above the horizon.
"This was never just about protecting the world. A world can be rebuilt. Cities can be rebuilt. Even nations can rise again after being destroyed."
His expression darkened.
"But people are different."
"The ones who were manipulated. The ones who were broken. The ones forced to carry pain they never deserved. Those scars don't disappear so easily."
A faint sigh escaped him as he lowered his gaze.
"So many people still don't understand what's coming..."
Another soft laugh followed, though this one sounded almost sorrowful.
"Let's hope they're ready."
His eyes slowly lifted toward the horizon once more.
"Because the battle ahead won't be against monsters."
For the first time, the smile completely vanished from his face.
"It will be against the nightmare that created them."
Far beyond the Ember Isles, beyond the oceans and mountains, beyond the places ordinary people could ever reach, several ancient figures slowly opened their eyes.
And somewhere in the darkness...
Something smiled back.
Back at Reikosha Academy, life was slowly returning to normal.
Or at least...
Everyone was pretending it was.
The academy grounds were still covered with signs of battle. Entire sections of the outer walls remained cracked. Several training fields had been completely destroyed during Kronos's attack. Giant craters could still be seen near the entrance where some of the strongest clashes had occurred.
Yet despite the destruction, students were everywhere.
Repair teams moved between damaged buildings.
Teachers supervised reconstruction efforts.
Energy users helped lift broken stone and steel.
The academy was healing.
Slowly.
Painfully.
But healing.
Near the main courtyard, Kairo sat on a broken stone bench staring toward the sunset. The Black Spartan rested beside him while dozens of students worked nearby.
He remained silent.
Thinking.
Remembering.
Kronos.
Lady Chõko.
The battles.
The deaths.
The impossible enemies.
Everything felt unreal.
"You look depressed."
Kairo looked up.
Yura stood nearby with her hands in her pockets.
For a moment neither spoke.
Then Kairo sighed.
"I keep thinking about it."
"About what?"
"Everything."
Yura sat beside him.
"The fight?"
Kairo nodded.
"The fact that I couldn't do much."
His hands tightened.
"I watched people stronger than me risk their lives while I couldn't even control my own Yami properly."
The frustration in his voice was obvious.
Yura remained quiet for a few moments.
Then she smiled.
"You survived."
Kairo frowned.
"That's not enough."
"It is."
He looked toward her.
Yura's expression was calmer than usual.
"The dead can't get stronger."
The words hit harder than expected.
For several seconds, Kairo couldn't respond.
Then Yura stood up.
"And besides..."
A small grin appeared on her face.
"You weren't the only one getting destroyed."
Kairo blinked.
"What?"
"You should've seen your face during Kronos's gravity."
A laugh escaped her.
"You looked like a fish trying to breathe on land."
Kairo immediately stood.
"HEY!"
Yura laughed and walked away.
For the first time in days...
Kairo found himself laughing too.
Meanwhile, inside one of the academy buildings, Reji, Dracula, Tyouro, Oko, Ishika, and several students gathered around a large table.
The conversation was loud.
Very loud.
"No way."
Tyouro slammed his hands onto the table.
"Yura actually moved inside stopped time."
"I saw it."
Dracula nodded.
"Still doesn't make sense."
"Nothing makes sense anymore."
Oko leaned backward.
"First Kronos stops the universe. Then Yura moves. Then she beats him."
Several students immediately began arguing.
Some claimed it was impossible.
Others insisted they witnessed it personally.
The room quickly became chaotic.
"She's a monster."
"No, Kronos is a monster."
"No, both are monsters."
"Fair."
Everyone nodded.
Elsewhere, Teacher Tine Marles watched the students from a second-floor window.
The academy was alive again.
Students were laughing.
Talking.
Training.
Arguing.
Living.
A small smile appeared on her face.
After everything that had happened...
That sight alone felt precious.
Yet deep inside...
Something bothered her.
A feeling.
An instinct.
A warning.
The same warning she had felt before Kronos arrived.
Her eyes slowly drifted toward the horizon.
Dark clouds gathered in the distance.
Far away.
Almost invisible.
But they were there.
Waiting.
Watching.
And for some reason...
She couldn't stop thinking about them.
That night, as the academy lights illuminated the repaired buildings, as students slowly returned to their dormitories, and as the world enjoyed a brief moment of peace...
A shadow moved somewhere far beyond human civilization.
A place untouched by time.
A place untouched by history.
A place even Kronos respected.
A pair of eyes slowly opened.
Ancient.
Cold.
Unfathomably powerful.
The darkness around them trembled.
Then a voice echoed through the void.
"Kronos failed."
Silence followed.
Then another voice spoke.
"What shall we do?"
The figure remained quiet for several moments.
Before a faint smile appeared.
"Nothing."
The darkness shook.
"Not yet."
The smile widened slightly.
"Let them enjoy their peace."
The eyes slowly closed.
"After all..."
The voice echoed one final time.
"The nightmare has only just begun."
