Chapter 57 - Chapter 27

Lu Yi walked out of the steel passage and saw the four individuals.

"Haha, this resistance is so boring!"

These four mutants were far from powerful—at best, just level one or two. How could they possibly stand a chance against Lu Yi?

All four mutants were under control. Seeing that Lu Yi ignored them, their expressions changed, and they coldly launched an attack on him.

Spit!

One mutant spat a glob of green liquid toward Lu Yi.

Lu Yi dodged it without hesitation.

Whether it was acid or some other substance, it would have had no real effect on Lu Yi—but he still avoided it.

Simply because he found it disgusting.

It was like being spit on—Lu Yi had no intention of letting someone else's saliva touch him.

This mutant could spit, and the others had their own tricks. One could grow spikes all over his body, another had an arm that could stretch and twist like rubber, and the last one was extremely fast. But none of it mattered.

They might be effective against ordinary people—but against Lu Yi, it was just suicide.

Aside from the one who spat, the remaining three still dared to provoke Lu Yi. They actually approached him, attempting to fight hand-to-hand!

Especially the mutant with rubber-like arms—he seemed overly confident in his stretchy limbs, flinging them around like noodles, aiming to wrap around Lu Yi's upper body.

But before he could even make a move, Lu Yi casually flicked his flexible arms.

Like a series of explosions, that elastic arm was violently snapped away by Lu Yi's power, crashing against the nearby steel wall, where it splattered like sludge.

The mutant's reaction was bizarre—as if that mangled arm wasn't even his. He showed no concern at all. His face was pale, but completely expressionless.

"What incredible control! Well done, Stryker! All these years of research weren't in vain!" Lu Yi couldn't help but sigh. But despite the sigh, he showed no mercy.

In a flash, he moved past the four mutants, raised his hand like a blade, and lightly struck the back of their necks.

Crack, crack, crack, crack.

All four mutants collapsed to the ground. Their necks were oddly twisted—and they stopped breathing.

Lu Yi had severed their spinal columns with four precise strikes.

Without pausing, he shot forward like a gust of wind, appearing behind the soldiers. His hand—like a knife—slashed across their throats, one after another, harvesting lives.

Some tried to dodge—but every attempt was futile. Lu Yi's strikes always slipped through the gaps, cutting their necks, ending their lives.

"This is only the beginning!" After killing all the soldiers, Lu Yi suddenly looked up and spoke toward a nearby camera.

On the other side of the screen, Colonel Stryker was watching.

When he heard "This is only the beginning," he panicked!

Not because of the words themselves—but because of how Lu Yi delivered them.

Lu Yi's voice hadn't traveled through the camera.

Instead, it appeared directly inside his ear, in an eerie, inexplicable way.

The voice was like the whisper of a devil—sending chills through his entire body.

He had to admit—he was terrified.

In the past, he had felt no fear when facing Professor X, nor when facing Magneto.

But when facing Lu Yi—he felt true fear.

Looking at the screen, seeing Lu Yi standing atop a pile of corpses like a demon, he suddenly regretted ever cooperating with those people—regretted throwing a nuclear bomb at Lu Yi.

But it was too late. Lu Yi would never let him go.

Stryker suddenly stood up and shouted:"No, we can't just sit here and wait for death!"

"Yuriko! Stop him!"

He hurriedly ordered the female assistant beside him, then turned and left without hesitation.

He planned to hide—wait until Lu Yi forgot about him, or until Lu Yi was killed. He no longer had the courage to face him.

He even abandoned one of his proudest creations—Yuriko—just to gain more time to escape.

Yuriko was under control. Abandoned by Stryker, she showed no emotion. She only wanted to fulfill his last order. She flexed her fingers—making sounds that resembled metal scraping more than bone—and then rushed toward Lu Yi's location.

She intended to stop Lu Yi.

But just as she reached the metal door—before she could even open it—

BOOM!

The door shattered.

The solid metal door, at least several dozen centimeters thick, was blasted into pieces—leaving a massive hole wide enough for a person to walk through.

But that wasn't the most shocking part.

Yuriko—who was trying to stop Lu Yi—was struck by the flying metal shards, slammed against the steel wall behind her.

Although her skeleton—like Wolverine's—was made of adamantium and remained intact, her flesh was completely shredded.

"Ah, didn't expect you to be standing right behind the door. My apologies. Are you okay?" Lu Yi walked in through the hole—his face showing no hint of apology.
