Chapter 56 - Chapter 58

Sitting at the center of the audience, Yuriko looked at Justin Hammer and complained,"Your dancing is awful—it's like watching a duck waddle around!"

It wasn't that Yuriko wanted to complain. It was simply that Justin Hammer had far too many qualities worth complaining about. He was unbelievably foolish—he couldn't even pretend to be cool and instead looked like a complete clown.

"No, it's more like a penguin!"

"Penguin? Actually… yeah, that fits!" Yuriko couldn't help but laugh.

Lu Yi and Yuriko were already extremely eye-catching. With those unrestrained, mocking smiles on their faces, Justin Hammer noticed them almost immediately, and his expression darkened.

Fortunately, he also knew this was a crucial moment. So, suppressing his irritation, he forced a bright smile back onto his face and began reading from his prepared speech.

"Ladies and gentlemen, for years, our brave soldiers have risked their lives on the battlefield. Then Iron Man appeared! We no longer lose soldiers in battle, yet he refuses to share his technology. It's unfair, unreasonable—what a pity!"

Justin Hammer had come here specifically to slap someone in the face. The moment he struck a pose behind the podium, he fired verbal shots directly at Tony Stark.

His words were indeed well delivered. But some audience members didn't react the way he expected.

Most of the people here were business elites. Tony Stark not making his inventions public? That was perfectly in line with their interests. They had no desire to please Justin Hammer or the military.

Justin Hammer didn't realize this. He rambled on for a bit before shifting the topic to his "Iron Soldiers."

"Iron Hammer Warriors!"

The screen behind him lit up. A group of armored soldiers appeared, walking through flames. The stage then split apart as three squads of steel soldiers—representing the Navy and Army—rose slowly from below.

Applause erupted!

But to Justin Hammer, the applause still wasn't enthusiastic enough. So he raised his hand, and another "Iron Man" rose up from beneath the stage.

This one was none other than Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes, Tony Stark's close friend.

"Something's different," Yuriko murmured as she watched Rhodes rise. "Why?"

"Can the poor and the rich ever be the same?"

Justin Hammer's armored suits were mass-produced items. They were nothing like Tony Stark's custom-made Iron Man suits. One of Tony's suits was worth dozens of Hammer's models. The difference was immense. How could they possibly be comparable?

"Look down there—someone's causing trouble."

The moment Lu Yi finished speaking, a distant whistle rang out. Yuriko saw the familiar figure of Tony Stark descending onto the stage.

Apparently, in a sort of "plot inertia," Tony had upgraded his arc reactor again. The palladium core had been replaced with a newly synthesized element. The upgraded reactor was stronger and cleaner, which was good of course.

But now wasn't the time to talk about that.

Lu Yi was preparing to deal with the Iron Soldiers in front of him—each one a potential new card draw, even if only once.

His hand rested on the necklace hanging around his neck, the one with the S-shaped emblem. He was ready to start collecting heads.

Changes were happening on stage as well. Every Iron Soldier raised its arm, revealing the weapons concealed within, all pointed at Tony Stark.

Not wanting to risk being hit by a stray shot, Tony lifted off the ground and soared into the sky.

At that moment, Lu Yi moved. He yanked the necklace from around his neck, completing the transformation. His casual clothes vanished, replaced by the familiar Superman suit.

Whoosh!

The audience heard a sharp crack, followed by a thunderous boom. A figure in a red cape—Lu Yi—appeared before the Iron Soldiers who were ready to fire without hesitation.

Their target was Tony Stark, so they ignored Lu Yi completely.

But being ignored only irritated Lu Yi further.

He flew beside two Iron Soldiers. Without using any special technique, he simply placed his palms against their helmets and smashed their heads together!

Bang!

The collision tore both Iron Soldiers apart instantly. Their helmets shattered, and pieces of metal scattered across the floor.

The crowd, already terrified, stared blankly at Lu Yi and the two sparking metal corpses on the ground. They looked at him as if he were a monster.

But while the invited guests were stupefied, Lu Yi remained calm. He darted to another Iron Soldier, clapped his hands once—

Snap!

—and crushed its head like a tin can.

Fighting these Iron Soldiers was absolutely effortless for him.

Hammer Industries personnel finally realized this as well. They immediately triggered the flight systems on the Iron Soldiers, sending them into the sky to pursue Tony Stark—anything to escape Lu Yi.

Running already?

Seeing the Iron Soldiers attempting to flee, Lu Yi had no intention of letting them go.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz—!

His heat vision activated. Two beams of red light swept across the sky wherever Lu Yi looked.

Because the Iron Soldiers were not controlled by humans or an advanced AI, their evasive capability was pathetic. Most of those flying through the sky were shot down instantly.

Bang! Bang! Bang—!

Boom! Boom! Boom—!

Explosions lit up the sky as flaming metal debris rained down, crashing into the crowd below.

All those well-dressed elites completely lost their usual composure. Their panicked, selfish behavior exposed the ugliness of human nature.

Lu Yi didn't care about them at all. With another sharp whoosh, he shot into the sky, chasing down the Iron Soldiers who had temporarily escaped.

He quickly caught up to the first one, matching its flight speed with ease.

This Iron Soldier was amusing. It turned its head, glanced at Lu Yi once, then immediately looked forward again—completely ignoring him.

"Oh, now that really pisses me off."
