After Mufasa returned to his room, he first fed his cat, Kate, some dried fish, then opened the book.
He found all the marriage records concerning the Lannister and Baratheon families' unions.
"Indeed, their golden hair is still too eye-catching, isn't it!"
Mufasa thought.
However, his eyes inadvertently caught sight of his own entry a few lines below Tommen's.
"Mufasa Waters. Blond hair, blue eyes."
Then Mufasa saw a name: "Visenya Waters."
"She's my mother?"
Mufasa had actually forgotten his mother's name long ago, as she had died when he was three.
But why would she, with such a humble background, appear in this book?
Mufasa's limited memories still recalled his mother having white hair and blue eyes.
"White hair, blue eyes!"
"Silver-white hair, indigo-blue eyes. Could my birth mother's identity be extraordinary? Could she be of the Targaryen royal family?"
Mufasa had a bold guess about his own parentage.
According to his memory, it seemed during the Dance of the Dragons, Helaena Targaryen, King Aegon's wife, was sent to a brothel for punishment by Rhaenyra. Could it be that from then on, the Dragon family's bloodline remained in the brothels of King's Landing?
No longer dwelling on his parentage, as he now had an identity: Mufasa Lannister.
The next morning, King Robert announced his intention to go north to Winterfell to ask his good friend Eddard Stark to be Hand of the King.
During his absence from King's Landing, Baelish, Pycelle, Varys, Renly, and Barristan would collectively oversee all matters, large and small, in King's Landing and the Crownlands.
King Robert led a procession of nearly three hundred people, majestically advancing along the Kingsroad towards Winterfell.
He traveled very slowly along the way. Robert was similar to Mace Tyrell in this regard: a small feast every three days, a grand feast every five days.
Whenever he arrived in a lord's territory, he would have the local lord lavishly entertain them.
It could be said that his journey would be very costly.
Mufasa was a bit bored along the way and began to miss the games from his previous life. Electronic games were impossible for him to replicate.
However, other board games he could recreate.
To better fit the continent of Westeros, or rather, the national conditions of this world,
Mufasa brought out playing cards.
"Brother Mufasa, what are you doing!"
Mufasa took advantage of a planned stop for rest to start making playing cards.
Myrcella peeked out from behind him, accompanied by her lioness, Joanna.
Joanna was a common name among noble ladies; many duchesses of the Lannister family shared this name, including Cersei's mother.
"I'm making a game that four or even more people can play together. Look."
Mufasa showed her the cards he had already made.
Myrcella looked at the different colors and shapes, with letters on them.
"King, Queen! Jack! Joker!"
"What are these, and how do you play?" she asked.
"Look at these four kings; they have different faces painted on them."
Mufasa represented the four kings with four famous kings from the world.
The King of Clubs was Aegon the Conqueror, the King of Spades was Jaehaerys the Conciliator, the King of Hearts was R'hllor the Lord of Light, and the King of Diamonds was Robert the Usurper.
"This face looks like Father," Myrcella said, pointing to the King of Diamonds.
"That's right, that's him! The King of Clubs is Aegon the Conqueror, the King of Spades is Jaehaerys the Conciliator, the King of Hearts is R'hllor the Lord of Light, and King Robert makes up the highest card in the four suits."
Next were the four Queen cards.
Mufasa used Visenya, Aegon the Conqueror's sister, to represent the Queen of Clubs; Alysanne, Jaehaerys's wife, for the Queen of Spades; Nymeria, Queen of the Rhoynar, for the Queen of Hearts; and Cersei for the Queen of Diamonds.
Then came the four Jacks.
For these, Mufasa used four famous lords.
The Jack of Clubs was Orys Baratheon, Aegon the Conqueror's rumored bastard brother and the first Hand of the King.
The Jack of Spades was Cregan Stark, the one who ultimately decided the outcome during the Dance of the Dragons.
The Jack of Hearts was the Sea Snake of the Dance of the Dragons: Corlys Velaryon.
The Jack of Diamonds was the Warden of the West, Lord of Casterly Rock: Tywin Lannister.
For the other cards from Ace to 10, Mufasa didn't add more character elements, but for the last two Joker cards, he used the legendary Night King.
After Mufasa finished making this deck of cards, he immediately called Joffrey and Tommen, and the four of them started playing together.
"Three of a kind and a single!"
"Four of a kind and two singles!"
"Airplane! Bomb!"
"Rocket is coming!"
"Spring!"
Soon, all of them learned how to play cards.
The noise attracted others from a distance.
King Robert, Queen Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion, and others all gathered around.
"What are you doing?"
Tyrion, being the smallest, easily squeezed his way through.
"What is this game? It looks like a lot of fun!" he asked.
"Poker! Many ways to play! Anytime, anywhere, play whenever you want!" Mufasa said.
Mufasa then introduced it to them as well.
Robert smiled when he heard that he was one of the four kings.
"Mufasa! I didn't expect you to put me on par with Aegon the Conqueror, Jaehaerys the Conciliator, and R'hllor the Lord of Light. Am I really that excellent?" Robert asked.
"Your Majesty, you are no ordinary person! The Demon of the Trident! When we reach Winterfell, Eddard Stark's sons will surely look at you with admiration!" Mufasa said.
If Robert's physique were still like it was ten years ago, Robb Stark and the others would certainly admire him. As for now!
"Hahaha, good news, you're very eloquent."
"This deck of cards actually has four members of the Targaryen family! Are you trying to show your attitude and stance, Mufasa?" Cersei looked at him with a cold face.
Although he didn't know why she was so angry, it was fortunate that Myrcella and the others were there.
"Mother, look, you're a queen! You're on par with Visenya, Alysanne, and Nymeria! What's wrong with that?" Myrcella said, pulling her hand.
"Cersei, it's just a game, what does it matter!" Jaime interjected. He also didn't know why Cersei would suddenly get angry.
"Mufasa, I think you should put famous knights from the continent into the cards too, to let more people know them. I know all the knights in the White Book," he continued.
"Like Dunk the Tall! The Sword of the Morning! Ser Gerold Hightower the White Bull! Criston Cole the Kingmaker! Believe me, putting all of them in will make playing cards even more fun!"
Jaime seemed very eager. Mufasa felt that he also wanted his own name to appear on them.
After all, he was the youngest person ever to join the Kingsguard!
"That's a troublesome task; it would take a lot of time to select the characters," Mufasa said.
"We have plenty of time now."
Jaime said.
So, they began the busy work of adding suitable characters to the entire deck of poker cards along the way.
Many people also learned how to play cards.
And Tyrion seemed to realize that this was a new way to make money.
So he found Mufasa, wanting to discuss opening a card and board game room once they returned to King's Landing.
