Mufasa was shot in the back with an arrow, and many worried he was dead. Jaime and Tyrion both cried.
"Mufasa! Mufasa!"
"Mufasa, don't die!"
Even the wildling woman who shot Mufasa believed he was dead, confident in her archery.
But Mufasa stood up again.
"Good thing I was wearing a heart guard, front and back! Otherwise, I would have been Barbie-Q'd today."
"Mufasa, it's really great that you're okay!" Jaime Lannister hugged him tightly!
Mufasa was startled, feeling a strong fatherly love from Jaime Lannister. He then smiled.
The wildlings suffered heavy casualties, with only six surviving; the rest were killed by Mufasa's white lion, Hrakkar.
The six wildlings, led by Rattleshirt, were tied up and brought before King Robert and Lord Eddard.
"Eddard, it seems your North isn't peaceful enough! These wildlings from far away can trek all the way to Winterfell," Robert teased.
"You are right, Your Majesty. The North is the second line of defense against wildling invasions. It seems I cannot return to King's Landing with you!"
Eddard Stark wanted to use the defense of the North as an excuse to decline King Robert's offer of the Hand.
"Ned, you!"
Robert stared at him with wide, ox-like eyes, remaining silent for a long time, sulking.
"Ser Mufasa, we owe you a great debt. Otherwise, His Royal Highness and my son might have lost their lives!"
Eddard Stark thanked Mufasa.
Mufasa smiled nonchalantly. "It seems your precious son hit his head earlier. You should quickly find Maester Luwin to take a look!"
"Robb has already been sent to the maester's laboratory."
"Then, let the trial by combat continue! Benjen Stark, Mance Rayder, it's your turn!"
Benjen Stark wielded his spear on horseback. The spear was very light but gave a feeling of invincibility.
Benjen Stark knew it was forged from Valyrian steel, the same as Ice, and used even more material than Ice.
Just as Benjen Stark and Mance Rayder were about to begin, Rattleshirt, now a prisoner, spoke up.
"I have something to say."
Their duel was interrupted again.
Benjen looked angrily at Rattleshirt.
"What do you want to say now?"
"I accuse you southerners of killing us free folk! I demand a trial by combat against the killer, Ser Mufasa, the lion rider."
Rattleshirt looked at Mufasa.
He believed this kid must be a warg, controlling a lion to kill. However, they had even stronger wargs among the wildlings.
Varamyr Sixskins, a small warg accompanied by three wolves, a snow bear, and a shadowcat, was the most powerful warg among the wildlings.
His own strength was weak; if not for these beasts, Rattleshirt himself could deal with him.
So now, Rattleshirt's goal was to prevent Mufasa from using his warg abilities and defeat him in a one-on-one duel.
Mufasa then glanced at Rattleshirt's stats.
"Name: Rattleshirt"
"Identity: Free Folk, Wildling"
"Occupation: Raider"
"Strength: 15"
"Speed: 13"
"Intelligence: 15"
"Spirit: 14"
"Magic: 6"
"Talent: Boneremover. Skilled at stripping meat from bones."
"Evaluation: Not a weakling, but not yet at the level of a King-Beyond-the-Wall."
"Don't you wildlings worship the Old Gods? Why are you playing the Seven Gods' game?" Jaime Lannister asked.
"What god I believe in is none of your business! I accuse Mufasa of killing our free folk, and you also want to kill our king, Mance Rayder, the King-Beyond-the-Wall."
"We free folk will not yield to you. If you dare, let's have a trial by combat. We, including Mance Rayder, are exactly seven people. Do you dare to send seven people to fight us?" Rattleshirt asked.
"Bring it on! Mere wildlings, why would we be afraid of you!" Mufasa said.
"Seven knights, count me in."
After selection, Mufasa Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Benjen Stark, Eddard Stark, Robert Baratheon, Jory Cassel, and Rodrik Cassel were chosen as the seven to fight the wildlings.
The wildlings also claimed they were injured and, for fairness, requested time to recover before the decisive battle.
King Robert granted their request.
In the following days, Robert and Eddard Stark went hunting every day, never resting.
Cersei wanted Joffrey and Sansa to develop feelings for each other, but Joffrey saw Sansa as a little girl. He preferred more mature women, older than himself, and wasn't very interested in Sansa, who was younger.
Although Catelyn Tully also told Sansa to actively seek out Prince Joffrey to foster affection, every time Sansa went to find Joffrey, she would eventually end up with Mufasa.
During this time, Mufasa rode his white lion around Winterfell every day. His popularity value once again reached a thousand points.
It was time for the lottery again.
Mufasa rubbed his hands, then washed them, and finally soaked in a hot spring. After preparing, he began the lottery.
A giant circular roulette appeared in his mind.
Mufasa immediately did a ten-pull.
The results were as follows:
The first was one hundred gold dragons, the second was one thousand silver stags, the third was a portion of Dragon's Essence, the fourth was one point in Strength, the fifth was one point in Speed, the sixth was one Beast Enhancement, the seventh was one point in Magic, the eighth was one point in Intelligence, the ninth was one point in Spirit, and the tenth was a Valyrian steel shield.
After all the draws, Mufasa added one point to Strength, Speed, Intelligence, Spirit, and Magic.
He felt his physical fitness and magical damage had both increased.
"What is this Dragon's Essence?" Mufasa took out the reward to examine it carefully.
"Dragon's Essence: Gives vitality to dead dragon eggs, helping young dragons hatch from their shells."
"Good stuff! But there's only one portion. I have five dragon eggs in King's Landing, so I'll save this Dragon's Essence for now!" Mufasa said.
He then checked "Beast Enhancement."
"Beast Enhancement: Can enhance a creature with the 'Beast' title once. After enhancement, the beast will undergo a mutation."
"Mutation, I hope it's not a malignant mutation like Yu Xiaogang's!"
Mufasa thought. He then found the white lion, Hrakkar.
Although Mufasa also had two swift horses, Red Hare and Wuzhui, they were just ordinary creatures, not beasts, so this Beast Enhancement could not be used on them. Mufasa had no choice but to use it on Hrakkar.
"Beast Enhancement, Hrakkar, begin!"
A red light flew out from Mufasa's body, enveloping Hrakkar. Then Mufasa heard Hrakkar roar, an excited roar. It seemed to feel some benefit mutating within itself.
The lion's roars continued, shaking two stones from the nearby ruined tower. The direwolves all tucked their tails between their legs, whimpering incessantly.
Finally, the red light dissipated, and Mufasa saw Hrakkar's new appearance.
His body had grown a size, comparable to a rhinoceros, and two bull horns had grown on his head.
