After Mufasa evolved Red Hare and Black Steed into Scarlet Ember Fire Dragon Colt and Treading Snow Black Steed, he tried out the skill "Lion's Roar Skill" again.
Mufasa opened his mouth wide towards the unmanned forest and let out a furious roar.
The roar made the leaves fall one after another, and then Mufasa saw Heraka rush out, looking at Mufasa curiously.
Then Mufasa used "Lion's Roar Skill" on Heraka again.
Heraka also couldn't help but roar towards the sky, its roar's penetrating power increased several times over.
It even shook down several crows, which it swallowed in one gulp.
"Lion's Roar Skill, this skill perfectly fits the Lannister family's prophecy: Hear Me Roar. If ten thousand Lannister family soldiers unleashed Lion's Roar Skill simultaneously on the battlefield, it's hard to imagine what that scene would be like."
A hint of anticipation flashed across Mufasa's vision.
Upon returning to Black Castle, Mufasa saw Samwell, who was helping Maester Aemon walk out.
"Ser Mufasa, we just heard a lion's roar. Did your Heraka encounter some danger?" Maester Aemon asked.
"My apologies, Maester. Heraka was a bit too excited," Mufasa said.
"Sam, is working under Maester Aemon alright?"
"The Maester is very wise, and he treats me very well!" Sam said.
"We're heading Beyond the Wall for an investigation tomorrow! Let's have a drink together tonight!" Mufasa invited.
"I!" Samwell hesitated, looking at Maester Aemon.
"Go, my good boy!" Maester Aemon said.
"I will definitely be there, Ser Mufasa!" Samwell said.
That night, Mufasa arrived at a formerly abandoned Knight's Mess Hall.
Hundreds of shields hung on The Walls here, bearing the sigils of various houses.
The Crowned Stag, the Roaring Golden Lion, the Running Wolf of the Ice Plains, the Red Apple, the Golden Rose, the Crescent Falcon, the Burning Tree.
Podrick and his companions had already cleaned the place up in advance.
Mufasa used this esteemed venue to host the Night's Watch.
"I never thought we'd eat here again. It's quite moving!"
Lord Commander Jeor Mormont said, looking at the Knight's Mess Hall.
In the past, the Night's Watch had hundreds of sworn knights, and they all ate here, but later they disappeared one by one.
"It's completely new again today, Ser Mufasa!" Benjen Stark said.
"I believe in the future, people will come here often! Trust me, everyone!"
Mufasa saw that all several hundred Night's Watchmen, including Master Alliser, had taken their seats.
He stood up; though still young, his height had already reached adult level, and he might not grow much more in the future.
"Gentlemen, you are the swords in the darkness, the watchers on The Wall, the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men."
"To the Night's Watch!"
Mufasa raised his wine cup and said.
"To the Night's Watch!" Everyone raised their cups and drank together.
Gulp, gulp. After a cup of wine, the atmosphere immediately became cheerful.
People from all corners of the world began to tell their stories; some had indeed committed crimes and murders and came to The Wall to escape death, while others were exiled by unjust laws.
One Night's Watch brother, in his forties, was called Arjan. He was from King's Landing, born in Flea Bottom.
He had an elder sister who died after bearing seven children, and he raised them alone.
Later, he couldn't raise so many children alone, and he didn't even have enough wages to buy them food.
Arjan then stole bread from a bakery but was caught. He was later sent to the King's Great Hall for trial, and King Robert naturally did not intervene.
It was during Jon Snow's first few years as Hand, and he sentenced Arjan to three years of service.
However, if Arjan was willing to choose to join the Night's Watch, his sentence would be waived, and he would even be given some money.
Arjan chose to join the Night's Watch, then used that money to bribe the church, sending all his children to the church to become novice monks and nuns.
Mufasa was currently sitting next to this Night's Watch brother, who everyone called Arjan.
Listening to him tell his story.
"Brother! A great man once said: A man who commits a crime for money, he alone is guilty. A man who commits a crime for bread, the whole city is guilty."
"The fault is not yours, but King's Landing's!" Mufasa patted his shoulder.
"Wuwuwu!" Arjan cried, and others also shed tears upon hearing this, their hearts aching!
King's Landing is the center of power, unlike other places.
If you stole bread elsewhere, perhaps the owner would kindly give you a few pieces. But in King's Landing, the people there are not to be trifled with.
One could say that from inside to out, from top to bottom, there are no good people in King's Landing.
"Lord Benjen, have our routes been planned for tomorrow?" Mufasa approached Benjen Stark again.
He bit into the onion, which was stained with gravy, making a crisp sound. Then he said.
"It's already planned. We'll go as far as White Tree Village."
"Alright, eat more tonight! Tomorrow we will speed up our investigation Beyond the Wall," Mufasa said.
The next day, Mufasa set off with his people and several Rangers led by Benjen Stark.
This time, Mufasa did not ride Heraka, leaving him in Black Castle. He rode Treading Snow Black Steed, and Melisandre rode Scarlet Ember Fire Dragon Colt.
Tyrion, being afraid of the cold, did not come, and Podrick was taking care of him. A'guda, however, came along.
Mufasa and Melisandre led the way, with the others following behind.
They followed Mufasa's footsteps all the way, discussing Mufasa's mounts.
"That horse seems to be on fire when it runs? Like a fire horse?"
Someone said, looking at the Scarlet Ember Fire Dragon Colt.
"But that other horse, the one with four snow-white hooves, is even more outrageous! It steps on the snow, but it doesn't seem to leave footprints."
Besides generating cold air from its four hooves when running, Treading Snow Black Steed can also tread on snow without leaving a trace. As for how it does it, Mufasa wasn't very clear, even though he was riding Treading Snow Black Steed.
After advancing all night, they stopped their journey in the dead of night.
The Haunted Forest at midnight was even more terrifying than during the day. Many pairs of glowing eyes watched them from afar.
"So many crows!" Mufasa said. He saw a dense mass of crows on the trees.
"Ser Mufasa, could your horse help us start a fire?" Benjen Stark asked.
"No problem! Go, Little Fire!" Mufasa said. He had given Scarlet Ember Fire Dragon Colt the nickname Little Fire, and Treading Snow Black Steed the nickname Little Snow.
Little Fire immediately neighed, swept its tail, scattering a handful of sparks. The sparks landed on the dry leaves, then ignited into flames.
