Chapter 5 - WEAPONS TO START A NEW BEGINNING

Next, Nicolle asked me about the SoulWeapon.

I asked her back, "What is that?"

Nicolle began to explain the Soul Weapon.

"A Soul Weapon is a weapon given by the gods and goddesses who protect us. Soul Weapons are granted based on high compatibility with us, and specifically, high and mid-tier Soul Weapons can transform into cute animal spirits, as well as friends who will accompany us for their lifetime."

Nicolle showed a basket full of sparkling flowers.

"This is my Soul Weapon."

Nicolle showed it with a sense of embarrassment.

"It's very weak, isn't it? Apollo said this weapon is suitable for me, who is weak."

Nicolle fell silent for a moment.

Nox looked at Nicolle, and slowly, he held Nicolle's hand.

"Even if it's not used for fighting, survivability is a very important thing in battle. That way, we can minimize casualties, right?"

Nox said this with a serious face.

Nicolle smiled slightly because of him.

"Now, try showing me your stat board. It's usually located below the LV."

Nox then showed his fake stat board.

Nicolle was instantly surprised after seeing Nox's stat board.

"It's not there?!"

Areta asked why the Soul Weapon wasn't written in his stats.

Riel tried to help by asking a question.

"Have you asked your God yet?"

I shook my head.

"I will try it now."

Riel then asked me.

"Have you ever played a game?"

I shook my head again.

After all, my parents were too strict, even not giving me a cellphone.

Riel smiled and then told me how to contact my God.

"First, go to the gear button in the top left. The envelope icon is for gifts, the chat icon is the forum for the council members—you can find many jobs there, you know. And the person icon, that's where you ask something to your God."

With an amazed face, I started typing a message to my Goddess.

"I apologize, Goddess, please cooperate with me TUT."

{God, can you please explain why I haven't received a Soul Weapon?}

Typing. . .

Anubis (Disguised as Nexus) {You don't need it yet}

I was a little disappointed with my Goddess's decision.

"What did he say?" Rock asked with a curious tone.

With a disappointed tone, I said.

"He said I don't need it yet."

All the party members were surprised and then tried to comfort me.

"Thank you :)."

Later, at 9:00 a.m. on March 19th, Nicolle and I prepared everything for the fissure trip tomorrow. First, we bought a weapon for me.

Most of the weapon stores in the city have five-story buildings and a Western-themed gold motif.

When entering inside, the surrounding atmosphere felt like being in a different century.

Neatly dressed servants greeted us with a sincere smile.

"Welcome to the store."

My face was amazed to see the beautiful interior, reminding me of the imperial palace, but this was a small version.

It was delightful to see all the shiny weapons and fighting gear displayed on the walls, with what I assumed were unpleasant prices.

I looked towards Nicolle with a hesitant face after seeing the price.

Nicolle smiled after she saw me, as if saying, "You don't need to worry about that."

I then assured Nicolle that I had enough money to buy one of the good weapons, and all Sis Nicolle needed to do was recommend a weapon of the type I chose.

Nicolle was surprised by what I said.

"EH, YOU?!"

I quickly showed my bank account on my phone.

"Eh?! That's a lot..."

Nicolle felt like a failure as an adult, and with a glum face, she agreed.

Nicolle then asked me.

"So what type of weapon do you choose, Noxy?"

I looked at a few weapons, but the one that came to my mind for a Munderer class was a scythe!

Wouldn't it feel incomplete if a Munderer class didn't use a scythe?

I then showed my choice to Nicolle.

With a hesitant tone, Nicolle asked me.

"Are you serious? It's big and heavy, you know."

I gripped the type of weapon I chose with confidence.

"I'm sure!"

Nicolle sighed.

"Alright, I'll find you the lightest and strongest one at a suitable price. You just wait here first, okay?"

I nodded, and then Nicolle walked around searching every area of the store, asking for recommendations from every employee.

"Excuse me, do you know of a scythe weapon that is light enough for a beginner?"

One of the employees immediately suggested a scythe.

"How about this one, Miss?"

Nicolle then called me.

"Noxy, I found it!"

With a happy feeling, I ran towards Nicolle.

"Yay!"

"How is it, Noxy?"

With a happy tone, I answered.

"Yes, this is perfect, Nicolle, thank you."

Nicolle was charmed by Nox's sincere smile.

"Y-yes, it's nothing >\<."

Nox looked puzzled at Nicolle's strange behavior.

"What's wrong with her?"

One of the employees gave me a slip of paper.

"This is the bill, sir."

Nox took out his phone.

"Can the payment be made using Q-Ryu?"

The employee gave the QR code to Nox, and he then scanned the QR code.

"Thank you, sir, for your purchase. See you again."

"Thank you, too."

Nox and Nicolle walked out.

Nicolle saw Nox smiling happily with his new weapon.

"Noxy."

Nox looked back.

"You seem very happy, huh."

Nox took a breath.

"Of course... This is the first time I've bought something this expensive, and this is the weapon I got by myself."

Nicolle's face turned puzzled.

"By yourself? Have you held a weapon before?"

Nox started to panic.

A faint shadow of the past began to haunt him.

A blurry memory shadow depicted two small hands trembling, holding a knife with blood dripping from its tip.

A faint voice appeared in Nox's head.

"Mother.... I... I'm done... did I... get to leave now?"

The mother's eyes from the iron door bars stared sharply.

*"Now I can't call you my child. Balance, you are now a ****."

The memory slowly disappeared, swallowed by a thick black fog. I felt like I was sinking into the ocean, and then someone called me and extended their hand to me.

"Nox!"

Nicolle's voice was heard.

"Nox!"

Who... are you?

Nicolle shook Nox's shoulder. The shaking woke Nox up from his memory.

"Huh!?"

"Noxy, are you okay?! Take a deep breath first, okay?"

Nox held Nicolle's hand tightly.

"I'm fine, it just seems like a faint memory has returned to me."

Nox looked at Nicolle.

"Sorry for worrying you, Sis."

Nicolle tried to calm Nox.

"It's okay. Now you go rest at the headquarters, okay? Next, Riel, Areta, and I will make potions. You've worked hard since this morning."

I nodded while smiling to let her know that I was fine.

Upon arriving at the headquarters.

With a tired face, I sat down on a chair in the living room.

The other party members looked at me.

"Are you okay, Nox?" Riel asked.

Nox glanced at Riel with a weak gaze, and then Nicolle intervened to give me space.

Nicolle then gave me warm tea while explaining my condition to the others.

"Noxy seems to have recalled a past event he doesn't want to remember. We need to give him some space for a bit."

Nicolle smiled slightly at me.

"Nicolle..."

"Yes?"

"I'm going to my room. You don't need to worry too much."

I then walked to the second-floor room without looking back.

I lay down with a heavy head. My eyes felt heavy and started to blur my vision. Slowly, sleep began to pick me up, leading me to a world of imagination.

While Nox was resting, the other members prepared the equipment. Rock prepared the fighting gear, Nicolle and Riel made potions, and Areta made poison.

The next day, where I finally went into the fantasy world fissure for the first time.

Fissures are trials given by the Gods and Goddesses to freely strengthen one's level—that's according to legend. However, in truth, fissures are connecting gates to another dimension that is almost destroyed.

Sometimes, creatures from the other dimension contaminated by fragments of destruction start to rampage and go destroy this world.

The fewer fragments of destruction there are, the weaker the fissure is. And I am only facing an E-level fragment, which shouldn't be too difficult, right?

"Let's start!" Nicolle exclaimed to give encouragement.

When I entered the fissure, that world had a vast meadow with a beautiful blue sky and clouds. A cool breeze gently brushed through my hair.

My heart was pounding fast, cold and silent. What I thought at that moment was.

"Is this freedom?!"

I, who had lived in a gloomy environment with a lot of bullying, suddenly saw something this beautiful.

"I can't believe it."

Nicolle interrupted.

"Isn't it beautiful, Nox?"

Nox's eyes looked sharply at the beautiful blue sky.

"It's a shame a world like this will be destroyed by fragments of destruction."

Nicolle said as she wiped the hair carried by the wind.

Nicolle excitedly said.

"So, we have to save this beautiful world! Cheer up, hurray, hurray!"

Yes, it's time to leave my comfort zone and make a new adventure, in this new world.

This is definitely going to be fun :D.
