The mermaid princess stared at Eir in shock.
The person she had desperately wanted to see had finally emerged from the darkness, after speaking to her for so long without revealing their features.
But she never expected the truth to look like this.
She was shocked by what Eir had said, but even more so by her striking beauty.
She stared at her for a few moments, then wondered to herself in astonishment:
"Who is this beautiful woman? Why is everyone here so beautiful, even the guards?"
The mermaid princess frowned inwardly as she looked at Eir, trying to process what she was seeing in front of her.
Then she thought with annoyance:
"Why couldn't our kind be this beautiful?"
The mermaid princess felt a deep sense of sadness as she looked at the tall, beautiful Eir standing before her with calm confidence.
But she quickly snapped out of it, remembering what Eir had said just moments ago.
Her eyes widened, and she said quickly:
"Wait!"
Eir looked at her calmly.
The princess continued in frustration:
"Were you just messing with me about escaping? Did you lie to me?"
Eir looked at the mermaid princess and answered simply:
"Yes, of course I was."
A brief silence fell over them.
Then Eir added, giving her a mocking look:
"Are you a fool? You are in Asgard. You cannot escape this place without Asgard's permission, little one."
The mermaid princess's eyes widened.
Eir's words were very clear, and the confidence with which she spoke left little room for doubt.
As for Eir...
She didn't seem to care much about the princess's frustration.
She reached into her clothes and pulled out a piece of meat.
Then she tossed it calmly toward the mermaid princess.
The princess caught it without understanding what was happening.
She looked at the piece of meat in her hand in bewilderment.
Eir said calmly:
"Eat, prisoner."
Then she added:
"You must eat, for you will be staying with us for a very long time, little one."
Eir said this simply, then turned and quietly walked away.
The mermaid princess remained standing where she was.
She looked at the piece of meat in her hand.
Then she raised her head and watched Eir as she quietly distanced herself from the area.
The princess couldn't believe what had just happened.
Only moments ago, she had thought there was someone willing to help her escape.
And now she discovered that everything that happened was nothing but a prank by Eir.
Anger flared up inside her.
Then she screamed at the top of her lungs:
"Where am I?!"
She paused for a moment, then continued angrily:
"Who are you?!"
Then she raised her voice even louder:
"Don't you know who I am? I am the mermaid princess!"
But Eir paid no attention to the mermaid princess's words.
She continued walking calmly, as if she hadn't heard a thing.
And after she left the area...
Eir looked up at the warriors of Asgard who were guarding the prison from the outside.
She stopped in front of them, then said seriously:
"If that woman tries to escape, teach her a harsh lesson."
Then she looked at them for a few moments, to make sure they understood her order.
As for inside the prison...
The mermaid princess was still looking at the piece of meat in her hand, unable to understand how her escape attempt had turned into this strange situation.
She realized now that escaping from this place called Asgard would not be easy at all.
And that this woman...
Was the first person to make her feel that the prison and the place she found herself in might be more complex than she had expected.
