Some more time passed.
It had been a while since Levi had fallen asleep.
Heavy rain began falling outside the Divination Commission.
It washed away the filth still lingering on the Luofu.
It was at that moment, while Qingque was out delivering data, that she ran into an unexpected visitor.
She immediately grinned.
"Oh! I was wondering who it was. Isn't this our big celebrity?"
"Aren't you still underwater, playing with your little undersea squad? Got tired of it already and decided to come ashore?"
"Instead of going home to sleep, you came to the Divination Commission? Volunteering for overtime?"
"..."
Levi moved slightly, and the rainwater on his clothes instantly disappeared.
"What are you saying! What kind of talk is that!"
He immediately criticized Qingque for not treating the Divination Commission like her home.
"As Diviners of the Divination Commission, we should treat this place as our own home, care for it, and cherish it."
"What you call overtime, to me, is no different from cooking or doing laundry at home. It's what we Diviners should be doing."
"Well said!"
As soon as he finished speaking, applause rang out.
Hearing the noise outside, Fu Xuan walked out of the room and saw Levi.
"I thought you weren't coming tonight."
"How could I not!"
Levi looked completely serious.
"The Divination Commission is my home. How could anyone not go home?"
"Excellent!"
Fu Xuan couldn't help praising him. Those words had gone straight to her heart.
Even though she knew Levi was talking nonsense and didn't mean a word of it.
That didn't stop her from using his words to teach the Diviners under her.
"Did you hear that, Qingque!"
"Huh?"
Qingque looked surprised. She hadn't expected to be the first one getting lectured.
"The Master Diviner is talking to you! Answer her!"
Glancing at Levi, who was standing beside Fu Xuan with an annoyingly smug expression, Qingque's eye twitched.
She lowered her head and answered weakly, "I understand, Lady Fu Xuan... I'll treat the Divination Commission like my home and work hard."
"..."
'Wait!'
'Treat the Divination Commission like home?'
'Being at the Divination Commission means being at home?!'
Qingque suddenly seemed to realize something.
She glanced at Levi beside Fu Xuan before quietly returning to finish her work.
Along the way, she kept thinking.
What was she like at home?
It seemed that besides eating, drinking, and having fun, she did absolutely nothing...
'Treat the Divination Commission like home?'
'Huh?!'
Qingque's eyes slowly widened.
She felt she had discovered the true meaning hidden in Levi's words.
"You're something else, Levi!"
As far as she knew, very few people in the Divination Commission were as disciplined as Fu Xuan.
Most people were just like her.
After work, they went home and turned into corpses on the couch whenever they had free time.
So what Levi had said...
On the surface, it sounded like a lecture.
In reality, it was a guide on how to slack off.
The best part was that Lady Fu Xuan still hadn't realized there was anything wrong with it.
But someone as disciplined as her, even at home, probably could never figure out what he meant.
After all, she had no idea just how lazy the rest of them were at home.
By the time Qingque returned after delivering the documents, Fu Xuan had already finished lecturing the other Diviners and had assigned Levi a job.
Sit beside Qingque and watch her.
Officially, it was called "learning."
In reality, it was plain and simple "surveillance."
Qingque strongly objected.
Fu Xuan simply replied, "Hold it in. Bring it up after work."
With her protest accomplishing nothing, Qingque sighed.
She had wanted Levi to come keep her company during overtime.
He did come.
But he still didn't have to do anything.
He just sat beside her slacking off, and Lady Fu Xuan didn't even look his way.
It wasn't like he lacked ability.
Even if he hadn't known anything before, after using her body for so long, he should've learned...
Not everything, but at least enough.
Yet Fu Xuan still refused to give him any work, only telling him to sit beside Qingque and learn.
Meeting Qingque's resentful little gaze, Levi shrugged and spread his hands.
"My strength won't allow it."
To be honest, he had wanted to sit at the desk and experience how Diviners worked.
But after spending a long time calculating only to arrive at a completely wrong answer, Fu Xuan had almost wanted to kick him out.
He couldn't even calculate the simplest data correctly.
Keeping him around would only take up space.
He might as well go home and sleep.
But since he had already come, Fu Xuan told him to grab a stool, sit beside Qingque, and learn from her.
Whenever he had time, he could also run errands and deliver documents for the other Diviners.
One thing had to be said.
He really was fast.
A round trip took no more than ten or so seconds.
It greatly reduced everyone's overtime.
They managed to finish before sunrise.
Now they could all go home and sleep for two hours...
"The urgent documents have all been processed. I'll handle the remaining ordinary data myself. Go home and get a full day's rest. You don't need to come to work today."
Fu Xuan rubbed her forehead as she spoke to the Diviners before her, who now walked like zombies.
There wasn't much left.
She could finish it herself.
Watching everyone else leave the Divination Commission, Fu Xuan returned to her seat and stretched.
"Ah... Let's see how much is left..."
She lowered her arms and looked down at the documents before her.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed something familiar sitting at the corner of the desk.
Picking it up, she found it was the Immortal's Happy Tea she usually drank to ease mental exhaustion.
The cup was still slightly warm.
There was also a note beside it.
[You've worked hard, Lady Fu Xuan.]
[...Left by Le "Gentleman" Vi.]
Looking at the note, Fu Xuan couldn't help smiling.
"That kid."
At least he had a bit of a conscience.
She inserted the straw and took a sip.
Feeling the sugar restore her energy and ease her mental fatigue, Fu Xuan returned to work.
———
In Exalting Sanctum, on an empty street, Levi silently carried Qingque toward home.
Hearing her steady breathing behind him, he sighed.
He had walked more tonight than he had in the entire past year.
In fact, he might not even walk this much over the next year.
Even with his Herrscher body, all this walking had left him uncomfortable.
His legs felt weak.
Anyone seeing him would probably think he'd done something exhausting last night.
After returning home, he settled Qingque onto the bed and let her sleep.
Levi checked the time.
4:19 in the morning.
He opened the group chat.
Just like yesterday morning.
[Levi: Everyone who's still asleep is a lazy dog!]
But unlike yesterday, at this hour today, he was probably the only one awake in the group.
Seeing no one respond, Levi opened his jade communicator and planned to watch some videos to relax.
"Hmm?"
He suddenly remembered something.
"Wasn't yesterday the day Guinaifen said they were going to the Fyxestroll Garden?"
He opened his messages and searched around, but couldn't find Guinaifen.
Slapping his forehead, Levi said, "I forgot... I don't even have Guinaifen's contact information..."
But with how heavily it had rained last night, and with everything involving Shuhu, they probably hadn't gone exploring in the Fyxestroll Garden.
At least Sushang was probably not in the mood.
He'd ask what happened after daybreak.
Ding!
A notification came from the group chat.
Levi opened it, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly.
"So someone really gets up this early."
"..."
