Chapter 217 - Chapter 217: Just a Shared Bicycle

Chapter 217: Just a Shared Bicycle

At this moment, Ya Fei had been waiting patiently in a small pavilion outside Xiao Yi Xian's room. Initially, when Soul Xin came running to report her concerns, Ya Fei didn't think much of it. After all, she knew Xiao Yan's flirtatious nature well. However, as more time passed, she began to sense that something wasn't quite right.

By the fourth day, curiosity got the better of her, and she finally went to check on Xiao Yi Xian's room. This timing, she reasoned, was based on her own stamina. If Xiao Yi Xian's endurance was comparable to hers, she should have already fainted by now.

Peeking through the crack in the door, she saw the pair the shameless couple entwined together. At first, Ya Fei was stunned, then she let out a resigned sigh and walked away.

By the fifth and sixth days, the couple still hadn't emerged, which left Ya Fei a little worried. Could Xiao Yi Xian have… died? This led her to return daily for a quick check, and today, she finally saw the two of them step out.

"You two…" Ya Fei's voice trailed off as she looked at the two energetic individuals in front of her.

Xiao Yan, of course, was his usual vigorous self. But why did Xiao Yi Xian look so radiant as well?

Her skin glowed with vitality, her complexion was fair and translucent, with a hint of a jade like sheen. It was as if her entire being had undergone a transformation.

"You… you've broken through to Dou Ling?" Ya Fei exclaimed in shock as she observed the subtle yet powerful aura emanating from Xiao Yi Xian.

When Xiao Yi Xian first arrived in the imperial capital, she was only at the initial stages of Da Dou Shi. Even with her unique physique that allowed for faster cultivation, such rapid progress was unheard of.

Ya Fei was almost certain that Xiao Yi Xian had jumped straight from the initial Da Dou Shi level to the Dou Ling stage within these past few days.

Noticing Ya Fei's surprised gaze, Xiao Yi Xian's cheeks flushed slightly, and she nodded shyly. "Yes… Thank you for checking on me these past few days, Sister Ya Fei."

Xiao Yan had already informed Xiao Yi Xian about Ya Fei's visits during their dual cultivation. Although it embarrassed her greatly, she had no choice but to endure it at the time.

"It's nothing. But you must have had quite a hard time these past few days," Ya Fei replied with a sly smile, glancing pointedly at Xiao Yan.

Ya Fei's sharp gaze made Xiao Yan grin sheepishly, but he didn't look the least bit embarrassed. Instead, he wore an expression of smug righteousness, as though he had accomplished a noble feat.

Over the seven days, Xiao Yan had genuinely helped Xiao Yi Xian refine the vast energy released by the Heavenly Scorpion Dragon Beast's magic core. Of course, the magic core contained far too much energy for Xiao Yi Xian to handle alone, so a significant portion was absorbed by Xiao Yan during their dual cultivation.

As a result, Xiao Yan's strength had surged, advancing from the early to the late stages of Five Star Dou Zong. Meanwhile, Xiao Yi Xian, though only refining a fraction of the energy, had also made a meteoric leap from the early Da Dou Shi stage to the initial Dou Ling stage.

After a brief conversation between the three of them, Xiao Yi Xian discreetly urged Xiao Yan to leave, understanding that keeping him to herself for so long might sow discontent among the others.

These women were all highly intelligent and maintained an unspoken understanding among themselves. They knew that the last thing Xiao Yan wanted was for discord to arise between them.

Thus, Xiao Yan, much like a shared bicycle, was passed between them in turn.

The so called "Crown Prince of the Xiao Clan"? In truth, he was nothing more than a shared bicycle for a group of women.

"You said what?" Ya Fei's beautiful eyes widened as she stared at Xiao Yan.

"I said… I want to rest," Xiao Yan declared, puffing out his chest.

"So, love fades, doesn't it?" Ya Fei's eyes welled up with tears, glistening as if on the verge of falling.

"You spent seven whole days dual cultivating with Xiao Yi Xian I didn't say anything. But now you can't even spare me one night?"

"Just one night! Let me rest!" Xiao Yan groaned, shaking his head in exasperation.

What Xiao Yan wanted was to be a great stallion, not the overworked donkey of a production team. Even the most insatiable of men would need to find inner peace after seven days straight.

His body wasn't the problem he was in perfect physical condition. But mentally? He felt a temporary exhaustion from overindulgence.

"Alright, I'll let you rest," Ya Fei relented with a sly glint in her eye.

That evening, Ya Fei invited Xiao Yan to dinner. Seeing no harm, Xiao Yan agreed, thinking a meal might help him unwind.

But shortly after eating, he noticed something strange.

"What… what did you put in this food?" Xiao Yan demanded.

"Nothing much," Ya Fei replied with a sweet smile, gently lifting his chin with her delicate hand. "It's just that our family recently acquired a jar of hundred year old Fire Spirit Wolfberry. I thought it'd be good for your health."

Xiao Yan froze for a moment before forcing a bitter smile.

"Fine, fine. I'll do as you wish," he sighed, resigning himself to his fate as Ya Fei pushed him toward the bed.

The next morning, Ya Fei, wrapped in a luxurious fox fur coat, leaned languidly against a chair, her face glowing with satisfaction. Meanwhile, Xiao Yan had slipped out of the room early, making his way to a pavilion by a small lake to fish.

The crisp air of early winter had already formed a thin layer of ice on the lake's surface, and the fish beneath the water seemed sluggish.

With a thought, Xiao Yan sent a wisp of flame into the water, gently warming a small area. Soon, the fish began to gather there, their appetites returning.

"Got one!" Xiao Yan laughed as he reeled in a fish. "Ah, fishing is so much more enjoyable than dealing with women."

Just as he was about to toss the fish into a bucket, a series of light, hopping footsteps reached his ears.

"Brother in law! Brother in law!" A crisp, youthful voice called out.

Xiao Yan turned to see Yao Yue, dressed in a young alchemist's robe, skipping toward him with a playful smile.

"Brother in law, my sister said you're needed at the palace to discuss strategy," Yao Yue said, her bright eyes twinkling.

"What strategy? I don't have time for that right now," Xiao Yan replied, waving her off as he continued fishing.

"She said she'd be wearing her dragon robe," Yao Yue teased. "If you don't come, don't regret it later!"

Hearing this, Xiao Yan perked up, his interest rekindled.

"Alright, I'm a little tired, but I can manage," he muttered, standing and flying off toward the palace with Yao Yue.

"Brother in law, you're so talented at refining pills and crafting strategies," Yao Yue gushed, her eyes filled with admiration. "Just a minor skill," Xiao Yan replied modestly, though a smile tugged at his lips.

"Both my sister and the ancestor said I should learn alchemy from you when I'm older," Yao Yue continued. "But I think I'm ready now!"

"You should wait until you're a bit more mature," Xiao Yan said with a serious expression.
