Hearing Fei Shi's suggestion to begin the experiment, Xiao Yan nodded slightly. Turning to the elders, he smiled and said, "What are you waiting for? Go prepare the materials!"
The elders snapped out of their stupor, realizing the truth in his words, and hurriedly moved to gather the ingredients.
It wasn't that Xiao Yan was unwilling to supply the materials himself; rather, the required ingredients were of such low grade that he didn't have them in his spatial ring.
Before long, the elders returned with an abundance of ingredients, presenting them to Xiao Yan.
"We should find a more spacious place to refine the pill," Xiao Yan suggested, scanning the hall they were in.
Though it was only a fifth tier pill they were attempting, this was the first experiment. Even with Xiao Yan's abilities, success wasn't guaranteed. Failure could result in a destructive backlash that might damage the hall.
The elders agreed immediately and quickly relocated to an outdoor alchemy square.
At the square, a few Alchemy Department students were busy refining pills. When they noticed the gathering of elders and saw the figure at the center of their attention, their curiosity was piqued.
"It's been a long time since the elders gathered like this. Who's that young man they're surrounding?"
"That's Elder Yan Xiao, the new alchemist in our department. Haven't you heard? He's a six tier alchemist!"

Caught off guard, Fei Shi gave an embarrassed chuckle. "Elder Yan Xiao, your flame control is extraordinary! If I could learn even a fraction of your skill, it would be the honor of my life."
Realizing the source of Fei Shi's awe, Xiao Yan relaxed. At least this old man doesn't have any strange intentions.
While the elders marveled at Xiao Yan's abilities, the surrounding students were equally enthralled.
"Amazing! He has a Heavenly Flame and such incredible control. No wonder he's an elder!"
"Do you think his alchemy is really better than our department head's?"

The elders were astonished.
Normally, extracting such pure essences would take an ordinary fifth tier alchemist an entire day. Xiao Yan had completed it in just one hour, all thanks to the power of his Heavenly Flame and exceptional skill.
"The power of a Heavenly Flame is truly incredible," Fei Shi murmured in awe.
With the essences prepared, Xiao Yan carefully added them one by one into the seven colored flame.
The flame formed a fire lotus, gradually closing around the ingredients to create a vibrant, multicolored bud.
The elders couldn't help but marvel again. Xiao Yan was refining a fifth tier pill without even using a cauldron a feat that was both daring and extraordinary.
The bud burned steadily for about an hour. Then, a fragrant aroma wafted through the air, revitalizing the onlookers.
However, both Xiao Yan and Fei Shi frowned slightly.
Moments later, a surge of unstable energy rippled from the bud.
"Back up! It's going to explode!" Fei Shi shouted, his face pale.
The students and elders scrambled to retreat, panic spreading through the square.
Just as the energy threatened to erupt, Xiao Yan raised his hand, clenching it into a fist.
The fiery bud collapsed into a massive flame hand that enveloped the unstable energy. With a muffled boom, the energy was entirely absorbed, leaving only a pile of ashes.
"Failed," Xiao Yan muttered, his brow furrowed as he mentally reviewed the process to identify the flaw.
Meanwhile, the spectators were left speechless.
Despite the failure, the sheer control Xiao Yan displayed during the near explosion left them in awe.
"Elder Yan Xiao… is incredible," a student whispered, breaking the silence.
