Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: Disciplining Wang Dong!

Chapter 123: Disciplining Wang Dong!

At the same time.

Ye Chen and Wang Dong had already returned to their dormitory.

"What's wrong? Why the long face?" Ye Chen asked casually, glancing at her.

"Hmph…"

Wang Dong gave a short huff and dove straight under her blanket, leaving only a whiff of faint sourness behind.

Not the scent of sweat—but unmistakable jealousy.

Yes, Ye Chen had given her a gift, but the way he was acting so close to Xiao Xiao still made her a little envious.

She hadn't shown it earlier while Xiao Xiao was around, but now that they were alone, she couldn't help sulking.

Mostly, though, she just wanted him to notice—and come over to coax her.

Ye Chen only shrugged, sat down on his own bed, and crossed his legs to begin cultivating.

Even though he hadn't been home for a while, his bed was spotless. Wang Dong still tidied it regularly—the quilt neatly folded, not a trace of dust, even carrying a light scent that reminded him vaguely of her.

"Hm… she wouldn't… actually be using my blanket, would she?" Ye Chen thought, then decided not to dwell on it.

...

Under the blanket, Wang Dong peeked out. When she saw Ye Chen sitting silently, eyes closed in meditation, her frustration reached a boil.

"Unbelievable… can't you tell I'm upset? You can't even comfort me a little?!" she fumed internally.

There was no way he couldn't tell she was jealous—he was obviously ignoring her on purpose!

She glared at him for a long while, waiting for some reaction—but Ye Chen's breathing just grew calmer as he sank into deeper cultivation.

Wang Dong: …

He really was doing this on purpose!

Too stubborn to speak first, she wrestled with herself for a bit.

But when he still didn't move, she finally gave in.

Quietly, she tiptoed over to his bed and climbed up beside him, inching closer little by little.

Ye Chen still didn't react.

"Ugh…" Wang Dong muttered softly, staring at him.

No matter how frustrated she felt, she couldn't help admiring that face of his.

Every line, every angle, was flawless.

She wouldn't call herself a total sucker for appearances—but when she'd first met Ye Chen, his looks had definitely caught her attention.

What kept her drawn to him, though, was his extraordinary talent and incredible power.

All her life, her peers had been weaker, slower, uninteresting. She never found anyone she could truly respect or call a friend.

Not because she looked down on people deliberately—she just couldn't connect with them.

Huo Yuhao had beaten her once, but she never accepted him as an equal. He was strong, sure, but in her eyes, still a simple-minded fool. She tolerated him, maybe even liked him as a friend—but not that kind of friend.

Then Ye Chen appeared.

For the first time, she felt she'd met her match—someone on her level.

And that was why she fell for him so quickly.

The longer she looked at him, the more her irritation faded away… replaced by something much warmer.

"What are you doing?"

Ye Chen suddenly opened his eyes, glancing at her with an exasperated look.

Though she hadn't touched him, her subtle scent filled the air—sweet and distracting enough to break his focus.

"Hmph! You're the one to talk. Be honest—did you fall for Xiao Xiao?" Wang Dong pouted, gripping his sleeve as she questioned him.

She looked fierce—but her eyes brimmed with hurt.

She was already tearing up before Ye Chen could even answer.

She was determined—if he admitted it, even for a moment, she'd burst into tears right then and there!

But Ye Chen wasn't about to answer such a loaded question.

Instead, he grabbed Wang Dong by the collar and pushed her gently into the corner, pretending to frown. "You dare raise your voice at me? Looks like someone needs some discipline."

Wang Dong: "Huh???"

"I didn't—wait—I wasn't—mmph!"

Before she could even finish, Ye Chen sealed her protest with a kiss.

Her wide eyes blinked in shock; her mind went completely blank.

The only coherent thought left was—he's so… bold… and I love it.

Her symbolic struggles lasted only seconds before she melted in his arms, surrendering to the "punishment."

...

...

Girls loved confidence—loved dominance.

Ye Chen had never quite understood why, but looking back on all those "CEO romance" novels from his past life, it made perfect sense.

The heroines always resisted at first—complaining, pouting, denying—but once the "overbearing president" made his move, resistance melted into passion.

When a man had true charm, whatever he did became right.

...

After a while.

Two sets of uniforms lay crumpled at the foot of the bed.

Wang Dong, face flushed scarlet, curled up quietly in Ye Chen's arms, too shy to speak.

Nothing truly happened, of course.

Ye Chen still had his limits.

After all, there was still that trace of Tang San's divine consciousness dormant in her soul. If disturbed, it could awaken—and that was not something he wanted to test.

For now, the divine presence remained asleep. So long as Ye Chen didn't push things too far, there was no danger.

In the original story, Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong had spent countless nights cultivating together, wrapped in each other's embrace; nothing ever happened then, either.

It wasn't until later, once they were officially together, that her divine imprint stirred—and ruined that peace.

But right now? Tang San wasn't paying attention.

So Ye Chen enjoyed the closeness while staying just shy of crossing the line.

"What was it you were asking me earlier?" he teased, poking her cheek lightly, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"N-nothing… you misheard," she mumbled, burying her face under the blanket, obviously flustered.

At this point, after what they'd shared, she didn't much care anymore. As long as Ye Chen didn't abandon her, she was content.

"Alright, enough sulking. Go back to cultivation. The freshman assessment's coming—you need to reach level thirty soon." Ye Chen patted her lightly on the hip, urging her up.

"Umm… shouldn't I at least put something on first…"

Wang Dong peeked toward their scattered uniforms and muttered weakly.

She might be used to him, but she still had her shy moments. How was she supposed to focus like this?

"This is perfect training for your willpower," Ye Chen said with a wicked grin. "A true soul master should be able to cultivate under any condition."

"Liar! You just want to look!" she shot back, cheeks glowing red—but still obeyed, wrapping her legs around his waist as they resumed dual cultivation.

"Mmm…"

Her breath quickened, but soon the rhythmic flow of soul power overtook her self-consciousness.

Strong energy surged between them, guiding both toward blissful focus and rapid growth—physical warmth blending seamlessly into the pulse of spiritual power.
