Chapter 80: 96. Tang Qi — Impossible, Absolutely Impossible
After killing Tang Qizhen, Tang Hao's eyes went blank.
This was the last thing he ever wanted to happen—his Clear Sky Hammer had once again struck down one of his own sect.
But why…
Why did they force him into this? He had never intended to harm them.
Why…
And the Spirit Hall—weren't they supposed to be the ones hunting him? Why had fate twisted so much this time?
"Tang Hao, you killed my son Qizhen! I'll make you pay with your life!" Tang Lie roared in fury, summoning his Clear Sky Hammer and charging.
"Ahhh—don't force me!" Tang Hao's voice broke out in rage. He swung his hammer to parry.
The two colossal hammers clashed, the impact deafening. Tang Lie's Clear Sky Hammer cracked and shattered, the force sending him flying dozens of meters away.
Clutching his bleeding chest, Tang Lie staggered to his feet, eyes reddened with grief and fury. He raised his shattered hammer, ready to rush forward again.
"Lie'er, you're no match for him," Tang Qi said, landing in front of his son to block his path.
"Father, I must avenge Qizhen!" Tang Lie cried.
Tang Qi stared pain-stricken at the crater where his grandson's mangled remains lay. "Yes, Qizhen was your son, but he was also my grandson. Lie'er, go—find the other elders. But listen carefully—don't call the Sect Master. Tang Hao is mine. I'll make him pay for my grandson's life."
Tang Lie hesitated.
"Hurry and go!" Tang Qi bellowed.
Clenching his teeth, Tang Lie nodded and flew off.
Tang Qi turned back, eyes burning with murderous intent. "Tang Hao, are you ready to bear the wrath of a Titled Douluo? Even if Tang Tian himself comes today, I'll still make you pay!"
He lifted his Clear Sky Hammer, surging blue soul power enveloping it like lightning coursing over steel.
"Ninth Soul Skill—Sky-Shattering Strike!" Tang Qi unleashed his ultimate move at once, swinging down at Tang Hao.
"Why… why do you all keep forcing me?" Tang Hao's voice trembled as killing intent from the Killing God Domain overwhelmed his reason.
His eyes flared with blood-red light. Murderous aura erupted around him, forming a vast field that centered on little Tang San.
He gripped the Clear Sky Hammer tightly, his eight soul rings blazing around him.
"Clear Sky Hammer—Ring Detonation!"
His eighth and seventh rings exploded, transforming into pure energy that poured into the hammer.
"Great Sumeru Hammer!"
Unlike Tang Qi's blue hammer, Tang Hao's was a blood-red juggernaut. The two tremendous weapons collided head-on—there was no contest at all.
Tang Hao's Clear Sky Hammer smashed Tang Qi's weapon apart like tofu.
"Impossible—absolutely impossible! You only have eight rings!" Tang Qi stared in disbelief as the blood-red hammer came crashing down upon him.
He knew the Great Sumeru Hammer was powerful, but not this powerful. It shouldn't have been enough to completely shatter his martial soul.
"No! No, not the Clear Sky Hammer—!" Tang Hao gasped as clarity returned to him. He hadn't expected Elder Tang Qi's hammer to break so easily. Without his martial soul, Tang Qi would surely die under this next blow.
But by then, Tang Hao could no longer stop the momentum.
With an earth-shaking boom, the hammer fell—and Tang Qi was crushed into a puddle of flesh.
In the Divine Realm, within the Asura God Palace—
The Asura God observed with satisfaction. "Good… very good. As expected from the guardian I've chosen."
To guarantee his "Precious Child's" safety, he had discreetly granted Tang Hao a temporary enhancement—through the Killing God Domain, multiplying his strength several times. As for how many times, well, only the Asura God himself decided that.
Still, even with his small "boost," Tang Hao's performance far exceeded expectations. Destroying the martial soul of a top-tier weapon-type Titled Douluo and killing him outright—that was impressive even to the god.
Meanwhile, in the Eternal Temple—
Huo Yuhao put down his pen. Moments before, he had ever so slightly weakened Tang Qi's final strike, turning it into a pretty but powerless maneuver.
As a result, Tang Hao had one-shot him.
Closing the Eternal Chronicle, Huo Yuhao clapped his hands cheerfully. "A perfect instant kill! Brilliant! To fell a Titled Douluo with the power of a Soul Douluo—what a performance! Tang Hao, you've earned the right to be proud. But it's still not enough. With Brother Hao watching over you, feel free to keep showing off—your glory is assured."
Far away, Tang Lie was still fleeing when a tremendous explosion shook the mountain behind him.
He turned, wide-eyed. From the forest rose a massive blood-red hammer aura—it wasn't his father's. It was Tang Hao's.
"No… Father…"
He considered going back, but when he extended his spiritual sense toward that direction, the oppressive might of Tang Hao's murderous aura struck him like lightning. Terror froze him on the spot.
Grinding his teeth, he finally turned away. "Tang Hao… just you wait. The elders will avenge my father and our bloodline." Then he sped toward the other elders.
Back at the battlefield, the blood-red hammer shrank down and vanished in Tang Hao's hand.
He stood silently, staring at the two pits—their bottoms dark and slick with what remained of his sect peers. His body trembled, his weathered face contorted with pain.
Once again, his Clear Sky Hammer was stained with the blood of his own sect.
He wanted to ask the Clear Sky Sect: Why did you come to kill me? Why push me into this corner?
He wanted to ask the Spirit Hall: I destroyed so many of your halls—where are you? Aren't you supposed to hunt me down, so I can build my legend atop your corpses?
And he wanted to ask the Asura God: I appreciate the power-up, but did you really have to overdo it like this? When I fought Qian Xunji, you didn't make me this strong!
Thinking of Tang San's future godhood eased his heart a little. A god could do anything—revive the dead, correct the past.
Tang Hao dropped to his knees before the two mangled corpses, kowtowing repeatedly. Elder Tang Qi, Nephew Qizhen… I am sorry. When my son Tang San becomes a god, I swear he will bring you both back and set all wrongs right.
Afterward, he returned to Ah Yin's side, his voice hoarse. "Ah Yin, you saw it yourself—I will never let anyone harm you. Not even my sect. Doesn't this prove my sincerity?"
Ah Yin's face remained cold and lifeless, her silence heavier than any words.
Tang Hao sighed. "Enough. Let's leave this place. I don't want to fight my sect anymore."
He lifted little Tang San into his arms, released the seal binding Ah Yin's soul power, took her hand, and walked away.
