"This is a blue planet whose surface is 71% covered by seawater. Humanity is born, grows, thrives, and develops its civilization in this azure expanse.
However, alongside them are constantly expanding ambitions and desires. Beneath the seemingly calm global structure, the undercurrents of history surge.
Finally, an unknown enemy appeared in the oceans. Facing the enemy's overwhelming combat power, the various factions still fought amongst themselves, which ultimately led to a tragic outcome: humanity lost control of over 90% of the seas, and technological and living standards rapidly deteriorated.
Humanity developed a deep fear of the ocean and the unknown enemy, labeling the monsters that dragged them into the deep-sea darkness as 'Sirens.'
One day, humans discovered a marvelous item called the Wisdom Cube. It possessed immense and mysterious power, but humans could never harness its energy until, one day, a young man named Lu Chen accidentally activated the power within a Wisdom Cube, and thus the Ship Girls came into existence…"
Purifier, one of the higher-ups in the Siren experimental organization, was vividly recounting the history of this world to Albacore, but Albacore yawned boredly: "Purifier, how many times have you told this story? Are you addicted to being a teacher? All your glorious achievements are ancient history. Do you know everyone treats you as a joke character now?"
"That's just me holding back! Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to sink me dozens or hundreds of times so easily!" Purifier shouted in exasperation.
"Shh, stop arguing. Noshiro is awake!" a girl said excitedly.
Noshiro opened her eyes and rose from the sleep pod. As soon as she looked up, she was startled. Five or six women with varied expressions were staring intently at her. Their faces displayed a kaleidoscope of emotions: excitement, joy, annoyance…
"Why are you all looking at me like that?" Noshiro asked uncomfortably.
"What amazing luck, to happen to be here when Commander awakened," a long, light purple-haired girl said with a smile.
Taihou was also in the crowd, gnashing her teeth unwillingly. "You jumped the gun, you sneak! I was so close! Albacore, why did you drag me away?!"
Albacore stared blankly at the ice cream in front of her. "Everyone told me to. They said you scared the Commander."
"Who said that! Commander clearly felt my burning love for him!"
A small cat girl with long, sweeping green pigtails squeezed through the crowd, shouting, "Don't fight, nya! The priority now is to get crucial intelligence about the Commander from Noshiro, nya."
"Akashi is right. If anyone tries to disrupt the order, I will have to ask her to leave." A tall, black-haired mature woman sat beside another sleep pod, gently stroking its surface. Lu Chen lay soundly asleep inside. She said lovingly, "My poor Commander, what have you endured?"
"He was drained dry by the Ship Girls," Purifier muttered suddenly, but no one paid her any attention.
When the black-haired woman spoke, everyone's excitement was suppressed. They reluctantly dispersed, leaving only Akashi standing in front of Noshiro.
"I have a few questions for you. You must answer me truthfully, nya," Akashi pulled out a tablet, tapped it a few times, and said to Noshiro.
"Please ask."
Akashi asked: "When did the Commander first gain self-awareness?"
"At 9:00 this morning, the Commander suddenly fell asleep in class. About half an hour later, when Purifier was teasing the Commander as usual, he began to react on his own."
Hearing this, everyone present looked delighted. For them, this was the best news they had heard in a long time.
The girls were not human. Although they possessed human-like appearances, they held power greater than warships. They were the mighty Ship Girls, born through special tools called Wisdom Cubes, and Lu Chen was their Commander.
With the advent of the miraculous and powerful Ship Girls and Lu Chen's command, the Sirens were repeatedly defeated. Humanity once again regained control of the sea. Although the deepest parts of the ocean remained unconquered, this was a massive improvement compared to the worst-case scenario before.
The place where they lived was an island far from the mainland. Under Lu Chen's leadership, the girls established a large Port here. They spent their days fighting the Sirens and accompanying the Commander, living a very leisurely life. That is, until an accident one month ago shattered the long-lasting peace.
An explosion suddenly occurred in the Commander's office. When the Ship Girls rushed to clean up the wreckage, they unexpectedly dug out a comatose Lu Chen. This fact stunned every Ship Girl present.
The previous Lu Chen had always been by their side, but he was like a visible but untouchable phantom—they could communicate, but not touch. Some Ship Girls had wondered whether their Commander was truly human or even if he was an AI, but they hadn't dwelled on it. The Commander was the Commander, regardless of his nature.
Now, a comatose Lu Chen appeared before them, and the deep stirring in their hearts confirmed that the man before them was indeed their beloved Commander. Although the Ship Girls didn't know what had happened, they understood one thing—the Commander was physically present with them for the first time.
After a brief frenzy of joy, they faced a new problem: how to wake the Commander? Vestal and Akashi had examined him, and Lu Chen's body was perfectly normal. The problem was likely in his brain, making the situation tricky.
Just as everyone prepared to delve into neurosurgery and neurology materials, an unexpected visitor brought a device to wake Lu Chen: Purifier.
"Honestly, I don't know what you Ship Girls are even good for. You fight us so fiercely with six or seven hundred people in the Port, yet you can't even take proper care of one living person." Whenever she thought of this, Purifier would say indignantly, "If your minds are filled with nothing but smut, you should hand him over to us. We guarantee he'll be plump and healthy."
"Thank you for your assistance, but handing over the Commander is absolutely out of the question," the black-haired mature woman, Friedrich der Große, said. "Now that the Commander shows signs of recovery, can you tell us why you are helping us, who are supposed to be your enemies?"
Purifier paused, a look of unknown meaning in her eyes, and said softly: "Because he is our only solution."
