Li Daoxuan carried the newly-modified solar-powered mini-car and sat down in front of the display box.
It was still early morning; the tiny villagers had just gotten out of bed.
He didn't even need to play morning calisthenics on his phone anymore—the kids had memorized the entire routine. They lined up neatly and chanted in unison:
"Section One, Stretching Exercise… one, two, three, four…"
As the children exercised, the labor prisoners—who had already eaten breakfast—got to work.
After days of hard labor, quite a few houses in Gaojia Village now had real wooden doors and window frames.
The doors were proper, solid doors.
The windows, however, had no paper—because the village still couldn't make paper.
So they just had empty frames.
Li Daoxuan searched the village for a moment before spotting Gao Yiye.
Today she wasn't wearing her usual dignified white robes. Instead, she was dressed in a simple cotton outfit, smiling brightly at everyone she passed.
"Look, I spun and wove this myself! Cut and stitched it too! Pretty good, right? My tailoring skills are almost catching up to Third Auntie Gao!"
The villagers looked at each other and shook their heads helplessly.
"Saint Maiden… if you dress like that… Dao Xuan Tianzun, he…"
Yiye puffed up her cheeks.
"Dao Xuan Tianzun personally decreed I'm allowed to!"
Everyone: "…"
Li Daoxuan, in a good mood, called out softly:
"Yiye! Hey, Yiye!"
Yiye instantly snapped to attention and looked up.
"Ah! Dao Xuan Tianzun! You've arrived—what are your orders?"
The moment she spoke, the nearby villagers straightened their backs and stared reverently toward the sky.
Li Daoxuan said, "I need two people with big guts, thick skin, and no fear of death to drive this."
The villagers immediately knew who he meant.
They shouted in unison:
"Gao Chuwu! Zheng Danio! Dao Xuan Tianzun summons you!"
The two blockheads instantly dropped what they were doing and scampered to Yiye's side.
"Dao Xuan Tianzun, what do you need us to do?"
Li Daoxuan said, "Leave the village and stand out there on the open flat ground."
Everyone obeyed and rushed out of the village. Shansier came to watch too, along with a large crowd of villagers. Aside from the schoolchildren still in class, the entire population of Gaojia Village had gathered.
Even the labor prisoners up on the hillside put down their tools and turned to watch.
Only then did Li Daoxuan lower the solar mini-car onto the ground.
The villagers stared upward as a strange object descended. From the four wheels, they could tell it was a car of some kind—but its shape was completely different from a carriage, with an odd cloth canopy on top.
And it was huge—six meters long, nearly five meters wide, and around three meters tall.
Li Daoxuan asked, "Gao Chuwu, Zheng Danio—have either of you driven a vehicle before?"
Both shook their heads.
"Have you at least guided a plow?"
Both nodded at the same time.
"Good. If you've handled a plow, you at least have some idea of left and right."
He pointed to the handlebars on the front of the small car—like those on a walking tractor.
"Think of that as the plow handles. Turn left, turn right. Understand?"
Gao Chuwu grinned widely.
"One look and I understand! Hahaha! I'm so smart!"
Everyone sucked in a cold breath.
You… you actually said that out loud?
Li Daoxuan continued, "Good. You'll control the steering.
Zheng Danio, you see that weird piece of cloth on the car?"
"I see it!"
"When you pull it open, the car will move. When you close it, the car stops."
"Open to go, close to stop! Got it! Hahaha! I'm smart too!"
Another collective gasp.
You ALSO think you're smart?
"Alright," Li Daoxuan said. "Climb up and work together. Try to get it moving."
In front of the entire village, the two big idiots climbed onto the solar car.
The car was one zhang high—real-world height 1.5 cm, scaled to three meters in the miniature world.
Climbing up was hard enough that anyone with slightly worse athletic ability wouldn't make it.
Li Daoxuan thought to himself:
I didn't consider this… I need to add a ladder. Otherwise Cai Xinzi will think I've been eating mushrooms again.
The moment they got up, before Gao Chuwu even reached the steering handle, Zheng Danio strolled up to the cloth curtain, chuckled like a fool, and yanked it fully open.
The solar panel ignited into full power.
The car surged forward with a thunderous roar.
In the real world, the car moved slower than a lazy turtle—barely ten centimeters per second under full sunlight.
But scaled two-hundredfold in the miniature world, its speed became the equivalent of almost 100 kilometers per hour.
Neither idiot had the slightest warning.
The vehicle accelerated instantly—too fast for any normal person to react.
Both of them toppled head-over-heels as the car barreled straight toward the labor prisoners' colorful Lego-brick city wall.
"WAH! SO FAST!" Zheng Danio screamed.
"Chuwu! Control the steering! We're gonna crash!"
Gao Chuwu was plastered against the floor of the car, trembling.
"I can't get up! Close the curtain! CLOSE THE CURTAIN!"
Zheng Danio wailed, "I can't get up either! I CAN'T REACH IT!"
Gao Chuwu: "WE'RE GONNA DIE!"
Zheng Danio: "MOTHER SAVE MEEE—!"
The villagers all covered their ears in horror.
Just as the solar car was about to smash into the Lego wall, Li Daoxuan pinched two fingers together and lifted the car right off the ground.
The wheels kept spinning in the air, but the car floated safely above the earth.
Only then were the two idiots able to climb back to their feet.
They kowtowed in thanks to Dao Xuan Tianzun.
Zheng Danio quickly closed the curtain, and the wheels stopped spinning.
Gao Chuwu glared at him.
"You idiot! You're supposed to wait until I reach the steering plow before opening the curtain!"
"How was I supposed to know YOU'RE so slow, idiot?!"
"You're the idiot!"
"No, YOU ARE!"
"Enough," Li Daoxuan cut in.
He lowered the car gently to the ground.
"Danio, open the curtain slowly next time. Don't yank it in one go. Gradually increase the light to control the speed. More light means faster. No light means it stops. Understand?"
Zheng Danio nodded rapidly.
"I understand!"
"Good. Again."
Li Daoxuan withdrew his hand.
Gao Chuwu grabbed the "steering plow."
Zheng Danio gently, very gently lifted the curtain—
The car began rumbling forward again, this time accelerating more smoothly, topping out around sixty kilometers per hour.
Gao Chuwu laughed loudly.
"Watch me turn left!"
He jerked the steering handle violently to the left—far too violently.
The mini-car flipped sideways in a dramatic roll.
Both idiots shrieked:
"AAAAAAH WE'RE GONNA DIE—!!"
The crowd covered their eyes in unison.
Li Daoxuan sighed and caught the car again with one hand before it hit the ground.
"Two idiots," he muttered.
Gao Yiye immediately declared:
"Law of Dao Xuan Tianzun: TWO IDIOTS."
The entire village repeated, loud and proud:
"TWO! IDIOTS!"
And then everyone burst into laughter.
