After everyone had finished looking over the program, the assistant coach spoke up again.
"You can access the monthly version of this program on the club's official website or on the club notice board," she said.
Thanks to these programs, we would be able to continue our development in a more organized and disciplined way. I was already excitedly wondering how many points I would earn after completing the activities listed in the program.
After giving a few more details about the schedule, the assistant coach handed out another sheet of paper to each of us. As I took mine, I noticed that everyone's paper was different. I immediately looked down at mine and saw the title written at the top:
"Ryan Miller – Nutrition Plan."
The assistant coach continued, "Nutrition plans have been prepared for all of you based on your height, weight, and the information we obtained from your medical tests. You can take a look at them now."
I began examining the paper in my hands.
Monday:
Breakfast (6:30–7:30)
• 2 eggs
• 2 slices of whole wheat bread
• White cheese
• 1 glass of milk
• 1 fruit
Snack (10:30)
• A handful of hazelnuts + an apple
Lunch (13:30 – at school)
• Meat and vegetable dish
• Rice
• Yogurt
After School (16:00)
• 1 bowl of yogurt with honey
Dinner (19:30)
• Chicken / fish
• Vegetables
• 1 slice of bread
I carefully examined the nutrition plan prepared for Monday at the top of the page. Each meal was listed separately, with exactly what I needed to eat written next to it. After that, I looked at Tuesday's plan. Since it was a training day, additional pre-training and post-training meals had been included. Fruits and foods rich in vitamins and carbohydrates had been prepared to help restore my energy before and after training.
I continued reviewing the rest of the list. After checking all the days, it was clear how detailed and carefully prepared the plan was. Separate nutrition programs had been created for everyone based on their height and weight, covering rest days, training days, and match days. If I followed this plan properly, my physical attributes would improve significantly.
After a while, the assistant coach spoke again.
"The nutrition plans provided may change weekly depending on adjustments to the training schedule. A one-month nutrition plan will be sent to your email. You must follow the given plan strictly. You should know that everyone currently at this club follows a nutrition plan like this, and their physical condition is the result of sticking to it. If you follow this program as well, your development will increase noticeably."
After finishing my review of the nutrition plan, the assistant coach took us on a tour of the club. First, she showed us the area where we would conduct tactical and game-based training sessions. The field had been carefully arranged for these drills. There were various training tools set up for dribbling exercises, small-sided games, shooting, and passing drills. Among the most common equipment, the ones that caught my eye were mini goals, cones, balance boards, and free-kick mannequins. As we looked around, Alex, Ben, and I excitedly talked about the variety of training equipment.
After checking out the equipment on the field, the assistant coach led us to the indoor gym inside the club facilities. As soon as I walked in, I was genuinely surprised by its size. In my previous life, I had signed up for gyms many times, but this was the first time I would be using one this large. Considering it was a club gym, its size made sense.
Once inside, the assistant coach briefly introduced equipment such as dumbbells, bench press benches, and barbells. While she was explaining the equipment, a man in his thirties approached us. His head was shaved, and he had an incredibly muscular build. He greeted the assistant coach first, then looked at us and said:
"Hello, I'm Todd Clark. I'm responsible for the Greenfield Rovers academy gym. All academy teams up to the U19 level use this gym together. From now on, if anything comes up related to the gym, you can come to me."
After talking with Mr. Todd for a short while, the assistant coach continued the club tour.
