Pei Lifu went home shortly afterwards. She wanted to immediately fire the servant but she knew not to startle the snake.
She didn't say anything but spent less time at home.
On the other side, Xu Wei was thinking about how to contact Meilin. He somewhat regretted not asking for her contact information.
Just as he was wondering whether to investigate her, he ran into her again.
Xu Wei was taken aback but couldn't bring himself to say anything rude.
*What a coincidence."
She smiled softly.
"It's not a coincidence. I sought you out deliberately."
Xu Wei paused slightly.
"Let's talk?"
She inclined her head.
"Let's."
They walked into a nearby café and sat down.
Meilin asked seemingly casually.
"How's your friend?"
"He's fine"
"You should bring him over sometime."
Xu Wei was noncommittal. Meilin didn't push, looking as if she was merely trying to make a conversation.
"I was a bit abrupt last time and I apologize for that"
Xu Wei nodded once.
