Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Too Terrifying

"You actually defeated a Cryo Hilichurl Armor King!?" Diona covered her small mouth, her eyes wide.

Star, across from her, had an embarrassed smile on his face, muttering that it was nothing.

Originally, Diona had heard that Star accepted a quest to defeat a Cryo Hilichurl Armor King and had complained about why he would do such a dangerous thing and why he didn't tell her.

But she didn't expect that when she saw Star again, he had actually completed the quest.

And after her careful inspection, Star indeed seemed unharmed.

"Although the process was actually quite tough." Star leaned on the counter, recounting yesterday's experience to Diona.

His so-called toughness referred to the haggling with the Adventurers' Guild squad at the foot of the snowy mountains.

In the end, he even had to use his charm to get information from Yu Xia.

Although this tactic was very effective, Yu Xia, a mature female, was so charmed by him that she acted like an innocent young Damselette. But this method was still a bit undignified.

"Hmph, even if you're very strong, going to a place like the snowy mountains to face such a dangerous enemy is still too reckless." Diona snorted lightly. She still had some complaints about Star taking on such a dangerous commission.

She also knew about monsters like the Cryo Hilichurl Armor King. Her father occasionally hunted in the snowy mountains and would tell her how dangerous the snowy mountains were when he came home.

If it were her, she would probably only be able to run for her life when facing a Cryo Hilichurl Armor King.

"But how did you do it? Did you set some kind of trap?" Diona asked curiously.

Influenced by her father, she was very proficient in hunting. Therefore, she instinctively thought that perhaps Star used some kind of trap to successfully defeat that Cryo Hilichurl Armor King.

"No… I just hit it twice with a stick." Star shook his head and answered truthfully.

"A stick, a stick?" Diona looked at Star in surprise. After all, she hadn't seen Star's weapon yet. When he mentioned a stick, the first thing that came to her mind was the ones Hilichurls used.

"You use that kind of weapon?" Diona's gaze, Star couldn't tell if it was pity or admiration.

Perhaps in her opinion, that kind of weapon was simply too crude?

"It's very handy." Star smiled. He couldn't conveniently take out his baseball bat to show Diona in this tavern.

But at least it was Lady Herta's collection. Star felt that there shouldn't be any weapon in this world that could compare to his baseball bat.

"Here, your drink." Diona had also finished mixing the drink and pushed the cup towards Star.

"Thank you." Star took the straw and drank happily. This time, the taste was even better than what Diona had mixed before, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

"Speaking of which, last time you secretly left the Mora, I haven't settled the score with you yet." Diona suddenly remembered something, put her hands on her hips, and looked at Star with a fierce, yet adorable, expression.

Diona had said she would treat him, so she had no intention of having Star return the Mora.

"Hmm? What do you mean secretly left the Mora? I don't know anything about that…" Star nervously averted his gaze, sipping his drink in small mouthfuls.

But soon, his gaze was drawn back to Diona's twitching tail.

Before, he had only touched her ears at most. He wondered if there would be any chance to feel her tail as well.

Hmm… No, I need to find a way.

"Phew~"

"Paimon, you're back. How was it? Did you find Star?" Seeing Paimon return to the tavern, Lumine immediately got up to greet him.

"Mhm, I found him. I also told him about tonight's matter, and he agreed." Paimon flew a circle around Lumine, then nodded.

"That's good. With him here, the success rate of our plan should increase significantly." Lumine breathed a sigh of relief.

Although she couldn't say she fully understood Star's strength, she knew Star was definitely not weak.

In this world, ordinary people without a Vision don't have a high ceiling, but Star, after all, came from outside this world and possessed a power she completely didn't understand.

Previously, she hadn't asked Star for help purely because the situation hadn't reached a very serious point. Now that an unexpected situation had arisen, the more people they had on their side, the better.

"The Star you're talking about, is he the Grey-haired girl who was with you before?" The green-clad boy, sitting across from the table where Lumine had just been, asked the two of them.

"Mhm, he's also from outside this world, and he's very powerful too." Paimon nodded.

In reality, he hadn't really seen Star fight much. The only time was when he fought a few Hilichurls and Slimes.

But since Lumine said he was very powerful, then he must be very powerful, Paimon unconditionally trusted Lumine.

"I see~ Being able to block a blow from Dvalin, he's indeed not weak." The green-clad boy recalled the scene he had witnessed earlier.

To be honest, if he could help it, he didn't really want to involve that Damselette. She was definitely a variable among variables.

Especially that thing inside his body, it was truly a bit too terrifying…

"Hmm? So you didn't leave then?" Lumine raised an eyebrow, looking at the green-clad boy with an unhappy expression.

"Haha… I just hid to the side." The green-clad boy laughed awkwardly.

He certainly wouldn't have left directly then, after all, he didn't want anything to happen to Dvalin.

Fortunately, at that time, that Damselette mainly focused on blocking, and Dvalin also had no intention of continuing to attack. If they had really fought, the outcome would have been uncertain.

"In short, with that Damselette, plus the people Master Diluc called, the plan to save Dvalin should be completed very smoothly."

"Oh dear, that puts my mind at ease. I should have a drink to celebrate in advance…"

"Wait, don't you have no Mora?" Paimon quickly asked.

The green-clad boy paused slightly, but he didn't seem to dwell on it for too long and soon continued walking towards the bar.

"This time, just put it on my tab. Later, when I perform, I'll have as much Mora as I want."

"This guy…" Lumine looked at the green-clad boy's retreating back and sighed, somewhat speechless.

She had long suspected that this guy was not an ordinary person, and even had some guesses about his true identity.

But she never expected this person to have such a free-spirited personality.

She also didn't know if she could still get the answers she wanted from him.

"Let's go rest for a bit. We still need to discuss the plan to save Dvalin tonight." Paimon, on the other hand, didn't think that much.

"Yes, you're right." Lumine nodded, having no objection.
