"Hey.. are you done, buddy?" Harshit asked.
"Yeah.. I'm full.." Chayu said as if he was fully satisfied.
"You eat a lot.. don't you?" Divina said with a warm tone.
"Well… that's what I'm good at…" Chayu joked.
"Oh ho, really? You're the best at sleeping, aren't you…" Harshit commented.
"Then you can say.. I'm multi-talented." Chayu seemed to be proud of himself.
"Okay then, let's go," Parth commanded this time.
"Yes, boss." This time Divina joined too.
"Okay, so first we're going to the auditorium; the performance is going to start.." Parth walked with a fast pace.
"Hey, is it just me, or is he walking fast?" Chayu asked.
"Clearly he is.. but sure, he is excited..." Harshit replied.
"Why?" Chayu asked while jogging.
"Well... You have to ask him for it…" Harshit chuckled.
"Hey Parth! Wait for me, buddy..." Chayu said and ran to him.
"What?" Parth asked.
"Why are you so fast?" Chayu asked directly.
"Don't you know? Lauq is dancing, or, as I say, Lauq is performing as a girl…" Parth laughed.
"Hey, what's bad about performing in functions, and why is performing related to girls… huh?" Divina becomes angry at discrimination.
"What are you? A dodo?" Parth replied.
Chayu laughed awfully after hearing the word dodo. He then said,
"Wait… you don't mean...." As if Chayu understood something, he shouted hurriedly, "Then why are we so slow??"
He held Divina's hand and started running towards the auditorium, followed by Parth and Harshit.
They reached the auditorium while heavily breathing since they ran all the way.
"Hey, are we late?" Chayu saw another friend of his and asked hurriedly.
"Nah... in fact you're early.. not by much though.." He said, calming Chayu down.
"Thank god we're on time.." Chayu felt pretty relaxed, and he heaved a sigh of relief.
Divina suddenly realized that Chayu still didn't let her hand go and was very embarrassed.
(Does this dummy not understand what it means to roam while holding hands with a girl?) She thought internally.
"Ahem..." Divina hinted to Chayu.
"Ah, sorry... I didn't realize it…" Chayu hurriedly left her hand and was flustered as well.
"That's... Okay.." she said awkwardly.
(So he really is a dummy.) She chuckled internally.
"Hey, it's starting." Harshit waved to Chayu from his seat.
"Yeah, coming..." Chayu waved back and turned towards Divina. "Let's go."
(Ahh… I don't know why I am following them all day... Well... It isn't that bad though. She was fighting with her thoughts while following Chayu.
"It's starting..." Chayu became excited.
Everyone came wearing a female dress and was dancing in the act of performance.
"I can't believe Lauq actually agreed to that." Chayu was laughing awfully, and so did his friends.
(They really meant when Parth said that.) She smiled weirdly after realizing that she was angry without knowing properly.
The play ended, and they exited the auditorium.
"Hey Parth..." Divina called.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"I... I am sorry.. I didn't know you meant that.." said Divina.
"Yeah, that's fine; after all, you're a friend too." Parth simply forgives her.
(What? Are these boys weird, or am I the one? I thought he would say something…) She was shocked due to the sudden forgiveness and was really doubting this abnormal behavior of these boys. The most abnormal was Chayu, of course.
"Yo.. Dodo, lost in thoughts?" Chayu tapped her head.
"Ah.. no... Wait, who are you calling Dodo?" She glared.
"Of course a cute miss in front of me…" He wanted to convince her but unknowingly flirted. Since he thought this might be common among friends.
"What?... I.. Idiot!" She kicked him and walked. If Chayu were to see her face, he would know how flustered she was.
(This idiot will always be a dummy… calling me cute out of nowhere), she thought while walking away.
"Hey! Wait, Dodo! That's the wrong direction…" Chayu stopped her.
She became more embarrassed but excused herself: "I'm going to the washroom..."
"Should I wait..." Before Chayu could ask, she disappeared.
(Hmm… what should I do now? Well, I'll just wait for a few minutes, he thought.
He waited for a very long time, almost about twenty minutes, but she didn't come back. He was worried and decided to find her.
He followed the direction she walked. Asked a few people but couldn't find her.
He was running and running and running...
Suddenly he looked out of the window while running.
It was Divina, but she walked behind the building while following a group of boys.
He ran there and saw the boys harassing her.
"Oye.. what do you think you're doing?" Chayu shouted.
"Listen, boy... get out before it gets tough for you.." one of them warned.
Chayu got close and saw Divina crying there, standing helpless. And stood in front of Divina as if he was protecting her.
"Well, it seems you've done something you shouldn't have.." He was enraged, too enraged.
They laughed, "Oh, what can a punk like you even do?"
"Me? Come and test..." Chayu looked in the eyes of the one who said it.
The boy went quiet as if he had seen a ghost.
"Okay, I'm giving you a last chance.. apologize to her..." He said with a heavy voice..
"A little punk like you.." One of them rushed towards Chayu as if he was going to hit him. He was muscular and a bit taller than Chayu. He was looking like the strongest one of his group.
"You punk!" He launched a punch to Chayu's face.
"Chayu!" Divina got scared.
"You think you chose the right option?" Chayu actually dodged that punch.
Chayu attacked with a kick on his face. Boom!
It knocked the muscular boy down. He was lying unconscious.
"Hey.. that boy took down Brudy with one kick." One of them got really scared.
The crowd developed near them watching the show.
"Hey.. what's happening here?" Parth and Harshit reached near the crowd but didn't have any idea what was going on.
"Oh… you see, there's a boy beating the shit out of those guys.." a nerdy boy directed a finger towards Chayu, who was beating the group.
They noticed Chayu and laughed.
Who the hell are they messing with? Chayu? No way…) They laughed a lot.
"Hey, what happened?" Parth asked.
"I'll… tell you later… come help me first.." He was still beating them, and they were fighting back too, but it wasn't helping them.
"Well, that's fine by us." They both joined and beat the shit out of them. Now they lay with their friend who attacked Chayu first. Ironically, they were all unconscious now.
Then Parth and Harshit helped Chayu to clear the crowd.
When everything was cleared, Harshit asked, "So what actually happened?"
"Well, they harassed Dodo, and she cried so.. I couldn't control my anger.." He answered sincerely.
"Knew they deserved their beating… you aren't the one to start a fight," Parth said with a smile.
"Oh man, that was fun." Harshit said while stretching.
"Hey, are you fine, Dodo?" Chayu patted her head.
"I was scared.. really scared..." She hugged him and cried.
"Don't worry.. it's fine now... Everything is fine… no one's going to hurt you.." Chayu calmed her down.
Parth and Harshit were admiring the view.
After some time, she finally calmed down. They went to ground.
"Ahh man, we should eat something.." Chayu suggested.
"Hey, you just ate in the afternoon... it's just evening…" Harshit rejected since he was full.
"Well, can't I eat more? And food will cheer her up.."said Chayu.
She chuckled.
"Okay, I'll bring you… say what you wanna eat?" Harshit asked.
"Well, I'll go for sweet corn," Chayu said while swallowing his water.
"What about you?" Chayu asked her.
"I... I'll take the same.." She said.
Harshit left with Parth to find the stall of sweet corn.
