Chapter 7 - Ch 7: Second Game

As soon as he confirmed his first place, Andrew started walking toward the forest. The god noticed him and immediately confronted him about it.

"Hey, where are you going? If you head to the forest, we can no longer guarantee your safety. There are a lot of dangerous creatures in the forest."

The god warned him, but Andrew did not stop walking. Soon, his form disappeared in the forest, but the god above him did not follow. He had more important things to take care of… like egg people to kill each other faster.

Andrew kept walking deeper into the forest until he spotted a flash of rotten green. The goblin horde noticed him as well and immediately attacked.

The goblin was a low-level creature, but it was still more powerful and intelligent compared to the ones he had faced up until now. Andrew shot at the goblins, taking a few of them down. But the goblins noticed that he needed some time to reload the gun, and they all jumped at him at once.

"Tsk, this won't do."

Andrew immediately put the gun back in his inventory before he took out his short sword. His buff was about to run out, and soon all his stats would drop by 5. He had just enough mana to cast the buff once more before he needed time to recover.

Thankfully, he had built up enough stamina and muscles in a week to not feel completely exhausted by simple exercise. His increased stats also helped.

The goblins were not able to keep up with his speed and quickly fell down as he slashed through them.

[Congratulations. You have leveled up.]

He was finally level 8 now, so he only needed to reach two more levels before he could choose a profession. He continued to go after more and more goblin hordes with a simple purpose – to draw out their leader.

[No of goblins killed: 89]

His sword cleaved the heads of a few more goblins.

[No of goblins killed: 105]

[No of goblins killed: 167]

His kill numbers kept increasing, and Andrew soon felt his strength leaving his limbs. The goblins noticed this and immediately tried to take advantage of it.

'Tsk, I need to recast my skills immediately.'

Andrew immediately jumped back to gain some distance from the goblins before he used his mana to boost once more.

[Mana buff has been applied. Your stats have been boosted now.]

The goblins noticed too late that he had regained his power, and they fell to his sword. Andrew quickly pushed himself once more to kill more goblins.

He needed to not only trigger but defeat the goblin leader before his current buffs expired.

[No of goblins killed: 500]

[Congratulations: You are the first one to kill 500 goblins in this game. A new title will be granted to you.]

[Title: Killer of Goblins. Power against Goblins and Goblin-adjustment species increased by +200%]

[Conditions to summon the Goblin leader have been met.]

The goblins immediately took a step back as soon as they noticed the change in Andrew's aura. Due to his new title, he had suddenly become an enemy for them they could no longer ignore.

"What's wrong? Are you no longer going to attack me?"

Andrew taunted, and a few goblins hissed before they started to run back. He followed them, only to notice a huge mace coming his way.

He immediately took a step back, causing the mace to miss him by a few inches and break the ground after the impact.

The huge body attached to that mace stepped forward seconds later and let out a loud roar. Yellow, pupilless eyes looked at him in anger.

The new goblin was five times the size of regular goblins and looked intimidating as well. It immediately swung its mace around, trying to catch Andrew off-guard. But Andrew kept his distance from it and jumped out of its way.

'The mace is really powerful. I don't think I can take the goblin leader on in a one-on-one fight. I will need to get close and strike a critical area if I want to kill it.'

However, that was easier said than done. The other smaller goblins had started to gather around their leader to try and block his way.

But Andrew had one advantage over them all – his speed. He could dash past these goblins, and they were not able to keep up. And the goblins also had limited intelligence, causing them to not be able to keep up with his mind games.

So he formed a plan. At first, he led the horde of goblins as well as their leader toward the riverside, and just as they attacked him, he changed directions to run past them and back toward where he came from.

Only the leader was able to keep up with his speed, causing him to finally be separated from the horde.

Andrew took advantage of the gap in the goblin's defenses and rushed toward the goblin leader. The leader immediately swung its mace, but Andrew was ready and ducked under the huge weapon.

The goblin was twice his size, and Andrew used his short sword to hit the goblin leader near the neck, and the sword sank a little inside before it got stuck. The muscles of the goblin leader were too hard to pierce through with his current strength and weapons.

Andrew used the short sword as a way to pull himself up before using it as a platform to jump high.

"Grrrr!"

The goblin cried out in pain, his mouth open, and Andrew used the opportunity to take out his gun and fire a shot at close range.

Unlike the body, the muscles inside the goblin's mouth were soft and weak to the gunshot wound. It immobilized him long enough for Andrew to pull his short sword out and attack the goblin's head, ending its life.

[You have killed a goblin leader. You have leveled up.]

He had finally hit level 9. Now, only one more level was left before he would be able to choose his profession.

The goblins around him tried to run away from him, but Andrew made quick work of them. He finally hit level 10 minutes before the system announced the end of round 2. He quickly made his way back to the finish line, right in time to see the world beyond the finish line fade to white.
