Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Buying Gear! Challenge the Wild Boss!

"Hello, welcome to Starlight Store. What would you like to buy?"

A beautiful woman in black stockings and a tank top walked up to Aiden, wearing high heels. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and she smiled politely.

"Sir, my name is Lunara. Are you here to buy some gear?"

Aiden nodded and said, "Get me a set of armor and a wand."

To try out the two remaining skills of Magic Apprentice, Aiden needed at least a wand.

And armor would give him extra defense.

Otherwise, with his current level 1 stats, going into the wild would be a death sentence.

Lunara's eyes lit up. She thought for a moment and said,

"Armor? Well, we just got some nice armor in the store. Take a look, sir-Gold Rank armor! This armor was taken from a high-level dragon realm!"

Lunara pointed to a very delicate set of armor.

Aiden's face immediately brightened.

Hmm.

This armor was really good!

Not only was it well-made, but it also shimmered with colorful elemental light.

But...

Aiden shook his head, and a bitter smile came to his lips. "No need for something that expensive. I just need an Iron Rank armor and a black iron wand."

Aiden had no family in this world. He was alone. His only source of income was working part-time after school.

Plus, his ex-girlfriend Elyra was a vampire. Aiden's savings were barely 70,000 at most.

His eyes looked a little sad at the glowing, colorful dragon armor. Then he looked back at Lunara and said, "Find me a set of armor that fits the requirements."

"Okay." Lunara thought for a moment, nodded, and kept her polite smile. She didn't show any disgust for Aiden's cheap choice.

To be honest, Starlight Store's service was really good.

At least the staff didn't look down on customers.

"Okay! Sir, please wait a moment. How about these?"

Lunara quickly checked the counter and picked out a set of armor that glowed with a pale blue light, and a wand with a gem embedded in it.

Visually, these two pieces were definitely not as good as the dragon armor. They looked rough.

But.

Aiden only glanced at the stats of the gear, and his eyes twitched slightly.

[Sturdy Armor: Iron Rank, Constitution +10, Health +100]

[Sturdy Wand: Iron Rank, Spirit +10, Damage Boost +2%]

These two pieces must have been made by the same blacksmith. Their stats were even better than Aiden expected.

Both had two stat effects.

Usually, Iron Rank gear only had one.

These two were top-tier in Iron Rank.

Especially the wand, which gave an extra 2% damage boost.

That was strong!

"How much?" Aiden asked.

Lunara smiled. "It's 70,000 in total."

Aiden: "..."

He didn't know whether to feel lucky or unlucky.

Exactly used up his savings.

Aiden shook his head, a bitter smile on his lips. He stayed silent for a moment, then took a deep breath and asked, "Can you make it cheaper?"

Lunara stayed quiet. "Sir, the gear here at Starlight Store is guaranteed. Even if the armor breaks, you can exchange it for a new one within three months. You know, Iron Rank armor usually doesn't last long. If it breaks, it's basically worthless. The materials for Iron Rank gear aren't expensive, but we still offer after-sales service."

"Plus, if you buy it now, we'll also give you a high-level health potion and a high-level mana potion for free."

Lunara's expression was very sincere and honest.

Aiden blinked for a second.

In this era of full dataization, games and real life had completely merged. It wasn't just about bosses and NPCs. Even gear had durability, just like in games.

If you took a really big hit, your gear could break.

Once broken.

You could either use it as a material to make other gear, or you had to repair it.

But once Iron Rank gear broke, the materials themselves were worth almost nothing. That meant thousands of dollars lost.

After hearing Lunara's words, Aiden stayed silent for a moment, then finally took a deep breath and said, "Charge it."

Lunara's face lit up, and she quickly smiled, eyes squinting. "Got it!"

It didn't take long to finish the payment. Aiden put on the gear, and Lunara came up with a membership card and handed it to him with a smile. "Mr. Lin, this is our membership card. Every time you buy gear or consumables here, you can get 10% off."

"This is the warranty card."

Aiden nodded, took the membership card and put it in his pocket, and said coldly, "Okay."

Then, Aiden left Starlight Store. His face had a slight look of helplessness and bitterness. He sighed to himself, "I just used up all my savings. I hope my lucky charm doesn't let me down."

At this point, Aiden had bet everything on this.

If his lucky charm didn't bring enough power, then Aiden would fall into the abyss.

Not only had he spent his last bit of savings, but his future was also dark and unclear.

After Aiden left, Lunara slightly raised her eyebrows, watching his back for a moment before she was lost in thought. "Such a handsome guy, and yet so poor. Too bad. If I were rich, I would have wanted to take him in."

After leaving the store, Aiden took the high-speed train to the area outside the base. As he stepped out of the station, he saw a huge crowd of Reclassers gathered together.

Most of them were experienced bounty hunters. He didn't see anyone as new as him, a high school senior who had just changed his class.

Normally, a 1-star beginner who just awakened his class shouldn't even be here, in this dangerous wild area.

But.

Aiden had no other choice.

Either go all-in,

or die.

As for serving the elite after failing the College Testing and becoming a common worker, Aiden couldn't even imagine doing that.

"Anyone looking for a group? A healer, anyone?!"

"Taking down the Earth Dragon Boss! Only Second Class or above!"

"New skill books! Anyone want to buy?"

"Buying materials! Goblin scraps, anyone? We pay way above market price!"

Reclassers outside the train station were yelling loudly. Some were looking for teammates, others were trying to sell or buy materials.

Of course, just like the Adventurer Street, there were also plenty of greedy merchants here.

They bought low and sold high, and the gear and materials they sold were all junk. Aiden only took a quick glance and walked away.

Most of them were scammers. Not worth looking at.

Real valuable stuff wouldn't be sold at a discount here.

"Wha the Fuck? That's so cool?"

"1st level? Wow!"

Suddenly, a sweet female voice rang out. Aiden turned around. It was a cute little girl in a school uniform, very pretty, with a nice body and a perfect figure.

But Aiden wasn't interested. He only glanced at her and immediately turned his attention back to the path ahead.

He was focused on figuring out the effects of the 10x Critical Strike.

"Hey, wait up, bro."

The girl stepped in front of him and blocked his way. She blinked with big, wide eyes, looking surprised.

"Hi, I'm Selena. Why are you alone out here? You're a high school senior, right? Did you just get your class today? The wild isn't like school. The monsters out here are way scarier than the principal. You're only 1st level-don't die the moment you step out of the station."

Selena took a breath and continued, "You look so handsome. It'd be a shame if you died. Come with me. I'll team up with you and help you level up."

Aiden said nothing. He looked at Selena.

Something about her felt... familiar.

Wait...

Suddenly, Aiden remembered who this incredibly beautiful girl was.

Wasn't this the genius girl from The White City?

From Seventh High School.

She had completed her class change not long ago.

She was an Epic-class player.

And her background was insane-she was the daughter of the head of the Warrior God Guild, the top guild in The White City!

The guild's leader was Selena's father.
