Chapter 28 - 28 Leading the Hidden Mist, Killing My Way Back to Konoha

After some discussion, Obito finally adopted Mingyue's plan.

When the Kaguya clan launched their attack, "Ming" would be dispatched as the frontline commander-in-chief, leading an elite force headed by the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and the ANBU to meet the enemy.

Obito would control Yagura Karatachi to sit at the rear, creating the illusion that all personnel had gone to the front lines, leaving only the Mizukage alone to guard the rear.

Once Genshi launched his coup, they could use the legitimate reason of "treason" to wipe out that group of old fogies in one fell swoop.

After deciding on the steps of the plan, the next thing to do was dig the pit and wait for Genshi and his group to jump in.

"If the Seven Ninja Swordsmen and the ANBU are all going to the front lines, who will be the ambush force?"

Mingyue turned and asked.

Obito, or rather Yagura Karatachi's main subordinates in Kirigakure, were the Seven Ninja Swordsmen and the ANBU.

Most of the other ordinary combat forces were under Genshi's command.

Obito said coldly, "I will arrange that myself. You don't need to worry about it. You just need to wait for the Kaguya to attack and then go to the front lines to fight."

"Alright, alright, I know. No need to be so exclusive. Isn't our relationship pretty good?"

Mingyue responded with a smile before turning and leaving the Mizukage's office.

As a transmigrator, he naturally knew who the ambush force Obito planned to arrange was, but he was just pretending to be confused while understanding perfectly.

Mingyue wasn't participating in the operation to kill Genshi, partly to avoid dirtying his own hands, but there was another reason.

That was to use this opportunity to get his hands on Kimimaro Kaguya!

Kimimaro of the Kaguya clan, and Haku of the Yuki clan.

These two young people who showed immense potential in the early stages of the original story both came from Kirigakure.

That was why Mingyue believed this period was actually Kirigakure's strongest phase since its founding.

It was just that because of Obito's disastrous influence, Kirigakure lost so many talented people.

Konoha, on the other hand, was in its weakest period since its founding.

How could Mingyue let so many good prospects slip through his fingers?

"Ming! Fight me!"

Not long after walking out of the Mizukage Administration Building, a familiar voice rang out from the left.

Turning his head, he saw that bear of a child, Mangetsu Hozuki, again.

Ever since he was soundly beaten last time, this kid seemed to have awakened some masochistic tendencies and kept looking for a beating.

"This kid... should also be of use to me, right?"

Mingyue looked at Mangetsu Hozuki, who was charging at him with Hiramekarei on his shoulder. With a sweep of his leg, he sent the kid flying, thinking to himself.

"Hehe, Mangetsu, kid, are you challenging Ming again? You're completely treating yourself as a sandbag, aren't you?"

Kisame, who happened to be passing by, mocked with a sneer.

Ever since they drank together last time, Kisame would proactively greet Mingyue whenever they met.

Mingyue concluded that this guy definitely had no friends in the village.

Kimimaro Kaguya, Haku, Mangetsu Hozuki...

There was also Terumi Mei, Kisame Hoshigaki...

If he could gather all these strong individuals under his command.

When he killed his way back to Konoha in the future, it would surely be quite interesting, wouldn't it?

...

...

In the mansion of Kirigakure's highest elder, Genshi.

The patriarch of the Kaguya clan had agreed to an alliance with him and planned to seize power from Yagura.

Genshi also summoned his two trusted subordinates, Heki and Gonbee, to discuss the joint coup.

Gonbee, who had secretly served as an envoy for the past six months, negotiating with the Kaguya clan on Genshi's behalf, said passionately:

"Lord Genshi, the Kaguya clan has agreed to join forces with us. In this way, as long as we coordinate from the inside and outside, we can definitely defeat that cruel fellow Yagura, and also kill that Ming to avenge Ao."

However, facing the battle-eager Gonbee, Genshi shook his head and sighed:

"You're too young, Gonbee."

Gonbee was stunned, not understanding what Genshi meant.

Was something wrong?

"To us, the Kaguya are not allies, but tools, objects to be used."

Saying this, Genshi spoke words identical to Black Zetsu's analysis:

"If they can inflict heavy damage on Yagura's people, then I will formally make my move. But if they fail to shake Yagura's foundation, then they have no value to be used."

Although the Kaguya clan was fierce in battle, due to their innate Kekkei Byo, there were very few clan members.

Even at full strength, there were no more than two hundred combat members.

To gain an advantage against Yagura Karatachi's Seven Ninja Swordsmen and ANBU, plus that "Ming" whose strength might reach quasi-Kage level.

That would not be an easy task.

Just as Mingyue, Black Zetsu, and others had predicted.

Genshi had no intention of truly acting together with the Kaguya.

He was just waiting for the snipe and the clam to fight so the fisherman could profit.

If the Kaguya's attack failed to damage Yagura's foundation, he would absolutely not act.

As a living fossil who had lived longer than Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo, he was just like them.

His strength wasn't much, but when it came to political intrigue, he was definitely a top-tier expert.

But little did he know.

Mingyue had already dug a pit waiting for him to jump in.
