Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Desperate Shelby Family

Further enhancement will upgrade it to a Tier 1 item, and its strength will increase by a level. However, this advancement requires a large amount of experience points.

He thought the 300 experience points he had in the system would be enough, but the system gave him a prompt that he needed 1,000 experience points to upgrade the Shadow Mask to Tier 1.

Now he only has about 300 experience points left, which is not enough to strengthen him.

He couldn't continue to strengthen the Shadow Mask, so he temporarily saved the experience points.

In Vega's view, the Shadow Warriors were more than enough to deal with the minions of these combat groups.

Now that the Shelby family's combat team members have been almost wiped out, continuing to hunt them in Naklo City will not be very effective.

The now powerful Vega is preparing to completely annihilate the Shelby family.

Even though the Shelby family hired a Nen user, Vega still had over 300 experience points, more than enough for him to enhance a powerful item to deal with the situation.

Given Vega's cautious nature, he wouldn't rush to the Shelby family to fight immediately. Instead, he would send shadow warriors in to infiltrate and hunt them down first, as a way to test the Shelby family's strength.

With this in mind, Vega had already made a plan. If the Shelby family didn't have enough military strength, he would simply send out all the Shadow Warriors.

If the Shelby family is more powerful than he imagined, then he will have other plans.

With that in mind, Vega drove a car toward the Shelby family villa.

At this time.

Inside the Shelby family's villa.

Thump, thump, thump.

Exquisite works of art were thrown to the ground. Tom's eyes were bloodshot, and his face was contorted with rage as he stared at his men in the room.

He was now furious and embarrassed. His previous rosy mood of about to rule Naklo City had long since been shattered and turned into nothingness.

He wished he could shoot all of these dozen or so good-for-nothings in front of him.

Because from 8 or 9 pm tonight until now in the early hours of the morning, bad news has been coming one after another.

This made Tom unable to contain his anger any longer.

"You bunch of useless trash, what good are you besides bowing your heads and admitting your mistakes?"

"Even a toilet is usable, but you are not even as good as a toilet."

"A few hours ago, my Shelby family completely wiped out the Vongola family and is about to unify the entire city. At the same time, we have also made connections with the Ten Elders. My Shelby family is about to take off."

Tom's neck veins bulged, his hands waving wildly, and the next moment he glared at the people in front of him and roared, "But what about now? My brother Griffin is dead, then the base in the city was attacked, and the task force searching for the remaining Vongola family members outside is constantly being ambushed."

"Hundreds of men are dead. My elite action team is gone just like that." Tom became angrier and angrier. He smashed the butt of his rifle into the face of one of his men who was looking down, causing him to bleed profusely and fall unconscious to the ground.

"As a result, you bunch of good-for-nothings still don't know who ambushed my men and where."

Tom was now like a gambler who had lost all his wealth and was blinded by greed, and he had fallen into a desperate situation.

With his family's men almost wiped out, what could he possibly use to rule Naklo City? What value did he have in the eyes of the Ten Elders? The Shelby family's prosperity had been destroyed in an instant, and the entire family might even be wiped out. How could such a disparity not enrage Tom to the point of wanting to kill?

"You'll just say it's Vega Vongola's men." Tom grabbed his top henchman John by the collar like a bloodthirsty beast and roared, "You fucking tell me that we almost wiped out Vongola, that all their high-ranking members were killed, their middle-ranking members were almost all killed or wounded, and those who survived were barely clinging to life and hiding."

Their family's elite forces were all wiped out. Where did Vega Vongola get these men from?

John lowered his head, only daring to accept Tom's angry curses. His heart was filled with countless grievances, but seeing the patriarch who was so enraged that he was about to kill someone, he dared not make the slightest attempt to argue.

"Click".

Tom's revolver was cocked, the hammer knocked down, and the tyrannical man pressed the cold barrel against John's forehead.

The aura of death instantly terrified John, causing him to tremble uncontrollably. Knowing that Tom was truly about to kill, he immediately cried out, "Master, there's news! My men just sent some intelligence over."

"Oh!" Tom's eyes were filled with murderous intent. His finger was on the trigger, and he shouted sharply, "Then tell me what the news is, and let me know if you, this piece of trash, are still of any use."

John, fearing the family would pull the trigger, quickly said, "Someone survived. He said Vega was leading a group of warriors dressed in black who were constantly attacking the family's men."

These black-clad warriors are not only powerful.

Moreover, it seems that they are impossible to kill completely; after being killed, they will turn into fragments and disappear.

So they are no match at all.

Are you kidding me? Tom was furious as he watched John spouting nonsense. How could John try to fool him with such rubbish?

What kind of person will turn into fragments after being killed?

Can you transform one for me first?

In Tom's eyes, John was already lying to save his life, and in a fit of rage, he immediately pulled the trigger.

Bang.

John crouched on the ground in terror, frantically groping his body to see where he had been shot, only to find nothing amiss.

Only then did I notice the revolver lying on the ground.

Just moments ago, a figure suddenly appeared in the room, casually tossing an object that accurately struck Tom's arm from a distance of over ten meters, knocking the gun out of his hand and saving John.

The bullets fired from the deflected revolver only shattered a statue.

"Kid, repeat what you just said in detail." A man in his thirties with a goatee and a somewhat thin build didn't even glance at Tom, but instead stared intently at John and asked.

"Yes, sir, I'll tell you right away." John looked at the goatee-bearded man who had just rescued him and realized that he was the bodyguard who had been following behind Lord Daniel.

Lord Daniel is a big shot that even the head of the family, Tom, can't afford to offend!

Knowing that his chance of survival lay with Lord Daniel, he immediately nodded in agreement, quickly walked to the man with the goatee, and whispered something to him.
