By the time lunchtime rolled around, everyone was buzzing with curiosity. Keifer had
been suspiciously quiet all morning — which, for him, was almost a public emergency.
Today Ella ,Aries, Freya and mica joined
Felix pointed at him with a fry. "Okay, spill it. What's the big announcement?"
Cin leaned over dramatically. "Yeah, Keifer, are you switching your shampoo brand
again?"
Laughter spread around the table.
Keifer, unfazed as always, just smirked. "Nope. Something way more important."
I raised an eyebrow. "You're not…"
"Oh, I am," he said quietly, just loud enough for me to hear.
Before I could stop him, he stood on the bench — literally stood up in the middle of the
cafeteria.
"Attention, everyone!" he announced, waving like a politician. Conversations instantly
died down. Even the sound of trays clattering slowed.
"First," he began, grinning ear to ear, "I wanna officially welcome our new classmates,
Celia and Drake!"
The room filled with polite applause and whistles. Celia, never one to be shy, stood up
and waved like she'd been crowned class president. Drake just gave a small nod,
looking slightly amused.
"And second…" Keifer's gaze found me across the table. "I have something important
to say."
"Oh no," I muttered under my breath.
whispered, "He's gonna do it."
"Do what?" Felix asked, already filming with his phone.
Keifer took a deep breath — dramatically, of course. "Jay Jay and I are officially
together!"
The cafeteria exploded. Cheers erupted. Some screamed. Others gasped like they
hadn't seen it coming despite the morning's very public car kiss.
"WHAT?!" Aries practically choked on his juice box.
"Aww, finally!" Ella squealed from two tables away.
"Love birds! Love birds!" Cin chanted, banging his tray for rhythm.
I covered my face with my hands. "You're unbelievable," I groaned, laughing anyway.
Keifer hopped down and leaned close enough to whisper, "Now everyone knows. No
backing out, Jay Jay."
Celia, with her knowing grin, leaned forward. "You two are adorable. Seriously. I've
been here one day and I already ship it."
Drake just gave a small smile. "It was pretty obvious."
The rest of lunch was chaos — the kind where everyone teased, joked, and
congratulated us while Keifer soaked in the attention like a cat basking in sunlight.
When we finally got a quiet moment later, I poked his arm. "You know, you could've
just told them quietly."
He smirked. "Where's the fun in that? I had two announcements to make — one for
school, and one for my heart."
I rolled my eyes but couldn't suppress my smile. "Cheesy."
"Admit it—you liked it."
"...Maybe."
And as the bell rang, Keifer leaned close and said, "Worth it."
