Chapter 10 - A Place to Stay

Not wanting to end up sleeping outdoors, Hayoon softened her voice and asked, "Is that alright, Minho? We won't stay for free, we'll give you supplies. Or if you want some other kind of compensation, as long as we have it, we'll provide it."

Haeun also pleaded pitifully, "Brother Minho, I can help you with chores. My sister's still injured, please let us stay for a while."

For a moment, everyone's eyes fell on Minho.

The tall and cold man with sharp striking features remained expressionless.

His red vertical pupils, silver white eyelashes and eyebrows gave him an intense almost inhuman aura.

He looked at Hayoon and said lightly, "Before your injuries heal, I wouldn't let you leave anyway. As for supplies, wait until you're able to gather again."

Hayoon secretly breathed a sigh of relief and said sincerely, "Thank you, Minho."

Even though Minho didn't immediately demand any supplies, she knew he wouldn't truly be unconcerned.

But since she wouldn't be able to gather for a while, how was she supposed to repay this favor?

Before she could figure out an answer, Haeun jumped up excitedly, his pair of thick and fluffy bear ears bouncing as he moved.

"Thank you, Brother Minho!" He then turned to Hayoon and cheered, "Sis, we have a place to live! This is great!"

The way his round and fluffy bear ears wiggled made Hayoon's fingers itch to touch them.

With housing settled, Beom said to Minho, "Since tomorrow it won't rain during the day, the tribe is planning to repair everyone's caves together. Come early tomorrow."

Minho replied, "Alright. Where do we start?"

Beom said, "It's Hyun family on the far east side."

Minho nodded. "Mm."

While they were speaking, the rain outside started to fall again in thin, whispering sheets, carrying the earthy smell of wet soil.

On the stone stove, firelight flickered faintly beneath the slab-covered surface.

Beom frowned. "This rain is really getting on my nerves. You're the last one I needed to notify, so I'm heading back. See you tomorrow."

Minho nodded.

Without waiting for anyone to escort him, Beom strode several steps outside, and then transformed into a massive grizzly bear!

Even without standing fully upright, he was already five to six meters tall.

His huge body was like a small moving mountain.

His gray and bristly fur glistened with a healthy sheen; the rain striking his coat slid off instantly without soaking in.

With a low roar, the sturdy grizzly bear lifted his thick powerful paws and ran toward the distance.

Hayoon felt the ground shake beneath her feet and before long, only a small gray dot remained in her line of sight.

That weight was terrifying… and he ran fast too.

No wonder beastmen could dominate this world.

As a native Minho and Haeun were used to this sight.

Haeun even ran over to smooth out the enormous pawprint the grizzly bear had left behind.

Minho stood up and walked toward the inside of the cave.

"Wait." Hayoon stood as well and called out to him.
