Chapter 90 - The First Thread

Logically speaking, this kind of work should have felt tedious and prone to mistakes.

But Hayoon's movements were so smooth and decisive that, in the eyes of everyone watching, it became strangely enjoyable.

As the sun began to set in the west, Hayoon's skillful hands assembled one part after another around her.

Axle, wheels, frame, crank handle.

A simple spinning machine was gradually completed.

Everyone's expressions changed from curiosity and confusion at the beginning to complete shock.

"Oh Beast God, this is incredible..." Ahri stared wide-eyed, examining the spinning machine from top to bottom. "If I had not been watching the entire time, I would never believe a pile of wood could become a tool like this."

Chorong also nodded repeatedly, his eyes bright as he asked Hayoon, "Is it done? Can it be used to spin thread now?"

Hayoon said, "I am not sure. We need to test it..."

Before she could finish, she froze.

Since when had so many people gathered behind her?

It was a dense crowd, stretching far back.

Was half the tribe here?

They had been watching her the whole time?

That was a little embarrassing.

Only now did she notice the different scents around her.

Fortunately, after living in this beast world for so long, her senses were no longer easily overwhelmed.

Hayoon paused for two seconds, then suppressed her discomfort and found her voice again.

"Ahem, can someone bring me a bundle of processed hemp..."

Before she even finished speaking, a large bundle of washed and dried hemp was already handed to her.

Just by looking at the pale, familiar hand, she knew it was Minho.

She was far too familiar with him.

She looked up, smiled softly at him, and took the hemp, placing it in front of the spinning machine.

After wrapping the thread end, she tried turning the crank while coordinating it with her foot movement, attempting to get the spinning machine working.

creak, creak.

The axle rotated, producing a harsh, grating sound.

"It is moving! The hemp is wrapping around the wheel!" Ahri clapped excitedly.

However, someone frowned and questioned, "But the thread made like this cannot be used."

Chorong and the others also noticed it.

The thread was too thick and messy.

It might work for making rope, but it definitely did not meet the requirements for weaving cloth.

But his first reaction was not to pressure Hayoon with questions.

Instead, he shot a warning glance at his own tribesmen.

"Why are you rushing? It is not finished yet."

Ahri also defended her. "Exactly. Just watch properly and do not disturb Hayoon."

The werebeast who had spoken awkwardly shut his mouth.

Hayoon was amused by their nervous reactions. Her eyes curved as she said, "Let me think about how to improve it. Minho."

"Mm." The man responded.

"Do you have any nut oil?"

"Yes." Minho took out a small jar of oil pressed from nuts from his storage space.

Nuts were hard to gather, and extracting oil was even more difficult, so people rarely bothered doing it.

Only Minho kept some on hand because he sometimes used it when treating patients.

Hayoon smiled as she took it. "Thanks."

She first dripped some oil onto the axle.

With lubrication, the noise became less harsh, and the rotation also became easier.

After that, she kept thinking, adjusting, and testing, gradually improving the spinning machine in her hands.

The sky grew darker.

She faced the direction of the setting sun, while everyone else stood behind her without blocking the light.

People came and went behind her, but none of it disturbed Hayoon, who was completely absorbed in her work.

Finally, about two hours later, she turned the handle again.

The messy hemp was pulled along the spinning machine wheel, twisting round and round until it became fine thread.

She pulled out a length and examined it carefully to confirm there were no problems.

At that moment, an overwhelming sense of accomplishment surged through her.

The indescribably wonderful feeling made her heart tremble, and her eyes even turned slightly red.

She turned back, facing the expectant gazes of everyone, and said in a slightly hoarse voice,

"It is done!"

For a brief moment, there was silence. Then everyone erupted into cheers.

"Great!!!"

"It worked! We succeeded!"

"Hayoon, you are amazing! You are our greatest contributor!"

"Thank you, Beast God, for your blessing!"

Hayoon's eyes were slightly red as she laughed with everyone and tried to stand up.

But she had been sitting for too long and had forgotten, so her legs did not have enough strength at first and she almost fell forward.

Everyone was startled and rushed to catch her.

Minho, who was the closest to her, naturally grabbed her arm. His strong hand wrapped around her waist and stopped her from falling.

After steadying her, he did not immediately let go. Instead, he let her lean on his strength and slowly regain her balance.

Hayoon thanked him, then happily raised her hand and cheered with everyone.

She even tugged at Minho's sleeve, looked into his eyes, and shouted, "Minho, we did it! We have a spinning machine now! It can spin so much thread!"

As she said this, she herself felt like crying a little.

From modern life to this primitive beast world, the gap in living conditions was so huge it felt like heaven and earth had been flipped.

Things that were once easily obtainable now required ten times or even a hundred times more effort.

But it was precisely this hard work that made every result feel precious beyond measure.

Even the smallest improvement was enough to make her cheer with joy.

The satisfaction gained through her own hands was something nothing else could replace.

Her heart was not only filled with firmness in the present, but also with endless hope for the future.

And she was deeply grateful for everyone who stayed by her side, especially Minho, who shared this joy with her.

Minho was not someone who showed his emotions openly.
