“The Cake Incident”

The cake should not have existed.

That was the first problem.

The second problem was that it was placed directly between Hades and Delta.

It was small. Chocolate. Decorated with a single innocent-looking strawberry.

They both stared at it.

"That's mine," Delta said.

Hades didn't even look at him. "It is quite literally my realm."

"I was looking at it first."

Hades scoffed. "You've been looking at everything first for centuries."

Rei stood off to the side, calm as ever, hands folded, tail swaying gently as if none of this concerned her.

The silence stretched.

Hell held its breath.

Hades reached for the cake.

Delta slammed his hand on the table. The table cracked.

"Try it," Delta said flatly.

Hades smiled. Flames flickered in his eyes. "This is over dessert?"

"This is about respect," Delta shot back.

"No," Hades said, leaning forward. "This is about chocolate."

Narrator:

Tension spiked instantly.

Delta snapped his head up. "Don't narrate the obvious."

Rei sighed quietly.

Hades summoned fire.

Delta summoned something worse.

The cake trembled.

"You always do this," Hades growled.

"You always escalate," Delta replied.

They launched at each other.

Flames clashed. Reality bent slightly. Several demons fainted. Someone yelled, "NOT AGAIN."

While gods and legends argued midair, Rei slowly walked forward.

She picked up a fork.

The fighting intensified.

"You THINK you can just TAKE it?" Hades roared.

"You THINK I WON'T END YOU?" Delta roared back.

Rei examined the cake thoughtfully.

Chocolate sponge. Perfect frosting. Light yet rich.

She took a bite.

Then another.

By the time Hades slammed Delta into a pillar and Delta retaliated by cracking the ceiling, the cake was gone.

Rei dabbed her lips politely with a napkin.

Silence fell.

Hades froze.

Delta froze.

They both slowly looked at the empty plate.

Then at Rei.

Rei met their gaze calmly.

"…You were busy."

Delta stared in disbelief. "You… ate it."

"Yes."

Hades whispered, horrified, "All of it?"

Rei nodded. "It was good."

Delta dropped to one knee dramatically. "I FOUGHT A GOD FOR NOTHING."

Hades clenched his fist. "SHE ATE THE STRAWBERRY TOO."

Rei tilted her head. "You hesitated."

The plate cracked in half.

Hell recorded the event as a tragedy.

Delta sulked for three hours.

Hades banned cakes.

Rei remained unapologetic.

Narrator:

She would do it again.

"Don't," Delta muttered.
