Chapter 7 - "Marry her."

Mullai picked up her handbag and came out of the room, ready to leave for the office. When she looked back, Theeran was engrossed in something on his laptop, looking older than his age. "Theera, take care of Vaishnavi. I'll be back after going to the office," Mullai said.

He stopped typing for a moment, looked at his mother, and asked, "Mom, are you going alone?" She replied, "No, Prakash sir will come; I'll go with him."

A moment of thought crossed Theeran's face. Then, like a grown-up, he said, "Okay, Mom, go carefully. If anything happens, call me. I'll come." She looked at her son with surprise and joy, saying, "Okay, I'll call you," kissed him on the cheek, and left for the office.

As soon as Mullai left, Theeran took out the mobile phone he was holding and called someone. "My mother has left. Send three Black Shadow agents for her protection," he ordered someone before hanging up the phone.

Prakash, who was waiting for her in the car outside, started driving as soon as she got in. After a short while, the car stopped in front of a large building. Mullai got out and looked up at the building. It was so huge; it seemed to touch the sky.

"Bhadran Group of Companies" was written in large letters at the entrance of the building. As Mullai stared at it with her mouth agape, Prakash, who had parked the car, came to her side after seeing her standing there. "Mullai, what's the meaning of standing outside like this? Shouldn't we go inside?" Prakash asked playfully. Coming back to her senses, she replied, "No sir, I was waiting for you." He smiled faintly and said, "I believe you, Mullai. Now come, let's go inside," and led her in.

Inside, everyone was working like robots, bustling around. The reason was Bhadran's presence in the office. He disliked people who were idle and not working. If he caught anyone doing so, he would fire them the very next minute.

All he expected was that they should work honestly for the salary they received. He led Mullai straight to the conference hall and said, "Mullai, you stay here. I'll bring the employees who came with us from abroad," and left.

Since it was a new place and she didn't know anyone, Mullai quietly sat down in a chair. Her heart was beating excessively. Ever since she entered this company, her heart had been fluttering. She sat there, bewildered, not knowing why.

Here, in his room, Bhadran's heart was also beating similarly. Hari's voice interrupted him as he was thinking, stroking his chest. He turned to look.

Hari handed him the document that Bhadran had asked him to correct a little while ago, and then hesitated before saying, "Master, we've found out who caused the mess. It's none other than Loganathan. He's the one who took money from our rival company and did this." Anger surged in Bhadran's face.

"Lock him up in our place immediately," he said, his eyes blazing with murderous intent. He would even forgive an enemy, but a traitor... there was no place for that word.

As soon as Prakash brought his men, he informed Hari. Seeing this, Hari told Bhadran, "Hmm... we can go," and headed towards the conference room. He had barely taken a step inside after opening the door.

Just then, an emergency call came to his phone, and he answered it, turning around to speak. Inside, Mullai, who was talking to someone nearby, turned around at the sound of the door opening, but only saw Bhadran's back.

"Who is this?" Mullai wondered, staring intently at Bhadran, but before she could get a good look, Bhadran had quickly left. Mullai's face fell slightly. "Damn! I couldn't see who it was! Could he be the CEO of this company?" she muttered to herself.

Meanwhile, Bhadran drove his car at lightning speed and stopped in front of a large mansion. It had been many years since he had been there. He didn't want to come there at all. Nevertheless, compelled to be there, he got out of the car and went inside.

He went straight to the top floor of the house and opened a room. Inside, an old man was lying down, surrounded by all the people of the house. Seeing him arrive, a woman in her 50s rushed towards him, but Bhadran turned and gave her an intense look. She stopped in her tracks.

He pushed everyone away with his gaze and went to his grandfather's side, who was lying on the bed. Although his hair was all gray and his skin wrinkled, he still looked majestic. He tried to get up upon seeing him, but unable to do so, he remained lying down.

He was lying down. "What, grandson, have you finally come to see this old man?" he asked, his voice filled with deep longing. Bhadran remained silent, not saying anything. Realizing that he wouldn't speak, the old man looked at his P.A., Somu, who was standing beside him.

Immediately, Somu went to the grandfather's secret room and brought out a box. Everyone in the room looked on eagerly, wondering what it could be. Taking the box, the grandfather looked at Bhadran and began to speak.

"Grandson, you know that this old man has cancer. It's getting worse day by day. I don't know when I'll die. But before that, my duty... no, no, I can't say that. Let's say it's your mother's last wish. I think you know what she said before she died," he said, then turned and called out, "Janvi."

The girl who was in Bhadran's house came forward. As she came to his side, calling him "Grandpa," he held her hand and turned to Bhadran. "Bhadra, your mother wanted you to marry her. We don't know where she was all this time, or how she grew up, but somehow she has come to us. From now on, she is your responsibility," he said.

He opened the box that Somu had given him. Inside was a thali (wedding necklace). A solid gold thali. Bhadran's mother's thali. It was also the traditional thali of that family. He took it in his hand and gave it to Bhadran. The one who had been standing there, seemingly oblivious to everything, as if it concerned someone else, quickly took the thali as soon as he saw it.

The grandfather looked at Janvi and said, "Go and stand next to him, my dear." She almost jumped with joy and ran to stand beside him. Her face was full of happiness. She stood there, excited that what she had been waiting for was about to happen. The grandfather, in his majestic voice, said, "Bhadra, tie this sacred thread around Janvi's neck and accept her as your wife. That was the last thing your mother asked of me." After hearing this, Bhadra thought for a moment and then went to tie the thread around her neck.

........ .......... ........

At the same time, Mullai, who had just come out of the office, looked around to see if there was an auto-rickshaw going home. Since Prakash had work, he had sent her alone. She stood there, wiping the sweat from her forehead with a handkerchief.

Just then, a car passed by, and after going a short distance, it stopped. The man in the car, wearing a gray shirt and talking on the phone via Bluetooth, stopped the car, a mix of shock and happiness on his face, as soon as he saw her.

Opening the car window, he said, "Oh God, you are great. As soon as I prayed, you showed her to me! The one who had been playing hide-and-seek all these days is now standing right in front of me. Now my game begins!" The man's thoughts were completely wrong. He was Karthik, the one who had killed Mullai's grandmother at the airport five years ago.

Seeing an auto-rickshaw approaching in the distance, she waved it down, got in, and told the driver her address. He drove her to the place she mentioned. In 10 minutes, he dropped her off in front of her house and left.

Karthik, who had been following her all this time, watched her get out and enter a house before turning back. Mullai opened the door and went inside. There, her son Theeran was holding Vaishnavi's hand and teaching her to write.

When she went to them and called out, "Theera... Vaishu," they looked up, ran to her, and hugged her. Vaishnavi raised her hand, asking to be picked up, and she was lifted and held on her hip.

"My darling, what were you doing?" Mullai asked, touching her forehead to Vaishnavi's, and Vaishnavi replied in her childish voice, "Mom... Anna taught me how to write."

Smiling at this, Mullai went to pick up Theeran. But he said, "No, Mom. You must be tired," and then, looking at the clock, asked, "Mom... why did you come back so early? It's only 4 o'clock."

She replied, "The meeting got canceled," to which Theeran asked, "Why, Mom?"

She told him the truth, "The boss of that company had an urgent matter and left." At that moment, a slight confusion appeared on his face.

He further asked, "What's the name of that company, Mom?" and she answered all his questions, saying, "Ah... Bhadran Group of Companies."

Just then, the grandmother came out of the kitchen with tea and said, "Hey, little man, have you finished asking all your questions? She's just arrived; you can ask all your doubts later," and handed the tea to Mullai.

Theeran didn't ask anything further. When the grandmother asked, "Mullai, what should I cook for dinner?", Grandpa Rathi quickly interjected, "Make rasam and bitter gourd stir-fry," and everyone agreed, so the grandmother prepared the same. Time passed, and at 8:30 PM, everyone sat down to eat.

Just as Grandpa was about to start eating, someone...

Someone knocked on the door. "Tch! Look, they won't even let me eat my bitter gourd in peace," he grumbled and went to open the door.

Karthik was standing there with a gun in his hand, and five henchmen stood behind him. Since the grandfather already knew who he was, he was shocked and tried to close the door. But before he could, Karthik pushed him aside and entered.
