Chapter 11 - THE MYSTERIOUS WOMAN

"Granny said we should make babies right? She asked, her voice low. "Besides, cockroaches are in my room, I am afraid to sleep alone."

He gently opened his eyes, the corner of his lips curved. "Then call the maid or butler to kill them." He replied, his hands resting on his thigh.

"Now leave my room."

She couldn't let the opportunity slip her hands, she quickly pulled the blanket up and as she lay on the bed facing her back at him, pretending to doze off.

Nathan was so tired he couldn't stress himself further. He left the bathroom to freshen up. After he was done he grabbed the blanket and pillow, went to the couch and lay down quickly shutting his eyes to sleep.

Ava woke up, her eyes scanned the room, but there was nobody there.

After freshening up, she headed downstairs, drawn by the aroma of the meal. Nathan leaning towards the dinner chair, wearing a natural nude color suit, holding a fork gently slicing the meat steak.

Ava took the seat across from Nathan. Silence filled the air, broken only by the sound of forks moving.

The maid felt the awkward tension between the couple and smiled, shaking her head.

After Nathan finished his meal, he was the first to break the silence, "If you want to sleep with me, just cancel your plans and leave my room before I return from work."

Ava sighed, gradually dropping her fork. " I am not going anywhere, either you let me stay in your precious room…" She dragged out the last part with a smile "Or let Granny know we are not giving her a baby soon." she mischievously smirked.

Nathan frowned, because he doesn't know what was going through this lady's head lately. "So much to get a dick inside you," he murmured.

"Suit yourself!" he suddenly said with a smile. He wants to see how far she would go just to have sex with him.

Ava was taken back by the smile and his sudden mood change, she couldn't help but feel goosebumps all over her skin. She knew Nathan's words were meant to provoke her, to test her boundaries.

But she didn't care, she would use all her power and get what she wanted.

Her gaze locked into Nathan, a silent challenge in her eyes, staring at him with her newfound determination.

"Maybe I do want to sleep with you," she whispered softly, a sly smile played on her lips as she watched his reaction.

Nathan's eyes widened slightly, surprised by her response.

"Nailed it," Ava thought, mentally patting herself on the back. Satisfied by his reaction, he's not ready for what's coming.

"Don't fall in love with him. Well if you do, I won't blame you. Just don't forget how hot he is." Her inner voice warned.

"I don't think love exists anymore," she murmured.

What's the point of dreaming of a love life when I'm already married for revenge?" She asked her inner voice.

"I will never love Nathan, he's not my type!" She repeated the words in her head, convincing herself.

Nathan left for work while Ava visited Granny. They went to a spa and an auction.

Granny likes attending auctions, buying whatever that looks unique, rare and ancient. It is one of her hobbies as an old woman who has enough money to spare.

Ava wondered how wealthy the old woman was, her buying and investing is worth billions. Ava calculated everything in her mind.

The building was crowded with people, one might mistake it for a museum, it was filled with art with unique meanings and ancient glass flower vases.

Everyone settled down. Then, the auctions started after an hour. The auction was moving slowly.

Ava yawned, she didn't understand what the rich people found so fascinating about auctions.

The more boring it became, the faster she wanted to leave, but Granny's gaze was focused on the stage from the moment it started.

Granny hasn't found anything interesting to purchase, her hands didn't raise up at all.

Ava leaned closer to Granny, about to whisper something. Suddenly the man loudly announced, his hands holding a piece of jewelry.

"Fifty million! This necklace is one of a kind, the designer made only two pieces in the world."

I can remember her exact words, "Fate will meet you no matter how far you run away." The man said, his eyes forming tears.

"She was anonymously popular, only few knew her real name."

Granny's gaze instantly focused on the necklace with a warm look, "Fifty million," she uttered, raising her hands.

"Eighty million," another voice said, lifting his hands.

"Hundred million," another said.

"Hundred and ten million," another bidder said.

The crowd bid up the necklace to a higher price.

Granny observed everyone quietly, and then frowned.

"Two hundred million," another said.

Many people gasped in amusement as they turned their heads towards the lady with blonde hair wearing a hat.

Only a fool would bid that kind of money for just a necklace. Someone from the crowd murmured with pity while staring at the blonde lady as if she were a fool.

"Two hundred million!"

Going?" The auctioneer asked, his hands poised to strike the gavel and seal the deal.

"Two hundred million!"

 "Going?" He asked again.

Suddenly someone raised their hand, "five hundred million!"

The crowd shifted their gaze from the blonde lady to the old one.

"Five hundred million.. Seems like she's the final fool after all.

She doesn't look rich, maybe she's trying to impress us." The lady from the crowd whispered to her friend, chuckling.

The words reached Ava's ears, and she frowned.

The necklace looked familiar, somehow like one her mother owned. But spending such an amount on the necklace made Ava sweat, not like she was the one paying but because of the amount Granny would be paying for it.

That amount of money was worth more than her father's company, probably even less than the price Granny paid.

"Five hundred million!"

" Going?"

"Five hundred million!"

"Sold!!"
