Chapter 19 - Gryffindor Guts and Last-Minute Magic

Cho Chang raised her hand and introduced, "Lee Jordan, a third-year Gryffindor student and a well-known Quidditch commentator."

"Hehe! Not that famous!" Lee Jordan casually stepped into the carriage. "Did you guys do Professor Flitwick's homework?"

"I only realized yesterday when I got home that I left my new textbooks in Africa. They won't arrive at school until tomorrow. But I haven't done any of the pre-lesson worksheets that Professor Flitwick assigned!"

Cho Chang's lips curled into a half-smile, as if to say: See? That's how Gryffindor students are; homework has no weight in their hearts.

Cho Chang patiently explained, "You should ask someone else. I'm a second-year student, while this Vizette is a freshman this year."

"Cho Chang! I know you!" Lee Jordan teased. "In the game last school year, Cedric failed to catch the Golden Snitch, it seems he was distracted while watching you!"

"Cough cough cough…" Cho Chang's cheeks flushed red, as if she had choked, and she coughed several times. "Are you sure you're not mistaken… I'm a Ravenclaw student."

Lee Jordan raised his eyebrows high, looking indignant, "As a commentator, my job is to capture the exciting moments of the game!"

"You were wearing this Tutshill Tornadoes jersey back then, I remember it perfectly clearly, there's no mistake, I swear on a bag of spiders!"

"But I still suggest you ask someone else," Cho Chang quickly interrupted Lee Jordan. "We really can't help you."

"Can I stay here for a while?" Lee Jordan sighed. "I'll check if Fred and the others brought their textbooks after they get on the bus."

"Do as you please," Cho Chang said without refusing.

"Fred? Are you Fred Weasley?" Vizette asked.

Lee Jordan's eyebrows shot up. "Yes! That's him! Fred and George are twins, and I'm best friends with them! You know them too?"

Vizette nodded. "The Weasleys helped me before, so we're acquaintances."

"Oh, it's someone I know!" Lee Jordan sighed again and complained. "I really don't want to spend all my time doing homework. This bag spider's venom is amazing!"

"When I was in Africa before, I did an experiment with this bag spider. Even if its tongue only came into contact with a tiny bit of venom, it would swell up immediately!"

"If Fred and the others came, we could do the experiments together! If it weren't for this stupid assignment... It's a pity I've asked several people, but I can't borrow any to copy!"

"I can't borrow it…" Vizette noticed Lee Jordan's pocket again. "You want to borrow homework to copy, and the payment is to let them touch the spiders in your bag?"

Lee Jordan nodded repeatedly, "Of course! This isn't your average bagworm spider; its venom contains magic, it's very rare! As rare as a wizard in a Muggle world!"

Vizette finally understood why no one was lending Lee Jordan his homework.

Touching a spider... just thinking about it sends chills down my spine.

This energetic fellow was quite restless.

Perhaps it was just his lively nature, but his urge to talk was especially strong.

When Lee Jordan learned that Vizette and Fred knew each other, he immediately started chatting away like an old friend, introducing each house.

"Gryffindor is definitely the best house! Do you know Headmaster Dumbledore? He's part of Gryffindor! Everywhere is the best!"

"Uh... Ravenclaw is good too. It would be great if Cho Chang and I were in the same grade. Ravenclaw's homework accuracy is the highest!"

"The people of Hufflepuff are all very friendly. That heartthrob Cedric... they eat the most, I really don't know where they get all that food!"

"Slytherin? Producing the worst house, the worst of all. You-Know-Who is a member of Slytherin. Those people will stop at nothing to get the House Cup, and their Head of House is a point-deduction maniac!"

"You-Know-Who... that title is quite strange." Vizette felt that the title sounded somewhat familiar.

He suddenly remembered that this was one of Voldemort's code names, and he was usually referred to as "Noseless Monster" or "Two-Hole Socket."

"That name wasn't funny back then." Lee Jordan swallowed hard, his voice contorting. "That was the most dangerous dark wizard in history!"

"I heard my father say that the number of people killed by You-Know-Who is enough to form an army of undead! Even the so-called 'You-Know-Who' is just a name, because we dare not call him by his real name."

"It's that dangerous?" Vizette frowned. "I've only heard of Grindelwald… he's also a very dangerous dark wizard."

He first learned of Gellert Grindelwald's name from the movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

At least in the movies, Grindelwald's fighting ability was extremely strong; he could even handle the Aurors of the Magical Congress alone with ease.

"That was a long time ago," Lee Jordan shrugged. "I know it was Headmaster Dumbledore who defeated Grindelwald. Coming to Gryffindor was definitely the right choice!"

After wiping the flying broom, Cho Chang said, "If you are interested in Grindelwald and You-Know-Who, you can read 'A History of Magic,' which contains more detailed accounts."

...

Time quickly came to 10:30, and Lee Jordan, who was parched, calmed down and began to try making up his homework.

"Repair spell... the spell is spelled R... what's R again? Reparo! It's a spell used to repair things... who invented it in England? I think I've seen it before..."

Cho Chang buried her head in a book called "Quidditch Through the Ages," her shoulders trembling violently, and occasionally a soft thud could be heard.

Vizette scanned the books in his mind and found "The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 3."

These books, memorized in his mind, could be found at an extremely fast speed by Vizette, as easily as searching for keywords on a computer, as long as he intentionally searched for related texts.

The Standard Book of Spells series consisted of seven books, corresponding to the seven years of spell lessons at Hogwarts.

For this reason, when he was browsing books at Flourish and Blotts, he had simply committed all seven to memory.

He read aloud from the description in "The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 3": "Mr. Jordan, the spell for the Reparo Charm is 'Reparo.'"

"If you need a full explanation of this magic, then it should be 'a spell that can be used to seamlessly repair most broken objects.'"

"Are you sure?" Lee Jordan's eyes lit up, as if he had seen a lifeline, and he grabbed Vizette's shoulder.

"Is that book you left in Africa called 'The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 3'?"

"Yes, yes, yes! This is the one!"

"Then that's it. When I bought the book, I thought it was quite interesting, so I made a note of it."

"You...you memorized it? Is that something a normal person can do? You really don't know You-Know-Who?"

"Yes, I remembered it right away when you read the question aloud." Vizette nodded. "If you're still worried, you can ask Fred and George to check the answers when they come over."

"I'll try it myself first." Lee Jordan pulled a tissue from his pocket, tore it into several pieces, and said, "Rep…aro…restored to new condition!"

He practiced the question on the preview test repeatedly, and after about ten attempts, he managed to piece the tissues together.

Magic required trial and error. The fact that the tissues could be pieced together without falling apart showed that the principle and incantation of the Reparo Charm were correct.

"Genius! You're a genius, bro!" Lee Jordan's way of addressing him changed. He grabbed the practice test paper and said, "Take another look at it for me!"
