Chapter 2 - Academy Rules

Regarding these rules, there were a few things Kazuya wanted to confirm. "First, I want to ask about the boundaries of this school."

When he first arrived, the bus driver told him to walk from the bus stop. It was possible that after the "Kuroyami Private Academy" stop, the bus no longer followed that route, so the driver couldn't take him any further.

However, there is another possibility that after the "Kurayami Private Academy" bus stop, it is not a public area, but a private area. So the bus driver is prohibited from driving past the boundary—the Kurayami Private Academy bus stop.

I feel that the second possibility is the most reasonable based on what I encountered while walking.

As Kazuya walked towards Kurayami Private Academy from the bus stop, he noticed numerous CCTV cameras installed on street lamps and pine trees. Some of them were clearly visible and deliberately placed, while others were hidden and camouflaged.

Such behaviour is not recommended and is prohibited in public areas, where it will cause disturbance and discomfort among the general public. However, this is a different story if it occurs in a private areas.

Principle Kurayami chuckled. "Good point. The school grounds here are not limited to the school premises, but encompass the entire private area of Kurayami Private Academy. Starting from the boundary of the bus stop, all the way to this school, Kurayami Private Academy."

"Secondly, I would like to know what is meant by 'free to do anything as long as it is not a criminal act' in the rules?"

"Hmm. This can cover a wide range of things depending on how you look at it. But generally speaking, every student is free to do whatever they want as long as it is within reasonable limits."

Essentially, students here are permitted to do whatever they want without any restrictions as long as it is within the scope of what is normal for a student.

However, this may differ depending on how each student here views it. It is not impossible for them to do something dangerous, as long as it does not fall under the category of crime.

As Principal Kurayami said, this could cover a wide range of things, but ultimately it all comes back to the students who attend this school.

"You're overthinking it. Generally speaking, it means that every student is free to do whatever they want to have fun!" exclaimed Reiri.

That's also one way of looking at it.

That's right. What I long for is a peaceful and enjoyable school life. I need to stop thinking about useless things.

Kazuya sighed. He still had a long way to go.

As for the rest of the rules, they were very easy to understand. It was only natural for every student to follow the rules set by the school.

Emergency situations do not occur easily. They occur when circumstances force them or when something unexpected happens.

For example, an earthquake or a building fire. Events like these would require an emergency situation. However, the likelihood of this happening to students in general is very small.

As long as nothing happens, it won't interfere with school life.

"I can understand these rules. Speaking of which, may I ask something?" Kazuya asked.

"Hm? Go ahead." Mizuho smiled, tilting her head slightly to the side.

"I understand that this is a private school, but I didn't see a single student on my way here. Does this school have very few students?"

Moreover, for a school of this size, it seems impossible not to see a single student on the way here.

Principal Kurayami nodded. "You're right. This school does have few students. This is because the students admission system at this school is slightly different from other schools. You could say that this is what makes it a little special."

"Is there a specific reason why students are accepted at this school?"

Considering that this school accepted students like him, it was not impossible that this was indeed the case.

"We have our own criteria for selecting students," replied Mizuho, clasping her hands on the table. "This school is specifically for 'Problem Students'."

And it seemed that his previous guess was not entirely off the mark.

"Problem Students?"

Kazuya repeated the words that had caught his interest, trying to find out more about what Principal Kurayami meant.

"Don't get me wrong. It's not what you think, nor is it the situation you're experienced." Mizuho emphasised her words. "What I mean is, students who cannot attend school for various reasons."

Kazuya understood why he had been transferred to this school. He, too, was one of those who qualified for admission to Kurayami Private Academy.

Kurayami Private Academy was a private school that only accepted problem students—no, more accurately, students with special circumstances.

"I hope this school can be a safe and ideal place for those who always want to enjoy their school days," said Mizuho, a sincere smile on her face.

"That is also what I hope for.'

Kazuya nodded. He strongly agreed with the values and principles that the Principal of Kurayami Private Academy was trying to convey.

The Principal Kurayami stood up from her seat, wearing a white blouse that matched her skin tone. It was noticeable around her chest area that it was clearly a bit tight and streched, highlighting her irresistible charm.

"In that case, I'll say it once more," said Mizuho, the corners of her lips curving upwards. "Welcome to Kurayami Private Academy, Kazehaya Kazuya."
